I have not received any communications with your company. This unit was damaged at the factory as there was no damaged to the box it was in, and your people installed it damaged without notification, then told us just before they walked out the door. We bought a built-in microwave from Trail and also purchased a warranty for it from Trail. When the microwave failed, after less than 3 months use, we called Trail. They told us they did not handle warranties (even though it was purchased from them!) but that they would call Frigidaire and they would get in touch within 24 hours. After 48 hours, we called Frigidaire ourselves and they said they hadn't heard from Trail at all.They arranged to send out a tech to assess the issue and the earliest date was 9 days away. Then after that, we were told it could take 3 to 6 weeks to get parts. We then called Trail again, explaining the situation and asking if it was possible to get a simple countertop "loaner" microwave for that period. We were assured they would get back to us within the next day or two to let us know what could be done. Of course, we never heard from them again. So they have a good selection or products and reasonable prices but their customer support is virtually non-existent! I would NOT purchase a warranty from them ever again. read more

My mom (Olga Murashov) purchased Samsung Range Convection , while purchase was awesome (as it should, take money and sell) in a month and a half we started to experience problems with the cooking top. When called last Friday they said technician will be visiting to assess and fix this coming Monday (October 7th). My mom took a day off and unfortunately no one came. When called them they said in the next 3 days someone will come. Excuse me???? Should we take a week off from work just to wait for technician? Without even considering that we cannot use cooking top for anything. Horrible post sale service without any accountability! read more

Hi I would like to share a very positive experience with Trail Appliances from June 30th, 2023. My fridge broke down so i was looking for a new fridge. I went to Trail Appliances (Northeast location on 29 street). Right away i was greeted with a big smile and welcoming attitude by one of their sales associate"AJAY". He listened to my urgent need for a fridge and after listening to my need with patience, he showed me different options. He was having a real good knowledge and practical aspects to review before buying a new fridge. I ended up buying a new Samsung fridge for 2800$. He gave me all the needed information about a total cost and gave me useful information on extended warranty package so i bought 2 years warranty on top of 1 year manufacturer warranty. I found Ajay a true professional and an approachable and friendly sales associate. I must congratulate Trail appliances on having such a knowledgeful, proficient and friendly person in their team. read more

The delivery guys going to Evanscrest place on September 16th had garbage all over the street and their truck blocking the street. When I asked them to move the guy told me to F#*k off and that full size trucks can fly past him which was not true as I had to almost drive over the ramp to avoid my mirror from almost hitting the mirror on the vehicle next to them on the street. They are very unprofessional and shouldn't be allowed to drive anything bigger that a bike. Blocking the street is one thing but telling someone to F off is completely wrong. read more

Do your research before going to this store. Sales staff is on minimum salary and commission; will use every trick to sell with items with higher commission then quality of the product. Typical cheap behavior, after you signed the purchase order, good luck if the sales person returns your phone call! Delivery guys sent to my place were suspicious, one delivery fellow kept his sunglasses on the entire time inside the house. read more

I have to say, Bob from the NE Calgary store, all he wants is to make sales and not have to deal with anything afterwards. My warranty was up after 4 years and of course being a sales person myself, I went to him to see what he can do about getting me extra warranty as I was told I can extend it ( So he gets the commission) He said he would call me back Friday no call, left him a VM and no call back. Well I have missed my deadline to extend the warranty. Thanks Bob. Let's just hope I don't need any repairs in the next 4 years. read more

