I wish I could give this place a negative comment. We traveled 2 hours to see a car that was advertised as "no rust, brand new tires" when we arrived the car had rust on both sides of the rocker panels, we were told the rocker arms don't count! We've never heard of this distinction before. The tires were clearly not new! Maybe 50% at best. The sales guy was very clueless, he tried to tell us that a Chrysler was a Ford product! I have supplied all info to the state of Indiana for the purpose of procuring my title. Mr. Trafny lost in court to the tune of over $100,000 dollars, penalties and all. I do expect my title any day now. It will I guess be left up to him as to how the car is paid for on his end. All I know is I paid him $5,000 plus tax and never received a title in 1.5 years. This is a reasonable car dealership. ALL their cars are sold as is, it is up to you to do your research and know what your getting. I test drove a car from them, drove nice, checked the engine and undercarriage. The car is a 2012 so no it wasn't perfect but it was what i would exspect a 6 year old car to be. Bought the car and put over 2500 miles on it in two weeks. Runs beautifully. Very happy with my purchase. I only knock one star off because they did give me every line in the book of used car salesmanship. read more

It's been 3 months and I'm still waiting for the title of the car I purchased. Also, the car had 2 bad vanos sensors, bad crankshaft positions sensor, bad valve cover gasket, oil, and spark plugs. Wouldn't even start a week after I had it. The check engine came on while driving home. They won't answer calls or give legitimate answers. I bought a Toyota 4 RUNNER almost 2 weeks ago from these guys. This wasn't the first vehicle I bought from them either. I was texted by the Salesman that they had something I might be interested in. When I told him I went by to look at it later that night he said he was driving it. When my gfriend and I went the next day and found him there he said it was down the road getting some frayed spark plug wires replaced. We went down and the mechanic was working on it. I asked what he was doing to it and he got silent. Then the salesman spoke up and changed the subject. He did say "even if you have to put a motor in it the frame is mint" At which I said I don't want a vehicle I have to do anything like that to. Long story short after a few high pressure texts from the salesman. We bought it for $3,800.00. I took it home and parked it while I got the plates, insurance and registration. 2 days later my girlfriend drove it the 4 miles into her work but when she tried leaving to come home it took almost 2 hours due to not hardly running. I got ahold of Trafny Auto sales and after several texts they came and drove off with it to allegedly fix it. A few days later they wanted me to come sign a blank work order to get it fixed at their mechanics. They did say they would pay half but never said what half was, nor how much it would cost. WE TEXTED them and told them we would not sign the work order. So they had a tow truck drop it off on my street in front of mailboxes. I told the tow truck driver to take it back to TRAFNY cause what good is it at my house. They then called the police like I abandoned my vehicle and within a few hours had it impounded. All this without telling me and while I was at work. Now they have taken a bad situation and added more expense for their customer. This Dave Trafny should NOT BE IN BUISNESS unless the buisness is taking your money, costing you more money and SCREWING you. I have had several texts back and forth with them and they say they are not doing nothing. I paid $4,500 total for a vehicle I got less than 20 miles on. I understand things happen but I should not be expected to eat the costs of this. I will be filing a claim against them today. If anything like this has happened to you with these guys please let me know. It's a shame that some people think they can still screw people out of their hard earned money. They happen to be an Indiana Dealer, but very misleading, because they are not credible business men. They sold me a car, and 2 weeks later, head gasket was blown and needed a new engine (cost as much as I paid for the car) At the sale, they lied about the A/C, Title, other repairs, and when confronted with these issues along with a blown engine, they took no responsibility. Lies, lies, lies! All of the signs were there to turn and run, but I truly felt that these men, that have families of their own, would be honest and credible. So NOT true. Your Karma will catch up to you. This is not a reputable business that stands behind what they sell. Do not buy a car here! I bought a used SUV. I have a friend who is a mechanic, so i was willing to take on a car that had a check engine light. The salesman showed me the code reader, I took a picture, and sent to my mechanic. We decided based on that information that it needed some minor ignition system repair. So I bought it and drove it home. When we looked deeper, there was no record of that particular code on the car's memory anywhere, and it never threw the same code. We have deduced that he deceived us by showing me a code from another car, so i would think it was repairable. Turns out it was a broken/failing and expensive transmission and not safe to drive! Would cost more to repair or replace transmission than I paid to buy this 15 year old car. I called and spoke with the salesman several times. Although he is nice and somewhat knowledgable, he is not the owner. I tried to reason with him, and since he said I got such a great deal, talking him down on the price etc, there was room for him to fix it, and sell me something else on the lot. These guys buy crap cars at auction, maybe touch them- they claim to repair them, and sell them off, and will not take them back, or even give you a credit toward another car on their lot after they sell you a non-working car. Stay away- Buyer beware!!! It will cost you more to deal with people like this than to go somewhere else. read more

