So Helpful.... I was a bit put off because of the cramped parking this afternoon. But I went in anyway to pick up something for dinner. I love this place. As soon an I entered, I remember why I come. The prices are so much more reasonable than Whole Foods, they always have hot samples and easy, healthy meals. read more

You must take a number and be called before entering the store. they are not accepting reusable bags, they are not charging for bag. They are disinfecting carts and handing out hand wipes for customers. they are taking this very seriously and it's great to see how much they care about their customers. read more

I think of Trader Joe's as more of a specialty store than grocery shopping but they do have what you need. I came in for some lunch and ended up with something really great that I thoroughly enjoyed- a white chicken & roasted beet salad and sweet plantain chips. I wanted something to drink but was not impressed with their selection unless I missed it- I didn't want cold pressed juice or kumbocha, so I walked over to the coffee shop, which is why I took a star off. But I had a great experience for what I came for. The cashier was helpful and I didn't have a long wait time. I am happy with Trader Joe's. I even had a sample of a lentil dip and crackers at the deli/shop in the back, that was great too. read more

Trader Joe's - Grocery Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

I have shopped at this TJ regularly since I moved into the area five years ago. The staff is great and the lines are not long. BUT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MEAT/POULTRY. I cannot count how man times I get home, read the "sell by" label on the meat or poultry only to have it go bad before that date. When it happened several weeks in a row with the organic chicken and I finally went in with the stickers from the meat and was reimbursed. When it happened again, the management gave me a bit of a hard time. Well, happened again, today. I bought chicken thighs (organic) last week and sell by date was for tomorrow 5/28/15 and today the fridge smelled so bad and I knew just what it was. I really do like TJs for so many reasons but I just can't waste my money any more nor can I handle the inconvenience of returning so often to ask for money back. read more

Boo for no wine!!!! Yay for carrying the awesomely cheap TJ brand nonfat greek yogurt that has less sugar and more protein than Fage! Also yay for the chili lime cashews! read more

I've frequented this TJ's weekly for about a year but I've had enough of the staff here today. One, the stockers/staff are constantly blocking aisles everywhere each time I go to this location, and as someone who is a customer trying to find and buy items I'd think they'd be a little more pleasant and kindly get out the way when you come down the isles. But NOOOO! I'm treated like I'm in the way! The manager's need to talk to their stockers about this. Two, today, I was in the Express Checkout lane, which was moving extremely SLOW. The cashier working the lane directly next to self checkout, directed and took at least two customers who were standing in Express Checkout and were BEHIND me! I mean, am I invisible! How rude is that when I am next in line?! I've got it TJ's of Rt. 29 - never again! read more

parking sucks in this lot. that is fore shore, but what tj's has in stock has improved 10 fold since it first opened up here a couple of years ago. the produce has gotten better and so have the prices...... i just bought some bananas for $.19 a pound....... 19 cents! love their garlic naan and black olives and these new sauces........ marsala, piccata, cacciatore, thai red curry (i know they aren't authentic, but close enough) make cooking so much easier and tastier. they have pasta sauces for $1.29 a jar................ $1.29?! who can beat that? read more

Small parking lot, small store, no liquor. Boo hiss. You know how Trader Joes is known for its enthusiastic cashiers? They'll fake conversation about how great the kale pizza is or ask you if there is anything you didn't find. Cute, light conversation. Well they do surly cashiers at this one. I'll stick to DC Trader Joes. read more

I really have to give this Trader Joe's 5 stars! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The food is usually a decent price, cheese here, is the lowest price than anywhere else in the area that I can find. It's a great Trader Joe's! read more

