Not your ordinary motel by any means, in every positive was possible! If you're looking for friendly, accommodating staff on top of clean rooms, with the character of a true mountain motel, book it. Steps away for a bite to eat and a short drive to all of your planned mountain adventures. I came with a few friends and got our room in a matter of minutes. Loved hanging out on the porches, picnic table/grass area and getting to know the two owners. Stay here and you won't regret it.

Single bed room.

Great place. Clean and cozy. Didn't look like a place I'd normally stay, but it was recommended by a local. Would definitely stay here again.

A great place

Located in the middle of downtown this quaint knotty pine motel takes you back in time. That doesn't mean it is lacking in what a traveler needs, no more no less. Service is friendly and I've never stayed in a cleaner place.

A MUST visit! If your ever in the Granby area Near the Rocky Mountain National Park. Trail riders Motel is the place to stay. The owners Erik and Mikee are amazing!!! Excellent customer service, friendly down to earth, and they make you feel at home. Approximately 30 minutes from Winterpark. Rooms are nice size, super clean, most places within walking distance, local shopping, restaurants, local coffee shops, sweet shoppes, Deli's, ski resorts, amazing lakes nearby and the amazing views are priceless. Yes ,they have WIFI 20-25 minutes into town near Grand Lake where there is good variety of restaurants, homemade ice cream shoppes and candy. Shop local you can't beat it! Also, nearby is a hiking trail to Adams Falls. Breathe taking viewsHighly recommend trail riders we can't wait to go back!!! Thank you

Mike was very accommodating and the rooms are clean. He helped with a parking spot for my boat. I'll stay here again.

What a find! For years, we have passed this B&B on the way in from US 40 on the local road to…read moreDevil's Thumb, always wondering what it was like and vowing to try it some day. The xc skiing at Devil's Thumb has always been a favorite for us, as far back as the 70's when it was just a rustic ski trail system with a small nordic supply shop. In recent years it became a full fledged resort with lodging where we have often stayed. We have also stayed in Winter Park, about 15 minutes away and driven over to ski. But we have now found our new favorite option. This is such a lovely place, both the facility and the charming staff. It is a better price value for us than some of the other options in the area, yet more than a simple motel in town. You know, like Goldilocks, "just right." I especially want to note that the (included) breakfast that host John cooks for the guests was wonderful, some sweet, some savory, warm, homemade, natural and ample for the start of even an hearty ski day. They take note in advance of special food needs and serve with a choice of time options. The log style of the building is rustic but nicely furnished. The rooms are well designed and furnished with high quality linens and have lots of storage as some guests stay for weeks. The views from each room are very pretty, some to the Continental Divide, some to the woodland. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The central lounge area was large, comfortable, attractive and clean and with a central fireplace. There are also some other smaller gathering areas to sit and talk or read if you wish to be outside your room. And there are also some family and dog friendly cabins on site if you want more than a bedroom. Personally, the rooms in the main inn are just right for my needs. We will absolutely be back. It is convenient to local xc skiing and also just a 15 minute drive past the Winter Park Resort and not far at all from several quality dinner options. We met other guests using the lodging for all of these reasons.

We came to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. Donna and Brian were so thoughtful and professional. They made sure we had everything we needed and wanted for our stay. Breakfast each morning was so delicious. Donna could have made it as a professional chef! We stayed in a dog friendly cabin, what fun to bring along our pup! Cabin was cozy, warm and the snow was shoveled each day for us.

