Overall I had an good experience with Traditional Designs. Very good job with the fabrication and installation. However after the job was done, the faucet came loose from the counter top so I called for them to send their plumber back out. When I did, I was told, that I paid for the plumber myself so that part of the job wouldn't be covered by them. Here's the back story; their plumber was in the hospital so they arranged for another person to come out and after that person finished, he demanded payment and was unable to provide me with any receipt (so I really even doubt he was a plumber). At 9 PM at night, I had no choice but to pay him and let TD know so they could take that amount off my bill, which they did. After the call became escalated, I was told the 'plumber' would come the next day between 6-7PM but of course, he no-showed and I haven't heard a word from TD since. I really didn't even expect the plumber to come. I was really shocked by the response from TD but since they had all of their $6000, there was no real incentive for them to follow up. Oh well, live and learn. read more

Redoing your kitchen is never fun. It always seems to cost more and take longer than you think it will. I just had new granite installed in my kitchen and Traditional Designs did the honors. Tucked on W. 12th street near the Washington Street Corridor, Traditional Designs has a fantastic selection of granite slabs. Someone who works for TD comes for an intial measurement, then you choose your slab, someone comes again to draw a template, they cut it, and install it. All of the people you deal with work directly for Traditional Designs. They were very careful to protect my wood floors and literally wrapped themselves into my kitchen with plastic sheeting to avoid getting dust everywhere. Everyone we dealt with was super nice, and they came through on everything they told us. They also offer quartz countertops, a great selection of sinks, and flooring, as well. read more

The Tradition Designs team, and Martha in particular, were extremely helpful and friendly in our home renovation project. They installed granite counter tops in our kitchen and living room bar area and subway tile back splash in the kitchen. Home construction can be stressful however they completed the project within a reasonably quick time frame and their prices are fair. We got price quotes from Home Depot, IKEA (quartz counter top) and another independent installer however the prices and customer service at Traditional Designs were both superior and we signed an agreement with them immediately after our initial consultation. We will definitely return to TD when it's time to update our bathrooms and install new flooring. Dave Allum and the team at Traditional Designs were awesome! We had almost 6,000 sq. ft. of remodeling to our home and TD installed all of the flooring, including beautiful hardwoods and Travertine tile in Verailles pattern. They had to remove old tile and carpet first and did a great job in a timely manner. They also installed granite countertops in kitchen, bar and bathroom and recommended excellent choices in both the granite and flooring. They also installed sinks and hardware. We had some weird indoor "flower boxes" that Dave recommended covering with a Leathered Granite and wow, looks great. Remodeling is usually a real headache but Dave and TD took care of us. I would highly recommend this company and you really should visit their showroom and granite yard. read more

UPDATE: Someone from the company by the name of Gaylord (not making this up) called me about a week after I wrote the review and said they were following up with things because Toni fell behind in some of her responsibilities. So they definitely had my sheet with what I was in the store looking for with my telephone number and name (not the name I use on Yelp by the way). They proved it themselves and I have been vindicated. I wound up not getting granite since I decided to keep my current countertops but did use ProSource and Lowe's for my tile needs in case anyone is wondering where I wound up. This company tried to bully me by saying that I was never there which is a lie. I was there and have proof with a written quote that I received by Toni, one of the women who works there. I can even describe her for anyone who doubts me. She took photos of the remnant slabs I was interested in, spoke with the owner (while I was there) to ask if it was possible to get the remnant slabs without the installation (which she wouldn't agree to), then obtained a price for the remnant slab with installation. While I was waiting for the quote I looked around the store for tile when Toni handed me a piece of paper with the quote on it. That's how I had the exact figures and Toni's contact information and all of the other information that was in my original review. These are facts, this happened. The store can't get away with bullying me because I wrote an honest, negative review based on my experience. That's extremely unprofessional. I have reported them to Yelp as this kind of behavior is not acceptable. read more

We have used TD on two different remodeling projects -- kitchen and bathroom. They weren't large jobs, but I felt I received just as much attention and consideration as if it were a mansion. We visited their showroom, consulted with the designer, viewed the slabs available. Their craftsmen came to the house, did the job, left no mess, and all went well. Now, these two jobs were several years apart, so their quality has not changed. I went to Traditional Designs based solely on the yelp reviews. From the moment I walked into the showroom I knew that I was dealing with a very professional company that really knew their business. First of all, they had exactly what I was looking for which really surprised me. I was looking for a particular granite with a textured finished. In stock! I seriously thought it was going to be special order. Second, within just two short weeks it was being installed. I live downtown in a mid-rise. It is not the easiest place to get contractors in and out of, mainly due to parking. This made no difference with the Traditional Design installers. My concierge made a point to tell me how easy they were to work with. These guys came in and removed the old and installed the new granite in my kitchen, master bath, and spare bath. They did a fantastic job. I don't have ANY touch up work to the surrounding areas. I am very impressed with the quality and the fact that they completed it all in one day. The plumber was just as courteous as the installers. He also did fantastic job. Great people. High quality work. I highly recommend them. read more

Countertops did an amazing job remodeling our 70s style, cramped and tired, old kitchen. Tom the project manager was super responsive and kept us in the loop from beginning to end. We hit a handful of snags as in any major project however with thoughtful discussions and compromise, they were resolved. We also appreciate the crew cleaning up and putting away their tools and materials after each day's work. Tom was also accommodating with some of the changes as the finishing touches were getting installed. He was very patient. Finally, we wake up every morning to a kitchen we absolutely adore! My husband and I worked with Deana at Traditional Designs to upgrade our kitchen countertops and the half bath countertop from formica to Caesarstone quartz. They have a great selection of quartz in their showroom from just about all the manufacturers you can think of, which was ever so helpful for someone like me who needed to compare a bunch of different samples side by side in person to narrow it down. Deana was very helpful in offering suggestions and her opinion when we were still trying to decide between all the samples, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. Once we picked a quartz and agreed to go with them, she spent a LOT of time and worked very hard crunching numbers with us to maximize the slabs, minimize seams (we ended up with only 2 seams that are barely visible), and patiently answer all of our questions, which we had a lot of, since we're very involved, detailed DIYers! Quote to installation was really quite a smooth, quick turnaround. The installers they sent out were very professional and skilled workers as well. I love my beautiful new countertops that really update the look and feel of my charming 70s kitchen and bathroom! I also appreciated that Deana even sent at handwritten thank you note and called to follow up after installation to ensure that we were happy. Customer service was top notch! My husband and I recently used Traditional Designs for countertops and carpet in our house (1920s bungalow remodel). TD was great. They are only slightly more expensive than a big box store like Home Depot but the quality is much better and the turn around time is very quick. If you are looking to upgrade your counter tops I can wholeheartedly recommend Countertops & Flooring by Traditional Designs. After taking proposals from three differtent companies we chose Traditional Designs. The bottom line is they offered the best value for the money and were great to work with. They replaced our old counters, sinks and faucets with new quartz counters, new sinks and new faucets. Their plumber also replaced the faucet in our kitchen. Now we have gorgeous, fresh looking and updated bathrooms and we love them! The installers were nice guys and very competent and their plumber was great also. Dave, Martha, Toni and Jamie in the office worked in such a way that we really felt they wanted us to be very happy when all was done. They earned our business. We may do new tile floors soon also.
