First: Without fail, lately long lines are everywhere. I understand because I also work a register. Tractor and Supply no exception to long lines. There were plenty of red shirt employees around in the rear area of the store so why keep people who want to give you money waiting? Second: I had a two for $10 item on sale. There probably six people in line with various items to purchase, it was a wait. One cashier. Finally another employee came up front, maybe someone cross trained. I bought two items on sale for $10. Then it rang up the wrong price but he said "nope, two for $15. I had double checked the sign against the product and knew I was correct. We go back and forth a bit. Like he's doing me a favor he offers to change the price. It's not a favor. It's the principal. No customer likes to wait too long to buy something, and, no customer likes sloppy pricing on merchandise. Bait and switch is not what you want your customers suspecting. Everyone is human, I run a register as well. Your customers bring a lot with them when they enter a store. Whatever burdens that may be on their plates. To insure people want to return I suggest to TS, to watch the front end, make sure if someone hops on a register they don't assume they are right. Isn't the customer always right? read more

Super nice and helpful employees who are always willing to go above and beyond. However, they have an absolutely brutal and rude manager who is quick to insult. Even while training a new employee who felt the need to apologize on behalf of their manager, she was just really unprofessional. read more

I stopped here after a couple other garden supply places did not have some wooden birdhouses I wanted mainly for decoration on atop of a couple fence posts in my backyard. The front clerk told me what aisle, I grabbed two, and BOOM, checked out and on the way home in a flash. High score for good service and they had what I wanted, at a great price too. I have been here before, but not for a few years, but it is good to see they are still a good place to shop. Last time I bought a dog igloo for my cats that never use it. The igloo was put on FB Marketplace and was gone within minutes. The price was one no one could resist-free. At least it should be gone this afternoon when they pick it up, but we know how no-shows are. read more

My wife and decided we needed a push lawn mower and off to the internet she went in search for the best machine at the best price. Her mouse landed on the HSK 21 inch, 3 and 1 lawn mower sold at Tractor Supply for a discounted $199.00. What a deal. She ordered it on line easily and selected the Scarborough location since it was only minutes from our house. I stopped by to pick it up and I wish I could tell you the pick up went flawlessly, but I can't. Evidently, the mower was on-site , but behind me several large pallets of merchandise. This was a small 10 - 15 minute inconvenience and the manager decided to take an additional $50 off. Now that is customer service. Kudos to you, Tractor Supply! Another big plus is that when I got the mower home, assembly was very easy and just as advertised it started on the first pull. read more

A lot more than tractors Tractor Supply has been around for a long time. The very first store started back in 1939 out in North Dakota and they even had a mail order service before that. Back then it was really a tractor supply company. Now it is a whole lot more. Tractor Supply is a very successful company that now has over 1,200 store in 46 states. The reason for it's growing popularity becomes obvious once you go inside. It's a unique store that has so many different and cool things. Sure it still has hard core tractor stuff. All kinds of weird thingies that are probably only known to tractor people. Also welding stuff, pumps and lots of different tools for lots of different purposes. Some common but others very arcane. But the store has developed into other directions. It probably always had food and gear for cows and horse but now sells stuff for more ordinary critters like dogs, rabbits and kitties. Lots of stuff for campers and RV's and a nice section of lawn mowers and small tractors. Also fences, lots of lawn and garden and even some cool clothes and toys. This particular Tractor Supply in Scarborough is similar to the others I have been in but with perhaps a bit more of a beachy look. The employees are very cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable and just plain nice. I love every Tractor Supply I have been in. A very cool and eclectic store that has a whole lot more than just tractors. read more