I find this hard to write.... My mother always told me -" If you cant say something nice , best not to say anything at all" But - then again- posting isn't really speaking so.... here I go. This goes back a year or two ,( or more... hmmmmm - perhaps the fact that I still ruminate over this interaction several years later is cause enough for my post). We were renovating our Calgary home - Re-digging the foundation , expanding the main floor and enlarging the bedrooms on the upper floors.... a major undertaking requiring us to vacate the home for almost a year . One of the principal goals of the rebuild was a significant kitchen enlargement and upgrade. The kitchen appliances , at the suggestion of the principal contractor , came from Trail Appliances and they were delivered toward the end of the build. Kitchen fridges , wine fridges , wall ovens , dish washers , a Wolfe range and warming drawers.. i thing the total for the appliances was close to $40K. The home was to be featured on the Alberta Ballet home and garden tour that spring and , as the date of the tour approached the trades were rushing to meet the deadline. As the Trail staff unloaded the new appliances we noted that one of the Sub-zero wine fridges was dented -( a somewhat subtle baseball sized imprint on the lower stainless steel front panel). We pointed out the defect to the crew who called a supervisor . The supervisor called his manager , who , noting that we were now only days away from the ballet tour suggested that we accept delivery of the unit and told us it would be replaced at a later date at our convenience. We accepted his word and delivery - I know the following is obvious and my fault. Following the tour we called to book the replacement installation. Several calls with creative runaround over several weeks and then our calls slowly stopped being returned . It became harder and harder to find anyone with "knowledge" of our situation and then finally , after having our final call transferred around the offices , we were told that , as we had accepted delivery of the damaged unit , there was nothing Trail could do. I expected as much after the first week or two .... I accept that trusting them and accepting delivery was my mistake.... But it still isn't cool..... and so....... for my one interaction with Trail Appliances...1 star read more

RUN. Do not walk, but RUN out the door. I purchased my washer / dryer from these guys 20 years ago when they had one location down south. Excellent customer service, very happy. And 20 years worth of wear on the pair, cannot ask for any more than that. Recently went to the NE location to look at a replacement for my GE pair that just can't do the job anymore. #1 - there were about 5 salespeople, but they were all on the phone. So, I went to the counter and asked if I could get some help. One guy finally peeled the phone away from his ear and asked what I wanted, kind of rudely too. Sorry to interrrup your 1-900 phone call. #2 - I actually did some research and knew the pair I wanted. Samsung for about $1800 for the pair. Salesmen Dicky didn't even look towards the appliances and said they were out of stock. #3 - I went out the door and drove to Coast Appliances and purchased the pair for $1600. Excellent service, great salespeople. For what's it's worth - here is the blessing on this story. I went onto the BBB Calgary website, and apparently dodged a bullet as this location of Trail Appliances is notorious for bad customer service and delivering faulty / defective merchandise. So, all in all, I was happy to NOT do business with them in the end. read more

We bought $7,000 worth of appliances at their big sale. Arranging deliveries and installation has been a complete nightmare. We've dealt with person after person, many of them contractors not part of Trail, and there has been nothing but confusion and poor attitude. They can't seem to get contact information right let alone actually deliver the product. They even claimed we hadn't paid, when we had given them a bank draft the day after the sale. We still don't have our dishwasher and the installer is coming tomorrow. Have already spent two full days waiting and hours on the phone. If you value your time, money and sanity, you will purchase appliances anywhere but Trail! read more

Avoid them at ALL cost. Week 4 now and we are still struggling to get our water softener installed. Good luck if you are waiting for them to contact you for an install appointment. Need to return the system but apparantly the restocking fee etc is high but will definitely return it, absorb the cost and let it be a lesson learnt. read more

I am writing this review to alert potential customers to Trail's service policies which I find to be very customer un-friendly. I called the service department today regarding a problem (detergent dispenser door won't close) with my dishwasher (Bosch). The policy is to send someone out to your home, determine the problem, order replacement parts and then return and install them. Trail will charge a $120 fee to send someone to your house and then more dollars in 15 minute increments to determine the problem. The company also wants your Visa number up front to make sure that it gets paid. I advised the customer service rep that I knew what the problem was and that the technician should just come out with the part. Apparently Trail can't do that. The company insists that they diagnose the problem. I asked that they order the replacement part and I would come in and pick it up. Again, the CR rep said that only technicians could order parts. I asked the CR rep to pass on to the executive what I thought of their customer service policy and moved on. Some interesting appliances at the store but the customer service is, in my opinion, very poor indeed. P.S. a call to Bosch in the U.S. yielded a Canadian part supplier phone number and I was able to order the part myself...about $75 total to buy and have it shipped. Luckily it is an easy install as well. read more

