We made our way over to Zapateria La Cabana, and were able to check out the store for his Tejana, and grabbed some souvenirs for the fam! It was a nice surprise when we got to meet the owner's son, Alex. He helped us find a good Tejana for my brother-in-law, told us about his family and their business, and also gave us a shirt and a sticker when we purchased his hat! We aren't very versed on sizing, styles, etc., and his staff wasn't either. However, she was kind enough to call him and let him know we were interested in a Tejana that he'd recently posted to Instagram. He wasn't in the area, but asked if we'd be able to come back around 3 o'clock. Since we were on explorer mode, we said we'd be back. So, we went to a couple other places and then came back around 4 thinking we lost the chance we were hoping for, but luckily, we were greeted when we walked in by the gentlemen, the hat pro, Alex. Honestly, the questions that came up about the hat were overwhelming, and I had to facetime my brother-in-law to answer them. However, the service and conversation I was able to strike up with Alex was great! He was so friendly and helpful, and very appreciative that we stopped by. Also, he was impressed that a family from Las Vegas followed his page, and they made the stop from their trip to see his products! He said that his family had a smaller shop, and they just purchased the shop we were visiting because it was a bigger space. He mentioned how it was pretty busy for the area, to us it seemed slow, but we're in Vegas, so we're used to shops that are filled. They have a great variety of Hispanic items for your view! There are hats, belts, a lot of different shoes, the hats of course, belt buckles, keychains, shirts, pants, just a bodega filled of random items that will allow you to browse and for sure find something you're looking for. There are also different hats that are available for purchase, not just the Tejana we took with us. If you're in the area in Bridgeton, and need something to do, and something to be able to explore, find, or purchase, stop by and visit Zapateria La Cabana. You won't regret it!

I have to say that this place frustrates me. I adore vintage clothing and have been in the store…read moreonce before and it was quite cute. But there are no actual real "hours" and it seems they just open the store when it's convenient for them. And today there was an open sign out, but when I went to go in I discovered the door was locked and there was a sign instructing you to ring the doorbell for someone to come down. that's just a little too weird for me - if there's an open sign out I assume it's actually open. would be a great place if there were real hours I think, but oh well! EDIT 3/23: In response to the comment the owner posted. I am a regular vintage and antiques shopper and am used to "non-orthodox" hours for business. but regular hours. whether it's only one day a week for just a few short hours or more, but some sort of set hours. I don't make an appointment because that's once again very strange as I am just interested in browsing (I would set up an appointment if there was something in your etsy shop that particularity caught me). I was very interested and looking forward to seeing what you have that day, but was simply turned off to the fact that I felt like I must be inconveniencing you since you did not have the time to be down in the store anyway. All I am saying is that if there's an open sign out I don't expect to find a locked door, and I would have happily stopped by to see the store again when it's actually open and changed my review if you had not responded in such a rude way which makes me not want to give you my business, which is a shame since I enjoy supporting good local businesses.

Sometimes you can hear her two children laughing and kittens scrambling around above the shop. I live not far from Bridgeton. I once ordered a lovely Irish linen vintage blouse from her online store and paid for the shipping, since I wasn't sure if it was at the shop or is it had to be ordered in. One day I hear a knock at the door, and her husband handed me a box, explaining where it was from. When I got it inside, I unwrapped it and found the blouse and an envelope of money- the amount I paid for shipping. Talk about great customer service!

I suppose it's a great location opposite of where I live closer to the city. It's cute and filled with little gems literally and figuratively. As I perused the large store filled with goodies and trinkets I was pleased they carried "Love Your Melon" products. I saw plenty of accessories and clothing all of which were stylish and fairly trendy. It was a quiet way to spend my lunch hour. The boutique jewelry was well priced and all I could think about were the number of gifts I could check of throughout the year. Gift for me, gift for her. The clothing unfortunately I didn't even bother. I am too tall and bigger than the average woman. I stayed in my lane. I absolutely loved this place. There were so many unique items for her, your car, your loved ones. Wellness, peace and beauty was a consistent theme. Bath bombs and soaps, hats, scarves, purses bracelets if all kinds. There are some books too. I'll be back really soon before the spring and summer merchandise takes over.
