The food sold here is great and they also have great products that are gluten free for those who need it. The interior is very welcoming and there is some beautiful art on the walls and signs. Wanted to check out Trader Joe's in Clifton, NJ very pleasant experience. It was a busy Sunday afternoon. Parking was very easy. Loved the outdoor fall display. Walked over to produce and samples were being served of tasty butternut squash risotto! It was so delicious, that i ended up purchasing a bag. Goes great with fish, poultry, vegetables, or a stand alone meal. Of course I needed to stock up on my stash of pumpkin seeds, trail mix, and other nuts that I love to snack on at home or while on the go. Check out was interesting, so used to being directed as to which check out register to head over to. This location customers can pick any checkout counter they wish. All of the store personnel are friendly, everything is stocked nicely, and organized. Definitely would visit again. The atmosphere is great! read more

This is technically my local Trader Joe's and they did not disappoint on my first visit! Lots of shopping carts available and a beautiful little plant section in the vestibule before truly entering the store. The store itself is one of the largest Trader Joe's I've ever shopped which makes for a pretty pleasant shopping experience. Their instocks were great and there was plenty of help from the staff if needed as well. I did discover expired soup in the refrigerated section but when I informed the employee she immediately checked the dates of all the soup in the case and apologized. There were tons of cashiers available to check me out yet the store had zero bags available... I am not sure if this is now the new norm since I've moved back to Jersey but I of course had my own bags in my car so I had to wheel my shopping carts to my car and transfer the items. Overall a good shopping trip and I'm glad this is my local store. read more

I love going to this Trader Joe's! I love their variety of products and find their prices to be reasonable. It is my go-to place when I want to buy fresh flowers. They have a really nice selection and it won't break the bank. The store is laid out well. Once in a while, they do change the way things are arranged but I just like the fact that the store is relatively small and I can go in and out quickly. Not to mention the fact that I can buy products that are not available at other chains. Trader Joe's crew members are always very helpful and friendly. Shout out to Aleeza who helped me find my overnight oats! I enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's. They have a variety of different items that you can't get at other grocery stores. This specific location, their parking lot, is very small and tight, so parking can be tough and stressful. But once inside, the store itself is pretty spacious for trader joes. Some of my favorite items to purchase here are their dips, dark chocolate peanut butter cups, and frozen food items. Especially their orange chicken. I love making that meal at home. It's awesome, great flavors, and pairs well with their fried rice, too. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any frozne meals or snacks here, as everything is delicious. But those peanut butter cups are a must buy when shopping, lol. Their pre-made salad kits and sandwiches are some great pick-up items to eat during the work week as well. This place can be a little pricey compared to other shopping stores, but it's a nice switch up to come every month or two; to load up on items for the house. read more

This place would be a perfect 10 if they had a better parking lot! The parking lot is way too small for the amount of stores in the shopping center here... It is also a nightmare to get in our out of... All that aside, TJ is amazing!!! For those of you that do not know, TJ is owned by Aldi Nord! The 3rd largest supermarket chain in the world. TJ's has tons of self labeled items that are amazing!!! Most if not all of the store is organic, and sourced as locally as possible. From fruits and vegetables to meats and cheeses, its all delicious. TJ does a great job of finding really nice unique items from all over the place. My wife and I especially love coming during Christmas for their Christmas specials. Id list all the things we love from here, but that would be too long! Their frozen items keep really well, and with a tad bit extra seasoning, most people do not realize that it was frozen! We really like their frozen Chinese food. Their pizzas are killer also!!!! Staff is super friendly and helpful!!!! Store is always clean. They make sure that all the shelves are stocked properly all the time. All in all, if you don't mine a wait getting in to the parking lot, this place is a great super market. You will enjoy anything that you buy here. read more

I've lost my patience with this TJ location. They need to step up their protocols with proper food handling. I'm sick and tired of buying spoiled meat from this place. My wife bought a pack of 85% ground beef on Sunday. Tried to make my son a burger on Monday. Sliced open the plastic top and was assaulted by a vile fart smell. The expiration date is for next week!!! I really don't understand. No, we didn't save the receipt. And no, I don't feel like spending 5 bucks in gas and spending 15 minutes fighting over a parking spot to get a $6 refund. You guys ruined dinner. Thank you, Joe. Love Trader Joe's as I've been to many in New York. However, my first time shopping at this location, I left with some moldy ravioli. I didn't realize until I took it out of my fridge and saw the white spots through the package. So disappointed, and I never had the time to return to the store. I had to thoroughly check the rest of my groceries and eat my other ravioli's with caution. Not only this, but I had to circle around the lot multiple times to find a parking spot. Kind of inconvenient with all the one ways and small parking area, but I think it was during peak time, so it's understandable. This review is just based off my first time coming here, and I'm sure their quality assurance isn't horrible, so I'll definitely be coming back. I must say I am a sucker for flowers and honestly this Trader Joe's location has a great selection to choose from! Although I don't have many great things to say about their parking (always packed & small) their location totally differs. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful, not to mention everything is always organized and clean. Today was the first time my I stopped by this Trader Joe's. To me Trader Joe's has always been dependable, friendly and my go to for all my shopping needs. I am a healthcare worker and never had issues showing my ID at the door at other Trader Joes (Edgewater, NJ) where I would promptly be let in, with workers thanking me for my service. So it is of no surprise that it was extremely disheartening when I showed up to this store after working 12 hours in a hospital with sick patients to purchase some groceries for dinner; when the front door worker asked me "is there a reason why you cannot wait in line" of course I responded I just got out of work and needed to pick up a few items. In all honesty what answer is he expecting asking that kind of question? I would rather him just tell me to wait in line which I would have respected more than this condescending question. I would welcome him with open arms if he ever showed up at the hospital, but maybe my response to him should be the same if he ever shows up at my ER entrance. Thank you to this Trader Joes for honoring this frontline healthcare worker. read more