Bought a Kenitco water softener to replace my old softener that was damaged in the recent flood. I told them I was a flood victim and the generously told me I would get 10% off and for $30 they would haul away my old water softener. What I found strange was that they forcefully demanded full payment before install. I just got a furnace and hot water installed which cost 10 times as much and never was asked for payment until the work was done. Very strange. The installer was a really nice guy, explained everything. I asked him when someone would take away my old softener and he said someone would call me soon. I waited 2 weeks and no call back. Then when I called I got the answer "oh, we changed our mind and don't want to pick up your old softener anymore" What kind of company charges you up front and just decides they don't want to do the work they committed to after the sale? I should have listened to these reviews, this company treats their customers poorly post-sale. I even tried to call their Service Manager, Art several times but he ducked my calls in a hope I would go away. Way to go Trail, jerk around a flood victim. Very disappointing! read more

We purchased a Kitchenaid gas range, fridge, and dishwasher from Trail in Calgary in 2014. All three appliances required service within the first month. It took over a month to get the appliances fixed. The dishwasher broke for the second time less than 6 months later and the first service appointment was missed by them. They rescheduled for September 24, more than a month after I reported the dishwasher problem. I bought new appliances to avoid the problem of unreliable appliances but these are worse than the 10 year old stuff we replaced. Don't buy from them unless you want to be ordering take out and hand washing your dishes because the crap they sell breaks and they can't respond to service calls in an acceptable time frame. read more

Horrible post sales support. I purchased a fridge from Trail. Two walls were damaged during delivery. the fridge was damaged. I was told that replacement doors would be ordered. Close to a year later I am still dealing with this. Calls are not returned, information keeps changing. Lots of excuses with little action. My walls are still cracked, my fridge is still dented, weeks and months go by with promises of action but none taken. Buying an appliance shouldn't be this hard. read more

OMG - I wish I had gone to this site and read up on Trail Appliances first, we have purchased thousands of dollars worth of applicances from these guys and only because we are associated with another company that uses them. These guys are not only difficult to deal with they actually make it sound like we are an inconvenience to them! We have been trying to get our dishwashwer fixed for months, to just get someone to come out and install a part has become a nightmare. These customer service (or so called) actually told us we have to work our schedule around theirs and so I did, took the day off - then they call and say, Oh the service guy got a big job downtown so too bad we can't do your call today??? What I took the day off work and now they want me to pick another day. Trail should hit the trail... we will definitley be going to Coast or another competitor for future purchases! read more

If I could rate with no stars I would. We are now into a month without a refrigerator - which by the way is on warranty. When we called, Trail came out 6 days later to "assess:". I was told there would be a rush on the order. Now three weeks after that, no part. Can't believe that in this day of the internet, UPS, FedEx etc that Trail cannot service its customers within a reasonable time, How's a family with children to function without a fridge ? NEVER AGAIN. We've bought a few things from Trail in the last 6 years or so. Sales staff were ok but have managed to buy a lemon of an appliance. 3-month old top-of-the-line Samsung dryer dies when there's a week's worth of laundry to do. Trail sends someone out a week later. Takes another week to get a part. Who has 3 weeks' worth of clothes?? So, 6 days of catching up later, 9pm Sunday night, the sheets are in the dryer still wet. Yup, dryer died again. Where do you get your sheets dried at 9pm on Sunday? So, mad, called Trail Monday morning. After 20 minutes on hold get told someone can come out again on Friday - another week. I asked for a replacement. They said "only Samsung can authorize that". I called Samsung. You guessed it: they said "only Trail can authorize that" and besides, it'll take 3-4 weeks to do over the holidays. Repair guy comes out and says it's dead, there's no point in putting in the same part again, just request a replacement. Trail refuses to replace it, says their policy is to replace - get this - THE SAME PART 3X - before they'll authorize a replacement. So we would have to go through this AGAIN before they'd cave in?? So like LM, we went to Coast Appliances and bought another dryer. They were super helpful, said we'd had enough problems, they would deliver it Monday and waive the delivery charge to help us out. So what exactly is a family to do with no dryer? We should spend 6 weeks using a laundromat when there's a new top-of-the-line laundry pair in the basement, the dryer of which is only good for collecting dust? Where's the fairness in that? Where's the customer service? They totally do. not. give. a. (fill in the blank here.) It's just unbelievable. read more

