I have say this is the first time I leave anything under a 5 star review. I focus on leaving 5 star…read morereviews or don't leave any at all. I moved into the area from out of town a few weeks ago. Being trapped home most of the past week due to the rain, I had a short window of rain stoppage and an excuse to leave the house. I found this yard only 15 minutes away. I'm a car guy having been an ASE Certified Technician for Honda and Nissan/Infiniti for half my career. I really enjoy going on scavenger hunts collecting car emblems as a hobby. Given there was a small window of rain stoppage, I randomly headed to Anderson Dismantling. I paid the entrance fee and was there for about an hour finding a few cool emblems. I asked a yard employee for pricing and he said to take what I wanted inside for pricing when I was ready. This gave me an understanding that there is no set pricing and things are priced on a per transaction bases. With that in mind, I thought there was probably an opportunity to negotiate like many independent yards and businesses. As it starts pouring again, I decided to call it a day and head back to the register. At the same time, a customer is struggling to communicate with the man at the counter whom seemed like the owner. The customer asked if I could interpret which I did. He was asking for price sheet and vehicle inventory. He was looking for a Jetta headlight. I helped interpret to the customer that there is no price or inventory list. He will need to locate the vehicle/part, remove it, and bring it back to get a price. I continue putting my items out for pricing. Besides the emblems, I found a couple Geo Tracker parts for my buddy as a favor but my focus was mainly in the emblems. I ask for pricing and am told $75! which is way more than I have ever paid before for similar item's. Most corporate and independent yards charge around $1-$5 per emblem. Regardless, this review is not about the pricing because at the end of the day, it's their yard and I can just decline to purchase. The issue is that when I said, "Thank you for letting me check out your yard but I will pass" he raised his voice and got very hostile. He asked then "Why I went to spy on his yard and that he will be loosing money now due to these removed parts" Which doesn't make sense because he had just told another customer that I helped interpret to "remove the part he wants and bring it back for pricing". What if that customer doesn't want it at that point either? Since he couldn't bully me into buying his items, he got upset and said I was costing him money. At that point I once again respectfully told him I didn't want the items. In my mind, I'm not going to be bullied into buying his items, especially as his price. He asked what I wanted to pay and I told him originally around $20 or so but even after he countered to $50, I didn't want the items anymore because I didn't appreciate the hostility. He got more upset when I asked why he was raising his voice and being rude while I never said anything disrespectful nor raised my voise once. Quite contrary, I still thanked him for his time and stated that I was just trying to negotiate in good faith. He said that this was no place to negotiate. I said that was fine, it was my first time here and I didn't know. I will add that It's funny how I didn't even get a "Thank You" for interpretting. I didn't expect it but respect and kindness can go a long way! In all truthfulness I would of offered as high as $40, as $20 was just my initial offer. When he immediately got that upset and became hostile, I lost any eagerness to further negotiate in goodwill and I think anyone would if they were pressed with questions such as "why are you here spying on our yard" This is a fair warning to anyone that doesn't believe the many 1-Star reviews. Thankfully I don't need any of the their parts, but can't imagine how some people are treated if they feel this place is the only one stocking what they need. I challenge the owner or person I dealt with to reply to this review if my facts are wrong!

0 Stars - Misleading, Unprofessional, and Questionable Practices…read more This has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I've had in the auto parts industry. I agreed to purchase a transfer case about a week ago. The listing clearly stated pickup in Hayward. However, once I moved forward, I was informed that the unit was actually in Sacramento and that I would need to pay an additional delivery fee to bring it to Hayward. Why advertise pickup in Hayward if the part is not physically there? That is misleading at best. I then agreed to drive to Sacramento to pick it up directly. Instead of accommodating that, I was told I must prepay by card before they would even remove the part from the vehicle. No cash option, no in-person transaction. Payment first. After agreeing to prepay, I was then informed that it would take 24 hours just to remove the part from the donor vehicle. This means they list and sell parts that are not even ready for sale. No preparation, no efficiency, no operational planning. Customer service is extremely poor. Communication is slow and unhelpful. There is no effort to make the process smooth or transparent. It feels disorganized and careless. The most questionable part: they are charging a core deposit on a used transfer case. This is not a remanufactured, rebuilt, or exchange unit. It is a used part from a salvage vehicle. Charging a core on a standard used part is highly unusual and makes no sense from an industry standpoint. Summary of issues: * Misleading pickup location * Additional unexpected fees * Mandatory prepayment policy * 24-hour delay just to remove a part * Core deposit on a used item * Poor communication * No customer-focused service If you value transparency, professionalism, and efficient service, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Very disappointing experience.

Chris had me pay up front and said the part should be ready in less than 48 hours. Then ignored me…read morefor over a week. Clara never called me back to say a different part was ready when she said she would. I showed up to the yard and the part was in much worse condition than I was told. The yard staff were understanding and helpful but I will not give this place any more business.
