We were visiting the area and saw there was a great biking trail near by. With a quick Google search we came across this place. The prices are so reasonable at $20 per day. This includes rental of a helmet, a bike bag, tire repair kit, and a bike lock. The bikes aren't super high end but they are well maintained and ride smoothly. Their store is super close to the Pinellas Trail. Takes less than 5 minutes to get to the trail entrance. We went South on day one and plan to go North on day two. The workers were super helpful and courteous. If we come back to the area, we will definitely use their services again. read more

Came here for the first time because I had a rear flat on the back of my bike. I brought it in and Ryan was very helpful. He educated me about my bike a bit while he changed my flat. He even adjusted my seat for me to see if different angles worked. I didn't even have to drop my bike off, he changed it while I waited which was 5-10 minutes. I brought in my sons bicycle wheel to get rebuilt. I had this feeling that they really didn't care but was told it would be done in a week and actually told would be done by Wednesday. I only have my son for limited time and called on Thursday to find out...if it was done. Got this rude lady "Debbie" that said it was not ready and they would call when it was. It's now Saturday and no wheel. Called to get her again and a bad attitude. They purely don't care about their walk in customers and definitely lend preference to their regulars as was seen when I walked in the first time. Go down the street next to Pinellas trail where they treat you like a customer. Nothing worst than a store who promises and doesn't deliver or care about the small needs of walk in customers and is rude without apologizing just, "come pick it up then" as the woman said to me over the phone. Glad the store down the street can get it done quick and cares about even the little things. read more

Love this shop. Steve is the man and won't lie to you. This shop is in it for the live and passion of the sport. Yes, of course it's a business but they have to keep their head above water, but they don't nickel and dime the shit out of you like most places. Plus, they are open on the entire weekend! Closed Monday instead. I got a used Cannondale, (made in America!) for a crazy reasonable price and a brand new Jamis. Tons of bikes, gear, and even rentals. I've never purchased a bike from a bike shop, but I've had to visit plenty for need-it-right-now parts and the occasional wheel build. Trail Sport has built up about 4 sets of MTB wheels for me over the years (because I'd rather have my favorite hub/freehweel and rim/spoke combos) and they've always knocked it out of the park. I still have two sets of wheels they built up currently running on two of my Stumpjumpers. Five years on, and they're still as true and in line as can be. read more

Great service and reasonable prices. We rented bikes here for Pinellas Trail. Aside from beach cruisers we had not ridden n a long time. Friendly both on the phone and helpful when we arrived. The only drawback is the hours- they don't open until 10 so we had to rent for two days so we could ride early morning. We will return. read more

There are numerous bicycle shops in the Tampa Bay Area and this is the one where I choose to spend my money for numerous reasons. For starters, I am a very serious cyclist who spends a minimum of 3 1/2 or more hours on the road daily. I am a national champion and a 25 time state champion so when I have my bike repaired, I want it done correctly. I had to shake my head as I read the other review posted here by someone who apparently is brain dead. Ron is the most accommodating, friendly, competent bike shop owner I have ever had the pleasure to meet and do business with. For me, they have done work on two of my custom made bikes that probably are worth more than many people's automobiles. Bottom line: If you are looking for a competent, friendly, accommodating bicycle shop with very reasonable pricing for repairs and merchandise, look no further. As an aside, the reason I ran across this review site is that I stopped by the shop today with a mysterious noise emanating from my bicycle. Ron immediately discovered the issue and ordered the necessary replacement part. Buying a bike from here was a lovely experience! The owner and employees were the kindest and honest people. My husband and I went in here looking for a bike for him. I had just bought one from Target an hour before going in here. After my husband bought his bike from Trail Sport, I immediately returned the bike I had just purchased. We ended up buying matching bikes. The prices are higher than what you may find at a local Walmart, but it is for good reason. Obviously, this bike shop has better brands of bikes. The employees actually take the time to put these bikes together properly, unlike other places. You will have to buy additional attachments, if you want them, but they will put them on for free! Trail Sport's will also provide routine maintenance on your bike as a bike needs to be serviced just like a car. You won't get this at other places! Such a great purchase! read more

My husband and I went in TSB to find a bike for him bc he's tall with long legs. Steve ask him a cpl questions and after listening to what hubby said...Steve showed him the bike that would best fit him. He could have picked the most expensive bike and said this is your best bet but he actually listened to him. Then he offered to make a few adjustments to the bike to have it perfect for my husband to take for a ride. Hubby came back and said how perfect it was. It's always nice to patronize a local business and then the fact that for life of your bike they do maintenance work to keep it riding smoothly. Of course your normal wear and tear like if tires wear out they sell everything you need to keep it performing at its best and will do any work to it. I'm sure you could go to any chain store and get one cheaper but if you need work done to it you surely won't be taking it back to Dept Store to fix bc their is nobody their to help you. Their goal is to sell the bike and make a profit and then they are done with you. And then you are on your own where as TSB is their for you always. We purchased the bike and took it home and hubby said let's go back and see about one for you. When we arrived Steve came over thinking something was wrong already that we didn't like and we said we wanted to find something for me to ride. After answering a few questions he found the one for me. However I liked a different color so he said not a problem he would build me one with the color I wanted. Again if you purchase a bike at Dept Store are they going to build it the color you wanted...not at all bc you take what they have. We highly recommend if you are looking to purchase a bike to go to TSB not only to patronize local but bc they truly listen to your wants and needs and if you need adjustments or anything they work on what they sell. These guys stink. I took my bike in to replace my spokes, which they did. Prior to starting work I explained that the tires were tubeless and you must NOT lose the valve stem. Well they lost it anyway. They then called me to pick up the bike and when I get there the tire is flat and they say they don't know how to fix it. When I tell them the valve stem has been inserted incorrectly they say they lost the part and to fix it myself. I explained I needed to go to another bike shop to fix it. The owner got VERY ANGRY and threw $20.00 on the floor at me in front of other Christmas shoppers and told me to never bring my Trek bike in for repairs again. Over the past seven or so years I had taken my bike and others there for repairs and had already spent $500-$600 or more there including bike shoes(SPD), shifters, pedals,main crank and much more.