Tractor Supply? Clothing. Pet supplies. Bird seed. Baby chicks. Yard tools. Plants. Lots of Etc. Tractor Supply has their own private label sunflower seeds for birds that I buy for my chipmunks. Their brand of birdseed is the ONLY one I could find online and locally that has no additives like extra vitamins or preservatives. Wild animals, in my opinion, do not need extra fortification beyond their natural diets. I know it's not natural for chipmunks to eat Cutie oranges, organic grapes and handfuls of sunflower seeds from a human hand, but I draw the line at additives. Will no longer shop here. Bought two Coleman Go Karts and used twice and they are both already broken! Tried to return and the manager of the Scarborough Maine location spoke rudely to me and said "no! We are not taking those back!" And walked off. After hauling both go karts all the way there after a man on the phone claiming he was the manager on the phone. With no help or advice on a warranty or repairs. Was given the run around in the beginning to even pick these up when ordered. I've reached out to corporate with just a dead end reach of help. Contacted Coleman company and was given a false number for contact, they emailed me saying they were sorry and was going to help but finished the email off saying they were going to close this case. I have spent over $3000! The State of Maine has a warranty law for up to four years, tried returning these within the 30 day policy with receipt and all paperwork, but still was mistreated, no help, no advice, still haven't gotten anywhere. I have been a very much dedicated shopper, but no more. I'm now working with the state of Maine attorney general. Hope something good comes about this. Because this is no way to keep or treat your customers. The Scarborough Maine location needs a little bit of work. I DO NOT recommend this store. Would rather go to another supply shop! I was greeted by a friendly cashier. Other than that, it went downhill. It is very difficult to maneuver between aisles. I frequently bumped into things, had to move things, and a couple of times I just gave up trying to get down an aisle. I bought 6 small items and requested a bag. It really baffles me as to why they named the store Tractor Supply. It's so much more than that. It's really a very well stocked hardware store that also has clothing, boots, pet supplies, little toys and trinkets, power equipment and more. They even carry a guilty pleasure of mine...old fashion burnt peanuts. This particular store is always clean and orderly. We are very frequent customers at the Scarborough store We went to the Scarborough store 11/24to get propane at 6:20 pm and they don't close until 7pm. Just needed 2 grill tanks filled and they said they were not filling propane any more this evening as they have locked the gate. We have been 15 min before closing and it's never been a problem. 40 min before closing and wouldn't fill the tanks. I think I would rather travel 40 min to the Windham store multiple times a week than go to the Scarborough store. Update 12/3/19 we went to the Scarborough store at 6:30pm and closing time is 9pm. We asked to have propane filled and Joanne said sorry I can't do that. "Something is wrong with it. I'll have to call someone tomorrow" This statement is very hard to believe as this is the second time this has happened by the same woman in less than 2 weeks. It's beyond frustrating. We understand that it's cold out but this is your job! We unfortunately will probably shop elsewhere. read more

Worse customer service I've ever had in my life Joanne the cashier told me to be quiet when I was talk, she was huffing and puffing while rolling her eyes as she was ring out my order. I'm not one to complain but she literally ruined my day due to her attitude and made me feel so unwelcomed. Asked to speak to a manager and she asked "why?" Then she proceeded to tell me I couldn't purchase my items today and I'll have to return in a few days to buy them. I'm writing this letter to let you know how fortunate you are to have the manager Scott Lingley as an employee. after renting one of your trailers, upon the return of the trailer an unfortunate incident occurred. I became totally incapacitated, and an employee notified Scott. He came out of the store with two chairs, sat and kept me company while waiting for the ambulance he called. I was then rushed to Maine Medical Center in Portland,as it turned out I was diagnosed with having a seizure and further treatment and surgery I was diagnosed with glioblastoma and future treatments are going to be necessary. All that being said, I cannot thank Scott and his crew for helping and saving my life and all their concern. The manager and his staff went well above the Call of Duty,my wife Elsa and I thanking them all so much. We would greatly appreciate your recognition of this hero. I really like this store. It really is amazing how many different categories of things they can fit into a relatively small store. Tools, pet supplies, farm supplies, clothes. You name it they probably have at least oncopying stock. If I need almost anything right now and don't want to deal with the hassle of the area around the mall, I will stop in here first. 7 out of 10 times is saves me a trip to one of the big box stores. read more