I wish I would've never found Matt Hottenstine or this dealership as they call it. We bought a van. We were told it had been driven by an employee and ran great. Once title received and traced, it was an auction vehicle out of Illinois. Within 48 hours and after having a mechanic look at it, transmission was shot. You couldn't tell it until a 250.00 diagnostic test was ran on it. I called and was told to find a cheap "Mexican" to fix it... salesman's words . I told owner and he laughed. I told him I didn't appreciate that as my husband was of Mexican heritage and he hung up on me. He hasn't talked to me since. They lied to Attorney General Office and said we were offered extended warranty and we denied it... never happened. I will do everything in my power to get my van running and get the word out how we were treated. They said I demanded full refund... I said that or repair. Worst place ever! read more

I too responded to a Craiglist ad for a 2005 Volvo. Nice pics in front of a residential area. Texted the guy. Set up a time. Sent me an address to come look at the car. Google is my friend. Upon looking up the address I saw the "home" was actually low rent used car dealer. I also dealt with "Matt". Every single review was essentially the same thing. Craigslist ad from the "actual owner" then problems and surprises after. These folks are not ethical. Avoid!! read more

We have been looking for a van for our family for some time. We came across an ad on Craigslist for a van that fit our needs. The ad claimed it was for sale from owner, not dealership. We began texting with a Matt who set up a time and place to meet for the van. We were also promised it was in good mechanical order. We followed the directions to the address and quickly discovered they had lied and it was not from an owner but from a dealership. Additionally, the oil pan was covered in grease, and the rear end and transmission were all leaking. When confronted, Matt from Trafny claimed that they weren't a dealership but rather a consignment place since people "didn't like to deal with assholes from Craigslist", implying that as we didn't want to pay asking price on a van in dire need of mechanical repairs that were assholes. When a business lies on Craigslist and then proceeds to be unprofessional in their dealings with people, you obviously can't trust their vehicles either. read more

so i drove nearly 100 miles too purchase a reliable 2007 jeep commander when i arrived i was greated by a guy named matt. i thought he was generally a nice guy. we test drove the commander and it drove nice ran nice and looked nice! PERFECT JUST WHAT WE WANTED! NOT!!! upon leaving i drove out by the south walmart (aprox 5 miles from their lot) filled the gas tank up and drove too the walmart parking lot shut it off and went inside too buy a rear turn signal as the person following me said it was burnt out. once i get back too the jeep it will not start it dont turn over it doesnt do nothing at all all dash lights came on but the vehicle woulnt even engage the starter or anything no noise what so ever. so i instantly called matt.. 45 minutes later he returns my phone call and instantly starts spewing bullcrap saying that the starter is just wet and i need too wait too try again. now here we are going almost 2 hours after i paid for it it still wont start. hes not offering too help at all the owner is a pos aswell he wouldnt even answer my calls! i literally got 5 miles away and its already broke down! very dissapointed! this guy and all his cronies are straight scam artists! and i will be getting my attorney involved. now i have too figure out how too get this pile of crap towed 100 miles too my house! with 0 compensation from these crooks! read more
