I like shopping at Trader Joe's but sometimes it can be a hassle to shop at the San Francisco locations. The block of 4th street Trader Joe's in downtown San Francisco can be a bit disruptive. Getting out of the parking lot at the Masonic street Traders Joes can be challenging. The Traders Joes at Hyde street has some interesting characters around and in it. I like to enjoy a quieter shopping experience sometimes than the chaos of the city. I like going to the San Francisco next door neighbor of Daly City Trader Joe's at Westlake. There is plenty of parking at Westlake and easy access to shop for groceries. On a Spring stroll going to the city Nextdoor ( not the website or app) to San Francisco to shop for groceries at Traders Joes in Daly City's Westlake Shopping Center. Inside you will find lots of flowers, salads, sauces, ice cream , wine, and plenty of cheese like the ones in SF. You may only see mad crowds when they release their pastel tote bags like the one possibly dropping on Monday March 23 ( wink wink). After shopping at Traders Joes there are hella of places to eat at Westlake like sushi at Spiral Japanese Cuisine or deep dish pizza at Blue line Pizza and for seafood scramble egg chow fun and the mango shrimp go to Banana Island. Thanksgiving headquarters if you don't want to cook some big turkey yourself. Special cranberry orange sauce, fully cooked turkey breast, stuffing, grilled vegetables and a pumpkin pie that even after a day or two doesn't develop a soggy crust. This store has everything you need for a small group of people gathering for Thanksgiving - without any work at all - except heating stuff up. If you have a group of 6 or less I wouldn't deal with the hassle of cooking a turkey for 7 hours - who needs that? Who has time for that? Who wants to clean that up? Here you can get a fully cooked turkey breast - no work - just heat it up. Stuffing that is tasty and anything else you would need if you were hosting Thanksgiving for a small group. I suppose you could double up on the turkey breast, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and cranberry sauce and serve a group of 12 easily too. I love the TJs cranberry sauce with orange zest. I'm tired with the canned Ocean Spray. Its good to have it a little zesty. And the pumpkin pie seems like it has this space age crust that doesn't get soggy. I don't like soggy bottoms. Nobody likes soggy bottoms.... so get your pumpkin pie here. Really what brought me in the door this visit was the holiday decoration. ITs all sold out at all my local Tjs and it was here too. Don't sleep on anything if you see it here - its seasonal, its temporary - - and often - once its gone its gone. This particular location had the most large flower selection I've ever seen. There was a bouquet of orchids where each individual stalk had its own tiny water supply while in transit. I liked that. There was also another orchid in a little lantern style box. That was also very cute. I was looking for some things to put on the KitKat memorial - EVs in San Francisco are killing all the cats and I don't like it. They are too quiet. Cats evolved over the past 100 years with internal combustion engines and they are used to that now. My 1997 Passat TDI would never kill a cat - its loud enough they would all run off long before it got anywhere near. Not many more shopping days till Thanksgiving. I snapped up the last 100% cranberry juice - that stuff is so powerful its known to make my niece and nephew cry. I like it. What turned out to be a poor customer service experience transformed into an excellent customer service experience. I went along and purchased my regular groceries in this clean and tidy store. Meal options are always diverse. Love it. Had a highly dissatisfied experience at the cash register. Had a moment to debrief with Mike and I appreciated how we saw eye to eye. Treat people how you would like to be treated. There's a special way to "dance" in customer service whether it be in grocery stores or at restaurants. Generationally I think young adults are at a disadvantage in terms of having a prosperous opportunity to learn proper etiquette when they're little... seeing the full cycle now is terrifying. But Mike, you made my day. Forever loyal to your store. Thank you for understanding where I came from and was as polite as I could be today regarding the situation. I love Trader Joe's Westlake. Never a bad experience where I have shopped countless times as I always enjoy the unique items that one finds compared to the Big Box supermarkets. I have had to return items which were unopened where I found out that we had these items at home. Tonight was one of those times where we bought a box of pearl onions only to later find a larger variety package of the same type of onions. Returned with a receipt to Customer Service where I was refunded $3.00 in which the actual cost was $2.99 to save me from carrying all the loose chandelier and those four Lincoln pennies. read more

