I was traveling through Andrews, TX back on July 25, 2026 when I remembered I should pick up some…read moredog food before getting home. Tractor Supply was en route. Unless you're from the area you might miss it driving by as it is tucked off away from Highway 385. Easy, ample parking out front. Matthew, my cashier, gave me a huge discount on my little lady kernel corn Tillandsia plant (photo posted) because he accidentally butterfingered it scanning it. It fell onto the counter yet didn't break. So I got that for $1.64. It was already marked down to $3.29 from the original $12.99. My dog's Iams senior food was not in stock, so I grabbed a 4Health 5 lb bag of lamb kibble ($12.99). For a picky dog, she actually liked it. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards program.

Vintage Soul Mini Mall is an adorable boutique with new and vintage gift items…read more My oldest daughter and I popped in on their soft opening on 5.1.2025. I was so excited to learn that the owner of the previous business still owns this building and has really cool stuff still. These are vintage items, not antiques. I'm vintage. Or so I like to tell my kids since I was "borns in the 1900s." Bruh. *face palm* They had cookies & lemonade for us to enjoy while we perused the multiple small rooms of items. She has some women's clothing, jewelry, tumblers, and so much more. Adorable shop! Very affordable prices! Support local businesses. If the parking is filled up front, there are more spaces around the back. PS - thanks for giving my daughter stickers to put on Mr. Man. Lol. (A mannequin with a flowerpot for its head that was greeting everybody as they drove by.)

Barron Paint & Equipment is adjacent to the NAPA Auto Parts store in Hobbs, NM. They sell paint and…read moreequipment for automobiles only. They are basically the same company. Here's their main website to give you better grasp on the situation: https://napa-bsp.com/barron-paint-equipment/ On 11/18/2022, I came here to pick up a "3M Stripe Off Wheel Adhesive Remover Eraser Wheel" (#07498). There was not a soul in sight when I walked in. I figured they were in the back grabbing parts in this DIY territory. Straight off the shelf it was marked $61.49. The 3M double-sided 1/2" molding tape (.05" thick) I needed near it was not price-labled. I thought, damn, I should've ordered it on Amazon (as no one else in town, e.g. Lowe's and Home Depot, carries this item in stores). I grabbed them both. Then I waited for quite some time to come to the register. Probably too long. Finally a few minutes, in walks two employees. The first asked me if I had been helped. Lol. The wheel/kit came out to $42.96 while the tape was $15.49. I'm okay with these prices to support local folks and not having to waste more cardboard and time with places like Amazon. #ShopLocal #HappyThanksgiving #DIYprojects #AutoParts

I have been searching for a few things for my new house…read more My mom asked me, "Have you been to Nam's [Antiques & Collectibles] behind Big Lots?" It donned on me finally where this place was. Getting here is like driving through a life-size version of Ninetendo's Excitebike: the parking lots are filled with huge potholes, speed bumps, and unmarked spots. (Did I just show my age with that analogy?) There is free parking. Once inside, they don't allow large bags due to shoplifting. Some spaces are so tight that I would have hated having an oversized purse. Their vendors have mostly recognizable boundaries, so in the case that an item is (unusually) unmarked you'll be able to ask for the price without too long of a wait. There were quite a few pieces I would consider if I was move-in ready. There were tons of books I'll most likely be purchasing in a few months. Plus some nice jewelry & home decor antiques. Great finds at Nam's with friendly, assistive staff members.

Massey's Small Animal & Equine is a pet boarding service in Hobbs, NM…read more Julianna is the only employee I have ever dealt with. I needed a place for my large dog, and she graciously answered all of my questions via text in a reasonable amount of time. This is BY FAR the most affordable place I have ever been to. In saying that, here are a few tips: Julianna is flexible, but try your best to drop off and pick up when you say you will if she is available. She cannot guarantee availability. Text before arriving there. Julianna prefers texting because she usually cannot hear on the phone when she's taking care of all the animals. Lol. For everyone's safety - with pets going in and out at various times - plus a busy street in front of their shop, Massey's keeps the front door locked... so text! Bring any and all food, treats, toys, and bedding you want your pet to have. My dog is healthy. Needs no medicine. She has no major behavioral issues, so I'm not sure how specialized this place may get... Venmo payments are accepted. Rates for my dog were $25 per day as of June 23, 2025. My dog stayed a total of 7 days (drop off 9 am on June 18 and picked up before 4:30 pm on June 24). Final notes - my dog LOVES Julianna. My girl didn't even get sad when I left. LOL. Guests are to stay up front. Once I left, the friendly pet-sitter placed my dog in her own separate kennel and allowed her "big yard" play time 2-3 times per day by herself. It may not be high end boarding or a luxury setting, but my dog came home happy, healthy, and with no issues.
