Since moving here this past year, I have seen improvement in this store. (Possibly new store manager?) While the store is a little run down (and sometimes smelly) I can see a lot of hard work that has gone into merchandising and keeping up with current trends despite limited resources. The staff is consistently kind and helpful and the store is kept as tidy as possible. During a recent trip, the registers/card readers were down. The sweet girl at the register maintained composure through grumpy customers and having no assistance in an overwhelming time. I come here for hodge podge stuff like binders and organizational things for work, things to hang on the wall in my house, kitchen gadgets, shower curtains, and the occasional clothing item and shoes. Finding something that I like is hit or miss. Hitting up the household clearance section is a MUST!

A 5-star Walmart!!! I stopped here after a job interview in the area and was pleasantly surprised…read more Yes, it was your typical Walmart, well stocked, best prices in comparison to most other stores. My issue with all Walmarts has always been CUSTOMER SERVICE. The store itself was definitely typical but what was atypical was the amount of people who worked in the store that were actually NICE! I was looking for an item and I could see in the app that it was in stock but only at this location. So my visit here was very intentional. Since I had an interview in the area, I planned days before to go to this location for the item. It was a hard to find item because it could have been in multiple places but the app didn't have the aisle listed. I had to stop multiple employees and each one of them never acted annoyed, never acted bothered, always stopped and pulled out their pocket device to help me. After I'd finally found the item, I went to checkout and the cashier was even super friendly, very conversational and smiled during the entire transaction! I left blown away because I don't think I have ever had an experience at Walmart that left me eager to do a review. All Walmart staff need to take notes. This Walmart is 30 minutes from my home so it's too bad I likely won't return but definitely one for the books as far as Walmarts go!

Great place to shop!! Lot of great deals in this store. Employees are always very friendly, helpful…read moreand polite. The reason i'm only giving it 3 stars is because of the way the employees are treated. I don't know if it's a corporate rule of just the manager's decision in the Fort Pierce store but employees are not allowed to sit down! This is against the law. Have you ever tried to stand for 8 hours behind a counter?? It's torture on your feet and legs. I know, i had to do it as a teller. Since those prehistoric times companies have been sued for this and LOST. It's very unhealthy. Please, Big Lots, allow your cashiers to sit in a chair behind that counter when there are no customers present. Some miserable Karen may complain but everyone else is more understanding than that. https://blogs.cdc.gov/niosh-science-blog/2014/12/09/standing/ You are breaking the law Big Lots by not allowing their cashiers to sit while not ringing up customers. https://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2012/448.05 Please fix this.

They don't employ enough people for obvious reasons. With the exception of the front counter, very rarely are there any customer service people to help you. On any given day of the week, you see scenes like the photos I posted throughout the store. The property manager needs to spend some money and repair this eye sore.