My house is a 15-minute walk away from this Trader Joe's (or as my AzN mom would call it, "THAIJYO"). We come here on a near-weekly basis. TJ's main strong point is its convenience foods, and much of their merchandise is very reasonably priced. Examples: -- Chicken stock: $1.99. Pretty sure it's a repackaged brand but it's cheaper than Whole Foods. Organic and low-sodium. When this location opened they used to carry Kitchen Basics (which is the best brand of stock, in my opinion) but their brand of stock is great as well. -- Eggs: about $2.50 for a dozen brown eggs -- Luna Bars are $0.99/each. Usually they are $1.99-2.49 elsewhere, except for Target, but TJ's has them beat by a few cents. -- Mixed organic bagged salads are $1.99. Bell peppers are $3.99 for a 3-pack of red, green, and yellow. Bananas are $0.19/each. -- Nuts (pine, pecans, etc) are very reasonably priced at $5 and under -- Flowers are $7.99 for a beautiful bouquet. -- $3.99 for Clementines when they're in season, compared to $4.99-6.99 at Giant or Whole Foods. -- Spices are $1.99. They used to be $1.69 or $1.89 but that's still pretty reasonable for basics like cumin, dill, kosher salt, and pepper. The cheapest for basic spices I've seen was the Market Pantry brand they sell at the Target in Reston for $0.88/each (now $1.09). Products that are pretty awesome: -- Those orange sponges that are 6 to a pack. You'll pay twice as much at Crate & Barrel. And they're really good sponges. No, seriously. I didn't believe the French lady who waxed poetic about them but then I bought them and now am a believer. -- Candy Cane Jo Joe's -- Triple Ginger Snaps -- Korean kalbi -- Any of the simmer sauces, but especially the korma or curry sauce. Things I don't particularly like at this location and its products: -- The cashiers aren't very adept at bagging groceries. There were a couple of instances where we had great baggers but most of the time we end up bagging our groceries ourselves. -- They run out of stock of a lot of things but it isn't as bad as the one in DC. For example at one location my friend found lots of baking soda but not powder, while at this location they had both. But oddly enough, I couldn't find any panko and had to settle for organic breadcrumbs. -- MoCo's lame liquor license laws. For a time I used to frequent the TJ's in FoggyBottom by my work because of the wine selection. -- They no longer carry linguine or fettuccine at any TJ's I go to! -- I no longer see the Italian imported can tuna! That is my favorite tuna ever. -- The sushi is disgusting. It tastes very sweet, as if they used glutinous rice. -- Don't buy the organic microwaveable soup bowls. I have tried two and not only are they bland, the lentil soup looked like liquefied refried beans. -- The honey almond oatmeal soap (three key ingredients that are known for moisturizing properties) is really drying. For those of you who find the parking situation difficult, my sister and I always park in the back or side of the store, and not up front. We've never had an issue finding a spot or getting out of the lot. read more

I really like this Trader Joe's. It's well-laid-out, and easy to get to. While I wish it were a bit closer to DTSS, it'll do just fine for me. Ample parking. A much better alternative to Safeway and Giant. It's also next to a California Tortilla, so the thought of getting both my queso and my cheap organics in one trip is mind-blowing. read more

I have been so down on TJ's because of the Bethesda location - I feel like if I want to buy anything, I have to get there at 8am on a Tuesday morning because they tend to sell out of stuff in the afternoon, and by 9:30am, the parking lot is insane. Today I decided to venture to TJ's Silver Spring, and thank goodness I did - it restored my love of TJ's - finally, a parking lot where I don't feel like I'm going to die! And well-stocked aisles (how many trips have I made to TJ's Bethesda in search of falafels only to learn they were sold out). I will drive the extra 15 minutes for a sane shopping experience! read more

I am giving anyone who gives this place less than 4 stars a huge o_O. How can you NOT love Trader Joe's? Quality, variety, prices, customer service, everything about this grocery chain is top notch. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because this particular location is a little snug, especially the parking lot - hopefully they can expand soon. Trader Joe's is a reasonably priced alternative to Whole Foods and a healthier gourmet alternative to most mainstream grocers. The frozen prepared food and vegetables are of the utmost quality. The cheese and produce selection is fresh and you will always find a few surprises. They also have an excellent variety of quality healthy snacks from dried fruits and nuts to crackers and cookies. I swear this is the one retailer where I can always count on the consistency of great customer service and friendly staff. read more

Great place and great prices but terrible parking. The apaces are so small and the roads 29 get so congested. This area town is just too small for all the jerks that have moved here. Why is this area so darn busy???? Please go back to where you came from! read more