We renovated our kitchen in the Spring 2013 and bought $7000 of stoves and ovens from Trail Appliances Calgary -- top of the line stuff. Unfortunately not and the service warranty and quality have all been simply terrible. Thanksgiving morning we started breakfast early to prepare for our company -- the Kitchen-aid induction stove top died halfway through breakfast leaving us stranded. The advice from the salesperson (Beattie) was to buy a hot plate from Canadian tire -- this after complaining that he had already finished his work day -- not mentioning that he took over an hour to return our call. It took 3 months to get the stove top repaired and we got charged twice for an extended warranty. This morning - Christmas Day we are going through the same dance -- died again half way through breakfast. My opinion of Kitchen Aid, Beattie and Trail Appliances couldn't' be lower. So we built a new home through Morrison (who we are overall very happy with) and Trail Appliances supplied us with the stove, fridge, hood fan and washer/dryer. Hood fan has three settings, middle setting crapped out. No worries, it's under warranty, they will order the part and come and fix it. While we're waiting for that, the ice bucket on the fridge breaks. It's *just* off warranty which sucks, but wev. We called Trail and told them about it, they said they'd order the part and bring it out when they're doing the warranty work, but we'd have to pay for the part. Ok fine. Yesterday they show up to fix the hood fan (under warranty). They DONT HAVE THE CORRECT PART. They DON'T fix the damn thing and leave it disassembled all over my kitchen. They look at the fridge and go "yup that is a broken ice bucket" and they DON'T have the part and DON'T fix it. Then when they flip the power back on they ELECTROCUTE MY STOVE. After three minutes of poking all the buttons on the stove and checking Samsung's website, they say "yup, that's fried." And tell me it will be 3-5 WEEKS before they can get the part in AND it will cost me $400. And then they charge me 120$ for the service call. So. I call the Morrison warranty department to let them know the warranty work isn't done AND to tell them about the massive amount of fuckery going on and Morrison tells me that Trail emailed them and said the stove was broken when they got there. I am TEN THOUSAND PERCENT LE DONE with Trail Appliances right now. read more

We bought a floor model Frigidair Fridge for big $$ , were told it's brand new and in perfect condition - it was delivered in October 2016 and 6 months later and going on 6 service calls and it's one thing after another - no follow up- no once taking accountability and we are no further ahead with this mishmash of crap they sold us, the service tech come out and parts are broken in the box , the totally wrong parts are on his paperwork and NO ONE CARES , I have now called the service manager - our sales rep and the client care manager - lets see who passes the buck next read more

I recently made a number of purchases at Trail (dishwasher, air purifier, water softener, refrigerator, convection oven, and then another washer and dryer and dishwasher). I emailed the salesman a few times to confirm that the stacked laundry pair I wanted would work in the space i had, providing photos and dimensions of the existing laundry pair I had, as well as the space available for the new pair, and he assured me they would fit. They didn't, not by a long shot, and I had to tear out cabinets to get the laundry pair to fit. Also, I purchased an expensive Kinetico water softener (instead of the less expensive other options) because I was told that the Kinetico used approx 1 bag of salt per year instead of traditional softners that use one bag per month. Turns out my fancy Kinetico water softener also uses one+ bag per month. I honestly feel like I was told whatever was needed to make the sale. I won't return to Trail again, and would suggest you do your due diligence before you make a purchase. read more

