No pharmaceutical or apothecary wares could be found in the store though. They did have a nice summer isle with tubes, beach towels etc. I chose self check out and was a little insulted to only have my age checked by the video camera and not a staff person. But the worst part, on a SATURDAY, there was one cashier open and everything else was Self-Checkout. Bizarrely, all the manned cashier lanes say they are express (12 items). Why I looked at the date I have no idea, but when I saw it had expired this March, I checked my Wife's bottled, it showed the same date. Now I was worried using a expired item in the eyes may cause harm or the best case scenario be useless, so I decided to return them. The Food Lion was very busy, but the Manager told me without a receipt she could only exchanged them for new boxes. Thats was fine, I checked the counter where I had seen two box's prior, but they were now gone. She told me to call other Food Lions and check with them to see if it was available. I did such and found one on Richmond road that had them. The manager there after talking to this Manager agreed to exchange the items. I apologized to the two Manager's for interrupting them in such a busy situation, as one was checking out customer's and the other one was bagging groceries. They both handled my situation with courtesy and consideration, even through all the congestion they had. I thanked them both for their assistance and departed.