I agree with Asieh - Trader Joe's won't have everything you need, but what they sell comes at a great value. I especially like their variety of juices and instant and frozen foods. It took me a while to get used to shopping here because they don't carry any brands that I've ever heard of (growing up shopping at Giant). But feel free to explore, take a risk - and you'll rarely be disappointed. read more

Staff here is amazing! Everyone is always helpful and smiling. Beyond that, the typical Trader Joes atmosphere and products. The only downfall to this location is the smallish parking lot, but I think the main problem with that are the idiot, silver spoon, suburbanites that drive their huge SUVs without the driving ability to handle it in tight situations. read more

Not sure what rock I've been living under but I am new to Trader Joe's and have never shopped there until recently. Really liked this location because it has what you need and you can be in/out quickly! Haven't had any issues thus far and the employees are nice and helpful. I live in NE DC and while the Whole Foods in DTSS is much closer, I prefer to make trip to TJ. Price can't be beat. read more

Yes I like Trader Joes....but they are not all created equal. So this may be a harsh review for some. The parkling or layout of this shopping center sucks. It can be hectic to enter and exit. I always feel like the parking spots are way too small (designed for only compact cars to make more parking spots). I never know when the right time is to come to this location. For me it is usually in the evening during the week. Yet I have been there a few times in the daytime and there has been literally no produce in stock. I once waited weeks...about two months for those dang persian cucumbers. Anyhow. This particluar evening that I go there is produce stock everywhere. So I am in the middle of them pulling the bad stuff and putting in the new stuff. I recently stopped going to this location once a customer told what I could not understand. I would purchase my produce on a Wednesday and by Friday it was molded and would have to be thrown out. This happened with produce and meat. he same customer told me that this location holds their produce longer than most....seemed logical to me and that I should try the location in dc. Thanks for the tip, but Columbia would be much closer. So between that and my husband complaining about not purchasing the seasoned meats/seafoods...I have switched up what I buy and the frequency. Not to mention once I find a few items that I truly adore.....they seem to become discontinued (5+ items to date). TJ is still a better place to buy groceries than the big box stores, but you are limited in what you can buy. My favorite things to buy from TJ's are the breads, chips, desserts of course, cheeses and any of the good samples for the day. If you tend to buy alot of the frozen foods, make sure you check the sodium content, you would be surprised. This place has not been banned, but I am a little smarter about when I purchase and what I purchase from this location. read more

I love Trader Joe's! Mandarin Orange Chicken is delicious! Always a good meal whenever I don't feel like cooking anything elaborate. This is what Trader Joe's is all about, great frozen food! I wish this location sold wine like the Tyson's one but oh well. Oh, parking is a nightmare here, be warned! read more

Very nice store. Parking lot is very small and is shared. Good deals on wine. Great holiday treats!!!!!so good!!!!!!!!!

Parking wasn't to bad... Lines were decent.. They had a great supply of everything

I'm an avid shopper at trader joes but to my surprise Maryland does not allow alcohol sales in grocery stores so when I couldn't find my cheap wines at trader joes - I was almost like the end of the world. With the exception of the wine, everything is here typical of a trader joes store - friendly staff and quality food. It's always busy but I think every trader joes I've been to has been. read more

It has a parking lot with decent sized spaces (much better than the Bethesda TJ's lot!) and it's on my way home from work. They seem to have more cheese in stock than the Bethesda TJ's, which is always out of most of the cheese selection. If you want gruyere, you can get it here at 7pm on a weekday (which you can't do in Bethesda). Having said that, TJ's is discontinuing the pork Kielbasa (and only keeping the turkey, which tastes like tofurky) and doesn't carry the dried tamarind on the east coast, so really, there are very few reasons for me to continue coming to TJs. That, and none of the MD locations carry liquor. Beh. read more

I came here looking for Chia Seeds two days ago. I mistakenly went into the nuts section and was immediately greeted by a very friendly employee. She directed me over to the correct area, but they were unfortunately sold out. This is where she went above and beyond. She informed me and gave me directions to a place called Living Well that would definitely be in stock. I'm so glad she did that because I discovered a cool store to shop at too. Nothing will ever take the place of Trader Joes, but it is so great to have options too. She was fantastic with a knockout smile and an amazing personality. This rates up there with one of my best experiences at Trader Joes. You know a place is good when you are willing to drive 4 miles out the way and pass by 3-4 supermarket options in the interim! read more

