When I was getting my hair washed, I had the BEST scalp massage, and felt so relaxed. I was having a bit of an identity crisis about my hair, and Jordan patiently listened to me, looked at the pictures I had brought, and offered her opinion. When washing my hair, they give a new girl who thrashed my head around like a noogie, not comfortable. Also they got water everywhere soaking my clothes. Then the owner moves super fast because she's behind & I get a super fast 15 minute haircut with so many flaws. A terrible faid, terrible neckline shave. For years, I didn't think it was possible for my hair to achieve a natural looking blond colour. After a terrible colouring job elsewhere, I went to Lisa to help correct it. She did a phenomenal job fixing the horrible blending the job that was done at the other location. She lightened my hair so that the blond came out beautifully. I am very disappointed with the treatment I received from Studio So Lara…read more I had two hair mishaps from their stylist happen in those 7 years and I never left them a bad review, I kept their names private and I still continued to go and give them my business. That's called class. However, recently I booked an appointment with them and went in for said appointment; which is 40 minutes away from my home only to be publicly humiliated. I was seated in the consultation chair in the middle of the salon thinking she was going to start but instead I was told very loudly in front of staff and clients that their products don't mesh well with my type of hair and that no one wants to touch my hair. It was very embarrassing, it was cruel, I felt so discriminated. Needless to say I will not be going back to that salon but it goes to show you that regardless of how loyal and kind you are to people, sometimes people are just not the same. Took a long time to log us in for some reason, then I got my haircut which was slow and of poor quality. Though the majority of haircuts are for men, this was far from the quality barbershop type experience. None of the shaving the back of the neck, offering to trim eyebrows, or ears, no offer of product in the hair, had to remind her a few times of the razor number for sides and back. But worse was my son's. So bad in fact that we will be going to get another cut tomorrow. He asked for a number 3 on the sides and back and got a number three just over the ears so effectively a mullet! Uneven haircut with one side longer than the other, and lots of uncut random hairs. Unbelievably bad. We'd had some bad cuts here before about 10 years ago and thought we would try it again since we were passing by. Big mistake.
