I am very disappointed with the treatment I received from Studio So Lara…read more I had two hair mishaps from their stylist happen in those 7 years and I never left them a bad review, I kept their names private and I still continued to go and give them my business. That's called class. However, recently I booked an appointment with them and went in for said appointment; which is 40 minutes away from my home only to be publicly humiliated. I was seated in the consultation chair in the middle of the salon thinking she was going to start but instead I was told very loudly in front of staff and clients that their products don't mesh well with my type of hair and that no one wants to touch my hair. It was very embarrassing, it was cruel, I felt so discriminated. Needless to say I will not be going back to that salon but it goes to show you that regardless of how loyal and kind you are to people, sometimes people are just not the same. Stay kind everyone, You never know The impact you will have on someone.

Great service, very talented staff, fun atmosphere…read more I had waist-length hair that had been the same for nearly 20 years. As greys started to come in, I was covering them with store-bought dye and it was ruining my hair. The final straw came after having a baby when I tried to "freshen up" my look by having a cheaper stylist give me blunt bangs (like in "The Devil Wears Prada"). I did NOT look like Anne Hathaway like anticipated. I needed help. A friend (with fabulous hair) recommended Dee, and she gave me a layered cut that added volume and movement to my previously deceased locks. She brought my colour back to a rich, highlighted brown from the shoe-polish black I had unwittingly progressed into. She taught me how to work with the natural waves that had shown up with the baby instead of against them. The products are high quality and work wonderfully. Everything is expensive*, but you get what you pay for. *They offer a "T-Zone Touch Up" for a good price (that makes sure your colour lasts between cuts) that really helps extend the value of your treatment. I can get away with a cut every 3 months instead of every six weeks now, so it ends up being reasonable.

They only use high end products and are one of the only places that specializes in interesting, funky haircuts and bright coloured dyes. Want a purple Mohawk? Want a pink and teal asymmetrical bob cut? This is the place for you! The fun and fashionable ladies at Deeva will be sure to give you the exciting and well done haircut you've always wanted. They're high end, professionally trained stylists who are good at what they do. They're not like the 'stylists' at the walmart 'hair salon' who basically close their eyes and snip blindly at your hair until you look like you let a two year old cut it with safety scissors. You will be happy with the results you get at Deeva Hair and you will feel fabulous when you leave! I recommend going there for your next haircut!

I went in on August 25th, and I was greeted by friendly staff who did not hesitate to spoil me in every way possible. Though was a "walk in" on a rainy day, I was quickly accommodated and I was given Taylor, a young stylist who is still learning. I was glad to have her and grateful for the head and neck massage I received with an Aveda product before washing and cutting began. SOOO Good!!! Other complimentary features included a hand massage and beverages on offer. The cut took a bit longer than some do, but given the circumstances, with a young stylist, I was fine with that. It was a great day to drink in and enjoy the experience. The cut turned out to be a very good cut, and I noticed that other clients around me seemed very satisfied also. Before the leaves fall off the trees, I'll be back!!!

Haircuts come with complimentary hot towel, scalp massage, and beverage (coffee/delicious herbal tea/Hot apple cider + spiced rum if you're lucky). I'm a guy so my haircuts aren't as complicated as many of the people reading this might be getting, but i can say that even for a simple "guy" cut, the stylists I have had take great care and have great attention to detail nonetheless. I have never been disappointed. Melissa is my regular hairdresser, but I'm sure the rest of the stylists are of the same calibre. I pay upwards of $25 for my haircut + wash. I had my hair cut by Jasna, I showed her a picture of a style I had in mind and what a nightmare it…read moreturned out to be. First handed she never used scissors to cut my hair, the cut consisted of using some kind of razor. No scissors were used, I requested the back of of my hair to be done with the use of an electric shaver... Anything I requested to have done she totally Missed the mark. At this time im very sick and wanted a style that was short and manageable. Nothing about the style was even close to the pictures I showed her. My hair was uneven and out of control even when I tried to style it my hair never Looked styled properly. I had no other option but to return to have my hair corrected and thanks to Caitlin I feel Like I was heard, she cut it to a style that is manageable and what a difference. The only drawback was I paid over 40.00 for the first cut and when I booked my appointment for the second haircut I was charged a second time as well. So, a hair cut that should of cost me over 40.00 Now cost me another 30.00 to fix Jasnas mistakes. I never had the intentions of paying 70.00 for a style that should have been done correctly the first time.. I dont know about you, but I dont have that kind of money and if I did I certainly would have gone to a reputable salon.

Normally I'd hunt around, but having driven past this nearly hidden salon along the river I decided to give it a shot! And boy do they do things right! Not only were those who worked on my hand talented, friendly and inviting. (I'll keep their names private as they know who they are.) but the atmosphere here is wonderful! You're greeted with a smile, given a lovely and comfortable robe, offered drinks from the on-site coffee bar as you get primped and preened! I went a bit outside my comfort zone this time around. Opting to do something a bit more out of my norm than usual and I have to say, I have never been so happy with my hair as I was when I left today and for the first time in a salon, I didn't feel judged on my choices or preferences. Which I more than appreciate. I highly recommend this place to absolutely anyone in cambridge or surrounding area looking for a new salon! I must also add special note to the scalp massage after my toner was done. Pretty sure I was in heaven at that point. It was amazing. Thank you much and expect me back plenty in the future!