I absolutely love TJs and think they're doing a good job given the pandemic. I visited the store yesterday and was told they are limiting the number of customers at a given time but found there to be far too many people upon entering the store. Because of the multiple cashier lines running through the aisles and far too many people in the store, it was extremely difficult to maintain social distancing. Our cashier didn't do a good job packing either. We left the store with six bags instead of three because he packed unorganizedly. So much of the bags was empty. I will return again because I continue to be loyal and love TJs but hope the management is able to manage crowds more effectively. Stores should only allow 10-12 people at a time so people can social distance. All customers and workers should also be required to wear masks at all time. Thank you for the work you're doing! I hope this provides more reassurance and space for workers and customers alike. read more

Excellent place! Your typical tjs. Cramped, small parking lot and cramped store. Too many people.oh well. Still a nice place. Always yummy things to stock up on.friendly service. read more

I will always come here, it may be crowded, but they're always fully stalked with items I'm in need of and they truly go out of their way IF you can't find what you're looking for. It's very hard to park here on weekends, but maybe they'll finally extend parking behind the store a bit more, probably not, but we'll see. read more

Its a Trader Joes so I can't be that mad, but the parking is the worst. I'd almost rather WALK to this location than deal with the parking situation. Twice now I've had little bumper car moments. Really not fun. read more

I reside in Atlanta and was pleased as punch to see there was a Trader Joe in my area. Im Happy and LOVE TD!!

LOVE Trader Joe's! Boo for no wine, but I'm used to in in Maryland... The only problem with this TJ's is the parking lot - it's SO busy during the weekend and pretty much hellish to get in and out of there. read more

This particular branch of Trader Joes' is fair. Not great. Not bad. Just fair and acceptable. For the most part, I generally can find what I am in search of. However, when I go, I pretty much search out quick snack items. read more

Love this place. All the natural goodness you get at Whole Foods, but for so much cheaper! Even though Whole Foods is much closer to where I live, I still make the 10 minute (so far, I know!) drive here because this place rocks. Don't expect to find too many other brands of items here since they try to market their own Trader Joe's items - but I frankly love that! Definitely my favorite spot to buy groceries. p.s. It's my favorite grocery store. I just recently moved from Canada and this is my favorite thing about U.S. I love all the cool items they have. My favorite is the cauliflower rice and the frozen sweet corn. My only complaint is can you build some more locations. read more

I love Trader Joe's in general, but I'm not a big fan of this particular store. I haven't been so thrilled with the produce. The parking lot is always really busy and I can sense a lot of people who would happily run me over to get a spot. The worst thing was one of the managers being rude to me when I asked a question (politely) about a product. Very unprofessional. The products other than the produce are generally good, the prepared food is very handy, and the prices are great. But it's important to feel comfortable in a store, and staff rudeness is a big negative in my book. read more

This store is a bit on the small side. What's lacking in size is made up by the stores cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. Produce section was well organized, staples were well stocked. I have multiple food allergies and am unable to comment on frozen or dairy sections. If I were in the neighborhood I would shop here :) read more

Visiting our son we went here Sunday morning; still crazy! I'll never understand why Trader Joe's goes into spaces that have inadequate parking for the traffic they bring. Lots of registers open made for a short wait. read more

I went in to buy local honey because I heard that can help with allergies. They didn't have local honey but they had great deals on other products and an associate there was able to give me a few suggestions on where to purchase local honey. They were very friendly and again the prices were great. It's a smaller Trader Joe's than the other ones that I've been to so the selection was a little bit smaller but they had the necessities. read more

I love Trader Joe's as a whole. And this one is just as fantastic. It is definitely smaller than most other ones that I've been to and there's no alcohol because of the Maryland rules. But the people who work at this Trader Joe's are the standard happy Trader Joe's workers. Everyone is very polite, kind, and helpful. There is rarely a line when I go to check out and if there is, then it goes by really fast. I also haven't had to ever pay for my bags which is great since usually stores in Montgomery County usually charge and Trader Joe's bags are definitely the best. read more