As with all Trader Joes, parking is tight and sometimes you will literally need to follow people out to their cars to just get a spot. Nonetheless, like all Trader Joes, the associates are all friendly and groceries are all quality products. I believe that there are only 2 locations that sell alcohol and this isn't one of them. There are associates in all of the aisles of the store, so if I ever need help finding something, which I frequently do, there always someone there to help me. I appreciate the cashier double bagging everything, there was this one time when a cashier didn't bag for me and I ended bagging everything myself, with one bag, and the bag totally failed on me. I love coming here and seeing them wipe down and sanitize each cart. Makes you feel extra safe. To top it off I walked out today after shopping and my bag ripped and food fell near my car. Yeah I know it's Trader Joe's, they're all trained to be super polite. This clifton location is something different tho, I mean they're always in a good mood. That's pretty much unheard of, in my book anyway. Yes, the parking is crap. It is a smaller store, you won't find your 2 buck chuck here, no alcohol for this location. Yes, this shopping plaza is crazy and it gets packed. Come during the week! That's my opinion, I never come here on weekends. I try to do my shopping here on weekdays. It's definitely more bearable. They always have a great stock of whatever you need, great cheap prices for quality things. Trader Joe's is known for their "as organic as it can be" ingredients, things you can pronounce. They always live up to that too. Some of my favorite things are their frozen veggie fried rice for quick dinners, healthy salad dressings (at a good price too), their cheese samplers, frozen dumplings, yogurts, healthy variety of snacks and last but certainly not least my dog LOVES the organic dried chicken breasts. I buy 6 at a time I swear the dog is 7lbs and he goes through them like no ones business. It's great that they offer organic treats for our furry friends too. There's fresh flowers as soon as you walk in, then you're hit with all the baked goods. Who can complain? Have never really shopped at Trader Joe's before but stopped bye after always passing it. It's a smaller store and it seems to get pretty crowded. They have a pretty good selection of things you won't find in regular grocery stores ( European candy, frozen dinners, snacks etc.) I bought chicken Parmesan on a stick, and frozen fried rice and they were both good and inexpensive. The parking lot is sort of a pain....it's on the end of a strip mall and was even packed on a weekday so be prepared to battle for parking. Being in this part of NJ is great in that you're never that far away from a Trader Joe's. This is centrally located on Route 3. And despite being in a very busy area, doesn't seem to ever be out-of-control busy like some other locations. Parking is ample. Once inside, you'll notice how open this one feels compared to other TJs. That's a good thing, because as any regular knows, weekends can get pretty nuts sometimes. The prices are a bit high for average items and there's really nothing special about the store. One thing for certain is that the Men's restroom is disgusting. Great TJ location. The key thing when planning to visit here is to get your timing right. Try to go during non-peak hours when it's teeming with customers and that parking lot is packed. I was extremely happy when Trader Joe's in Clifton opened, no more trips to Paramus or Wayne for groceries, yay! Ever since being introduced to TJ's a about 5 or 6 years back, I have done a complete overhaul of what I put in my pantry and how I cook. I am more conscious of looking closely at the ingredients in what I buy and because of that I love how Trader Joe's selection makes it easy to shop. A warning, by Saturday night this TJ's sells out of almost everything. I find that the best time to shop here is early morning (close to opening hours) on Saturday, the store is then empty and shelves stocked. As has been my experience at other TJ's, the staff here is very friendly and helpful. Last visit there a team member overheard my conversation with my children, we were planning out our menu for the week (home dinners and school lunches), the team member joined us to get suggestions and also offer ideas, pointing out things to us as we walked around the store. That never happens at Stop and Shop or A&P! Another favorite feature of the TJ franchise is that, they are not advertising and doing product placements of things I don't want my kids eating at their eye level. Its a relief that I can walk around the store selecting my shopping list while my kids are busy trying to find the shark or whatever the "goal" of the day is, so that they can get a sticker or lollypop at the end of our shopping trip.