I purchased a fridge and stove from Trail. Sales person was fine. When delivery came the fridge was dented so I sent it back. I did not buy it on a dent and scratch sale. I was promised by the delivery guy as well as the store when I called in a new one would be delivered the next day. There were 3 in stock so they said. The next day rolled around and no phone call, no fridge etc. I called them at 2 pm asking for details and nobody knew what I was talking about. Everyone including the manager passed the buck. They did send over a loaner after I got angry with them. I was told when the new fridge would be delivered in the next week not asked when I was available. I did not get any phone calls during the next week to follow up. I had to call them. Now one week later still no fridge and the store has rearranged delivery to next week again. The delivery person has called me (external company) to set up a time so I hope that goes well. When I called the store to cancel the new delivery time because I had spoken to the delivery guy the salesman at the store was extremely rude, and not very helpful nor was he friendly. I will never use Trail again!! read more

I want to be fair here so I'm ammending this review. I just heard from Trail and the family member in the ownership group. I now have my extended service contract and their apologies for not returning all the calls before. Apparently someone was supposed to phone, etc. This was still a difficult experience and could have been handled better. And, they did make it right in the end after prodding from me. December 2011: I spent $2500 on new dishwasher, washer/dryer at Trail's south store. The washer never worked and the dishwasher was installed improperly the first time and had to be redone. I lost 5 days of work waiting for deliveries, service people, installers, more installers, etc. I was never offered anything to compensate for the hassle. I had to ask for a refund on the installation, I had to ask for a new washer (they wanted to fix a new, $900 washer), I had to ask for access to sales manager (no help) and finally a family member in the ownership group who swore he wanted me as a customer then, when I asked for a service contract on the washing machine as compensation (both the sales person and the SERVICE guy tried to sell me one for $150) he stopped returning my calls. So they don't mean what they say and they don't walk the talk. $2500 is a lot of money to me...maybe not to them. I will never do business with them again and I was a repeat customer before all this happened. Very disappointing. read more

Sept 12, 2014 Never buy anything from this people. I bought my home package with extended warranty. My freeze stopped working on Aug 1st and It is still not fixed. I have also complained to BBB and still no result. I have been keep writing that nothing happening and they also wait for answer. Here is history Aug 1-LG French door two drawer freeze stopped working. Lost all my long weekend groceries Aug 1-Trail appliance asked to call back on working days Aug 05-Called service and they asked me to talk W3 solution warranty people. Was told Trail can not do anything. They wont give loaner freeze Aug 05-Called Warrenty people gave claim number and someone will call me back Aug 08-Called again same talk. called trail their service manager never returned call Aug 08 to 13 - Kept calling trail and Warrenty people. Warrenty people assigned Transglobal for service and I kept calling them. After about week They left a message on my cell that their technician is on holidays for two Weeks and ask warrenty people to get someone else Aug 13-Registered a complain to BBB. Meantime we living off camping cooler Aug 14-Only after complaint got response by trail that they will give me a loaner freeze Aug 16-Loaner freeze came smallest model cant fit even two jugs with grocery Was told I must put in Garage. So inconvenient to me and my 80+ year old mother Who cannot use stair Aug 16 to Sept 12 Atlas appliance came and check and told most probable it will be replaced Some one will call from Warrenty/trail No one is calling and I am still without freeze. Do not know if and when I am getting information or freeze All consumers can you live without freeze in your kitchen for 43 days and I am still counting. Warrenty people are telling me since last week and half that they are leaving messages to Trail appliance and trail is not calling back BBB complain is registered but no one seems to get on case and let me know that if they are Changing freeze or not. Really disappointed with the customer service. I come to Trail Appliances thinking they are the experts but apparently not. I was not informed at all that my brand new $1200 dishwasher does not come with essential parts that it will need to run. Neither does the store carry these essential parts! Really, really disappointed. Staff needs to become more informed about their products and need a lesson or two in customer service... read more

This company is a joke. I purchased 3 kitchen appliances and all three are defective, and the microwave delivered isn't even the one I purchased. I've made several complaints to them and now they are threatening to not service the appliances at all. They are rude, dishonest, and above all a RIPOFF!! read more