I come to this particular location because it's sooo convenient & the staff here are pleasantly chill. It's been awhile since I've been to TJs so I sooo needed to stock up on goodies. Spotted some new snacks such as kettle corn drizzled w/choc w/freeze dried strawberries. Get some regular stuff as well but found out some items were discontinued. BooHoo! I prefer coming to this Trader Joe's location in Daly City even though it is farther than the South San Francisco location. The parking here is more plentiful and easier to navigate. And the inside of this store is larger and more spacious. There is also something about their product placement / displays that make me notice new items (to me) that I just don't see at the Sunnyvale location I usually go to. The only odd thing is how they have separated the "bagged" salads from the "boxed" salads; they aren't even in adjacent refrigerated sections. Today, May 9th, Trader Joe's was packed, but one employee completely brightened the whole store! Autumn greeted everyone with the biggest smile and such a warm, happy energy that I joked her name should've been "Sunshine" instead. They may have a lot of Filipino clientele, but if you have a darker skin tone you may get treated like shit. Been coming to this TJ at Westlake Center for years. Parking in the lot is challenging but there are some good spots always available in the covered garage or on the side streets. Service and availability of items are usually exceptionally good. So this trader joe's is pretty good, love all their food, love their frozen foods. I just suggest putting more options for sandwich meat. Workers are very nice, they're helpful, and I like when they bring up small talk at the cashier, it makes me smile. The last time visiting this Trader Joe's was back when they were limiting the number of customers being allowed entrance , Geez That Sucked because it resulted in a LONG line to get in. Today , though the parking lot was very busy, but I was still able to quickly find a space, and because the entrance queue is gone getting in to shop was painless. As for the store it's larger then the one on Masonic resulting in wider aisles, and a floor plan that rarely feels crowded. As for the inventory, products were well stocked and because this is Trader Joe's the pricing does not wildly fluctuate. Today was just a simple shop of Orange Chicken to put in the freezer, some yummy Greek Salads for Lunches, and an impulse buy of Peanut Butter Pretzels, because as an adult I can. One of the best things about living here in Daly City is that I have everything I need within a 2-mile radius from restaurants to department stores to home improvement centers. As far as groceries go, it's definitely a good thing to have a Trader Joe's in the vicinity! I've always been a huge fan of this chain, and I was lucky enough once to live across the street from one when I lived in Indianapolis! The prices are reasonable, the selection is great (especially the wine and cheese sections!), and the staff is always friendly and willing to help answer questions and suggest their personal favorite items. Finding a parking spot is very easy, especially since I like to get there right when they open at 8:00am. The store gets crowded fairly quickly, but the cashiers are very efficient and keep the checkout lines moving fast. I'm very impressed by the way they handled the new covid19 sanitation and distancing methods. I like how there's no ambiguity with all the markings on the floor of where to stand and so on. First off I've been shopping at Trader Joe's for over 40 years... I have never ever had an experience like what just happened. I stopped into the store to pick up a couple of things for my Christmas Eve dinner I of course, brought in my ADA trained service animal, the majority of the customers were going gaga over. As I was walking towards the checkout line, a clownish individual walked up to me... didn't say hello kiss my foot or ask any questions just flat out told me do not bring your dog in the store anymore. I reached down and pulled out my ADA certification with dog tags mind you, my service animal not a fake one (like the lady had in the store...) one anyone can pay $100 to get fake credentials off of Amazon. Mine cost thousands and again my service dog was paired with me. I went to the desk to speak to a supervisor and found out that the clown was actually Jay the manager... so he walked up and I said I need to speak to your boss and he said I have NO boss. Again, that's incorrect and would not give me the phone number to the area supervisor the two gentlemen in Hawaiian shirts told me was a lady. I hope somebody from Trader Joe's reaches out because this behavior is both un warranted, unprofessional and can get you sued. read more
