Well the location is amazing! Historical area, historical pub. The bangers and mash was tasty. People were kind. It's a busy tourist area. I definitely went here more the history than the food but I wasn't disappointed.

This was a spectacular Goat Cheese & Onion Tart! It went very well with my Suave wine.

Quite a cosy pub right overlooking the Thames in Greenwich. Stumbled on this spot after visiting Greenwich market with a friend. It's an absolutely massive pub with two floors and multiple rooms. Each room has a slightly different vibe, with the downstairs feeling more casual and the upstairs more upscale. I had a glass of the house red wine for 6 quid and it was lovely. They have a pretty expansive list by the glass. The bartender was friendly and we found the service to be good overall. We didn't have any food while we were there but saw many plates come out of the kitchen. The fish and chips looked absolutely lovely and smelled delicious. The woman at the table next to us had one of the boards which looked quite nice as well. Overall it's certainly worth a stop if you find yourself in Greenwich wanting a quick drink.

I guess being a pub on the water front does give it some charm, though there was a time when they view wouldn't have been all that great considering that just across the Thames was the old London dockyards. Well, that isn't the case anymore since it has now become a major financial centre. This pub though is still pretty awesome, located just outside of the Royal Naval College. As I mentioned it has a pretty awesome view over the river, and the beer select is quite decent as well. Oh, and it has a large outdoor area as well, which is something that I really like.

Trafalgar takes the diner back to a bygone era where a sailor was glad to have a cold beer and a hearty meat pie or fish and chips. Yes times have changed but if you look around the room at the history, see the art around the room and smell that sea air, you almost feel like you are back in the 19th century for a moment. You can call me corny if you want but I don't care. If you let it, The Trafalgar Tavern will make you feel like you are dining in the middle of history. Awesome place

Stopped in for drinks only. Popular pub 400 yards east on the Thames from the Cutty Sark. Wife's Aperol spritz was fine, pretty standard. My Camden ale was cold & fresh. Barman was friendly. I ordered at the bar and carried the drinks to my table. Over busy dining room had lots of litter covered tables. Insufficient personnel to keep the place clean. Other patrons had food. Honestly the grub looked less than average. Didn't inspire me to order food.

Had our Sunday Roast here today and not disappointed! Wife ordered Lamb Shoulders, friend ordered Grilled Pollock and I had the Pork Belly. Food was done really well. Had ciders (for the ladies) and stout for me. Good stuff overall. Was very busy and glad we made reservations, otherwise we would not have had a seat.

Had lunch here, service was friendly and efficient. Had the fish and chips, enjoyed them and the portion was generous. Nice atmosphere, can't beat the location.

If you're in Greenwich, this is the bar to visit! Historical venue that maps back to the 1800's with great waterside views. The bar itself has a large selection of spirits, wines, and beers on tap. Inside the tavern is decorated with tons of art to elevate the historical theme, plenty of seating, and clean bathrooms. Outside there is plenty of seating for a perfect waterside view. Highly recommend stopping by for a pint!

Upstairs private room. Suitable for wedding and events.

Can't really add much to what has already been said about the Trafalgar Tavern. It's a fairly normal pub in an area steeped in history and architecture. What I will add is that the upstairs area, reserved for weddings and events is truly spectacular. I came here for a friend's wedding a fortnight ago and what an amazing main room there turned out to be tucked upstairs in this ancient pub. As you walk up the stairs there is a beautiful smaller room with huge bay windows, this leads to a smaller 'snug' bar which is truly cosy. The views from up here were simply stunning. Throw in a main room which has enough space for around 150 people plus dance floor space and it's a tidy little wedding venue. So, I did spend a bit of time downstairs whilst at the 'do'. But it seemed pretty mundane, lovely as it was. Anyhoo, the party was definitely going off upstairs and it's here where I believe this pub really, truly shines. If it's local to you, and you're about to get hitched, you'd be silly not to check out the facilities upstairs, they really are a pleasant surprise.

Myself and a friend happened to be spending the evening sat at the bar on the Thames Clipper catamaran ferries when we first spied the Trafalgar. Zooming past on our way down the Thames, the pub looked spectacular when lit up at night and from the vantage point of the river. That's certainly saying something when you take into account its location, sandwiched beside some majestic Georgian architecture. Once inside, however, I couldn't help but feel slightly let down. The Trafalgar doesn't seem to be able to figure out what exactly it wants to be. It looks like a yacht club from the outside, and even inside, the layout seems strangely spartan, and more like the clubhouse of a distinguished old boys bar than a venue open to the public. All of the furniture is either vintage or doing a good impersonation of being vintage. Red leather lining abound. Having said that, the bar menu looked quite appealing and seemed good value. The place is evidently popular too, with a decent crowd for a midweek night.

Great tavern! It's an older tavern which Charles Dickens use to attend. Clean bathrooms and good tap water, they will give you ice if you ask. They have a bucket with beer on ice 2 for the price of 1. Decent selection for beer on tap, but their liquor selection is amazing. The food was good. The staff was wonderful. It's located by the Royal Naval college and some other cold things to do and a short walk to an underground tunnel that goes under the river thames which was an exciting find.

While you can hang out in the crowd and grab a pint easily without that, if you want to dine in the quieter dining area with views of the water you may want to do so as well. Especially if you want the elbow room to enjoy such great food. The Mayflower is named after the famous ship carrying the early American settlers, and the church tied to this voyage is steps away where apparently an unmarked grave hosts the resting spot of the captain of that ship. It's candlelit and kind of romantic on the top floor with great views. For food, my wife had the chicken pie and I had the special of the day, lamb stew with housemade potato salad. It was warm, flavorful and delicious, sentiments my wife shared on the pot pie. We split an order of mac and cheese, and it was also delicious. Such great comfort food. I had a small scotch pour and an ale, my wife a glass of wine. I had a small port to pair with the sticky toffee pudding at the end which was terrific. My wife swears by Gordon Ramsey's recipe of the same but this one was hard to beat IMO.

We ordered onion rings to start, the breading on them was amazing! It was light and crispy as opposed to being heavy and greasy like a lot of onion rings. I also loved the curry ketchup that came with them. I'm not generally a curry fan, but it definitely worked with this dish. My husband got fish and chips. The fish was perfectly fried and the tarter sauce was obviously house made because it tasted very fresh and lemony. The chips were fine, but unremarkable in my opinion. For my meal, I ordered pumpkin walnut gnocchi. It was delicious! Just enough pumpkin without being overpowering. There was quite a bit of kale (I think it was kale, the menu didn't say) that came with the dish. It was very good, but probably could have been dialed back a little. The service was friendly and prompt. Definitely a great way to start our London vacation!

The establishment has a nice mixture of cozy and airy, which was perfect for a lazy(ish) Sunday. I hate to use this word, but I'll use it anyway (because I can't think of a better descriptor): the service here is "super" friendly, and very knowledgeable, particularly regarding the ales on tap. The barkeep gave us a few sample pours without waiting for us to ask, which we greatly appreciated. Because of that, we were more than happy with the pints we ordered. Moving on to the food: the roasts were delicious, in particular the pork loin, which was moist and flavorful. I enjoyed my roast beef as well. The Yorkshire pudding was wonderful and I might have been just as happy eating that alone for my meal, to be honest. The pub is in walking distance of the touristy areas of Greenwich, so it's easy enough to put some good food in your belly and continue on to your sightseeing, afterward.
