Tracy did an AMAZING job this past weekend at a luncheon we hosted for an intimate wedding gathering for 12 in Santa Monica. From my first interaction with Tracy, she was clearly a professional and inquired about our food likes/dislikes, allergies, etc in order to come up with a unique, personal and creative menu for our party. The choices ranged from a roasted beet salad, tortilla espanola (spanish style omelette), coffee rubbed filet and a truffled mac & cheese to name a few. Her "farm to table" approach was very appealing to me and sure enough, her choice of ingredients, flavors made the meal extra special. Tracy not only arrived on time and ready to get started but throughout the morning that she was preparing the food, many of the guests attending would interact and ask questions about the ingredients, menu, etc. We were aiming for an intimate, family gathering and immediately she became part of the group. Her unique style and amazing personality made it seem like she was related to one of us and this was another meal being prepared for her family. She is so good and natural at what she does that when we had an issue with the oven/range come up, like a true professional she went with a plan B and voila! crisis resolved and food was on the table. I'm a little nervous about writing a review for Tracy because I want to make sure she remains available to cook for my family. She has been preparing both family meals twice a week as wells as special occasion dinners for us. Family Meals: Delicious! I don't usually eat chicken skin but I eat Tracy's chicken clean! Tracy provides an extensive list of menu items that you can choose from- or you can describe anything to her and she will make it and it will be better than you imagined. I currently cannot eat nuts or dairy, but with Tracy's creative meal preparation, I do not feel like I'm missing out. All of the food arrives neatly packed and labeled, and sometimes with instructions right on the container if it's not a regular item for us. What did I ask for my birthday last year? In-home Tracy dining! Surf and turf. Not only is she an amazing cook, she is also a lot of fun and super sweet! She even apologized to the lobsters as she placed them in the boiling water. She appreciates all food and where it comes from. We also hired Tracy to prepare breakfast for the wedding party and family on our wedding day. Waking up to the smell of her cooking and then coming downstairs and seeing the beautifully prepared breakfast spread felt like a dream. After having her and her amazing talent in our lives, we were nervous when we found out she had to leave for a short time. But Tracy, being the professional, considerate person that she is, coordinated for us chef trials far in advance so that we would still have fresh, healthy, organic food while she was on leave. After speaking with Tracy via email and phone and confirming her availability for my event I was having, she emails me a week before the event to tell me she has booked another event! I had to scramble around and find someone to hire for the event in a weeks time! I have never worked with someone so unprofessional in my life. I have had the honor of Tracy cooking for my family consistently 3 times a week for the past 2 years. She is a Master Chef literally. Tracy was a finalist on the Master Chef show a few years ago and in my opinion should have won. I can't imagine anyone being able to top Tracy's cooking. Tracy's specialty is meats; whether it be beef, chicken or fish. She knows how to extract maximum flavor and the perfect texture. Very creative with many of her other dishes as well. Often times creative and artistic people will have quirks but Tracy is a true professional. She's punctual, organized and courteous. When Tracy cooks in my home, she leaves the kitchen spotless. Everything is nicely tucked away. When I go to 4 to 5 star Yelp reviewed restaurants, I'm often disappointed not because the restaurant was necessarily bad but because I eat healthier and tastier food at home with Tracy's cooking. I can not say enough amazing things about Tracy and her organic/healthy catering. I contacted her to cater a business lunch in Hollywood, an in-office event with about 30-40 people. She arrived early, the presentation was absolutely beautiful and the food. THE FOOD. I am a foodie albeit a healthy one. And her food was exactly spot-on to my taste. We had kale salad, mixed greens, chicken salad (with greek yogurt of course), cheese and charcuterie platters, sandwiches, etc. etc. My clients kept telling me how refreshing to have food that was fresh, healthy, and filling. Tracy has been cooking for my family for both in-home meals and as dropped off meals 4-5 times per week. Every week, she provides a suggested menu for the upcoming week, which we then customize. When she cooks dinner at home, she will make enough food for breakfast and lunch the next day, which is nicely packaged into reusable containers and labeled with the menu item and date. After cooking, she cleans up after herself and leaves your kitchen cleaner than when she first got there! If she doesn't actually cook at my home, she comes in the afternoon and drops off dinner for that night, then breakfast and lunch for the next day. Again, they are all packaged into the reusable containers with labels. Tracy's cooking is AWESOME!!! When ever I go out to a restaurant to eat now, I'm not able to enjoy food as much because her cooking is just straight up better than what you can get at any restaurant. She is very good at listening to what your needs, likes, and dislikes are as they relate to your dietary restrictions, allergies, and your personal taste palate. I recently found out that I'm allergic to dairy (who the hell is allergic to dairy? Apparently I am.) Tracy worked with me to not only find new menu items, but also going so far as to research and find alternative options to cooking the same foods I like but with slight variations to remove the dairy. Tracy has also provided meals for bigger dinner parties. Again, not even breaking a sweat as she's cranking out michelin star worth food! She can do it all, from cooking for a few people, to a family, to big parties. The types of food she cooks also ranges from French, American, Asian, and everything in between. Added bonuses to having Tracy as your private chef: - She's just an awesome person to know and chat with. It's not like you're paying a private chef to come to your house and cook for you, it's more like having a friend over who happens to be cooking for you. - She's cranking out the food but she's not even breaking a sweat, all while keeping the kitchen tidy and food organized as she's cooking. - Having Tracy help with kids good is amazing. Now I can send fresh homemade breaded chicken nuggets or fish sticks in my kids lunch boxes vs. the frozen processed ones. - Tracy is always willing to throw in some cooking tips/advice. I attended a pop-up event of Tracy's at the Love Shack in Venice Beach CA. The atmosphere created by the art gallery/furniture store, combined with the table decorations of hydrangeas, burlap and tea lights made the event feel personal and cozy. It was attended by about 25 people and there was plenty to eat and drink. The four-course meal was wonderfully diverse and complex but was accessible and filling. My favorite was the Maine lobster with fried lemon, prosciutto, avocado aioli and truffle chips on an English muffin, and the whipped goat cheese tart with almond and thyme crust. And ALL the ingredients were locally sourced! It wasn't until the dinner was over and we spoke to Tracy did she admit that the venue didn't even have a kitchen and that she had to bring everything in to make the night a success. I would have NEVER known the difference!