Picture this: Sicily, 1942…read more Just kidding. Any Golden Girls fans? The man and I were in town during the 3 Lakes Ice Fishing Tournament this February, and had reservations at the Inn at Silvercreek for our time up in Granby; this location was super central to the surrounding area, and had so many different conveniences in close proximity - grocery store, restaurant options, liquor store (lol), bait shop, etc. The lodge is pretty big, and is most certainly a popular spot for people in the area to stay. What we didn't realize at the time, though, was that most units are privately owned, and vary significantly in quality/upkeep. So, rather than making reservations through the hotel itself, many of the units are posted on sites like Air BNB, and you can get a feel for what it is that you're getting for your stay (this is definitely something we plan on doing the next time we're in town). Parking is a little tough in the front of the building, but there are tons and tons of spots in the back when you actually get your room. Since we were there during such a busy time of year, the parking lot was jam packed, but I imagine it's super easy to find a good spot most other times of the year. Anyway. I was a little surprised by how well kept the main area of the hotel was for as old as it was; carpets were in pretty good condition, fixtures, wood on the walls, everything. Once we got to the front desks, a young man got us all squared away, and went the extra mile to be sure we were comfortable with what we were getting. My BF was on crutches at the time, so getting around was a little difficult, but this man offered a room that might be a bit easier for us to get to, and looked for rooms as close to the elevator as possible. He was super sweet, and we really appreciated his attentiveness. After checking in, we wanted to unload all our belongings into the room to get settled in for the weekend. One thing I really liked about this place was what I saw on the walk to our room... barber shop, tattoo parlor, small library, children's play area, arcade, full blown bar, and a separate (really nice) restaurant... it was insane! I'm sure there are other places that exist that are packed full of other businesses like this, but it'd been the first time I'd ever seen such a thing, and it was so rad! We were super excited to hit up the bar and arcade at that point. Now before, I said how refreshing it was that the older interior of the lobby area was so well kept. Our room... not so much. It was definitely old and worn: the heating unit was one of the old school types along the floor (which I'm sure everyone has stubbed a toe on at least once in their lives), the carpet wasn't too impressive, and the walls/fixtures were just super outdated. The whole room just felt kind of old and musty. It was also pretty small; definitely smaller than any other hotel room I've ever been in, and felt pretty cramped. This wasn't the end of the world, but now we know that Airbnb is the way to go next time we find ourselves in Granby. Over the weekend, we visited their in house restaurant a couple of times, and each time, the food was super delicious. Since I'm waiting so long to actually review this place, I don't remember what we had, exactly, but it was so so yummy each time we went. The waitstaff was pretty awesome and attentive, and the dining area wasn't ever really packed, so we felt at ease and relaxed both times we dined, which is always super key for us. We didn't spend much time in any of the fancy shops and stuff they had, but we did go to the arcade once (or twice?) to play air hockey, and had a blast together. It did get a little crowded at one point, which was our cue to boogie, but we had fun nonetheless. As a whole, I think that this place really has it going on. There's a lot to do to entertain yourself in the building, which is awesome. The lakes aren't too far away, either, so you can enjoy the outdoors and come back to a super bomb meal. I think my only complaint is that I could have been more comfortable in the room if it had been better maintained and taken care of, but it wasn't horrible, and I still had a great weekend. I'd definitely stay here again, and hope to at some point in the next year!

When I called the lodge, she had to walk to the office to take my reservation (since the whole property is only run by 2-3 people and often she is somewhere else other than the office). The booking was not that hard over the phone but make sure you speak slowly and clearly when you give her any info invovling numbers :D The check-in time is 3pm and check out time is 10am but you can call ahead to check in or check out at an earlier or later time. Upon arrival, Eddie and her daughter greeted us warmly. We were told since the room we originally booked had some plumbing issues we got upgraded to a better room. Yay! The new room is bigger and has a fire place. Eddie took us on a mini tour to see the other lodges on the property as well since each one has a different theme and they are actually quite funky. The lodge we stayed at was small but had adequate space. The kitchen has everything you need except spices and seasonings. There are lodges that can accommodate pets so just ask. We hiked a bit (since the lodge is pretty close to Rocky Mountain National Park. We also went to Hot Sulfur Springs at night (check out my review here http://www.yelp.com/biz/hot-sulphur-springs-resort-and-spa-hot-sulphur-springs#hrid:olYd01SdW95whyRPgZKegg) I like the fact that the lodge is close to those two things. You can probably also ski and ride horses around the area too. Just a note, before you check out, you need to take out the trash and clean the room otherwise they will fine you $25.

Rooms were clean and well maintained, and had all of the basics you would need. Everything related to a ski day was nice here - had storage for skis and boots so that you didn't have to bring them to your room. In the morning they have a nice spread for breakfast including fruit and cereal, and also have some hot items including eggs, toast, sausage, and bacon. Definitely enough to get you fueled and ready for the day. Then there is a van they run that takes you right to the gondola leaving at 8:30, 9, 9:30. Taking the first van gets you there right for the start of day. And you don't have to worry about parking, walking, and paying at the resort. Rides back were at 3:15 and 4:15 which gave plenty of time at the mountain. I didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but it looked nice. There were some cozy spots in the lounge with fireplaces to sit and relax. And a ping pong table that a few kids were using to stay entertained. Parking here was convenient, and the location is good; very close to everything in Winter Park. Overall I was very impressed with this stay. I will definitely look here first when looking for a place to stay in Winter Park moving forward. I thought it was a fair value, and the amenities made for easy ski days where all I had to do was get dressed and show up to the van on time, and not worry about anything else.
