The parents aren't allowed to be in the room with them while they rehearse because they want the performance to be a surprise in the end. If you have short errands to run or want to gather your thoughts, this is a perfect time to do so, other wise you're just sitting and waiting. After the class the teacher comes out and gives a brief review of how your child did that day. They are very polite and courteous.

Her class is pretty large and she's the youngest, and I'm always impressed with the three young women who are leading the class and their ability to remain calm and kind with a room full of high-energy 3-5 year old girls. My daughter is notoriously the one in the class who, when the kids do a little showcase for the families, is not dancing along with the group, and she's all good with it. She loves her teachers and has made a few friends. The clientele is a mixed bag of different walks of life, which I really like compared to some dance classes I went to as a child.

This place is definitely the place to go to learn something new…read more They have amazing classes such as dancing, PiYo, and all sorts of things, quite a lot of art classes. Photography, art, dancing, voice lessons, acting/drama, and working out for some. To keep track of their classes and schedule they use a really awesome app called "MindBody Connect". They even have a summer workshop going on this summer which my little brother and one of my niece's are going to. They also have a ton of groups! Some of which are the Writer's Inspiration Group, Artist Support Group, and Writing Group. My mom goes to the PiYo classes and enjoys them a lot. I displayed my art there! That's right, you can display your art at this wonderful place! Just contact Byn, the owner and ask. My art is currently hanging on their walls as of 05/24/15 (it may not be there in a few weeks). The decor is beautiful, it has a kind of Tumblr feel to it, yet vintage in a way as well. Large crystals sit on unique tables in the cozy first room. Plenty of sitting space in the first room as well. Their dog wanders throughout their place, greeting customers and trying to even attempt to go home with them! The dog is really well minded, and it just will steal your heart as you go to your class(s)! This place can be difficult for some to find, but that's because it's in a interesting building behind another building. There is also a tree which can block the sign which is why some people have a hard time seeing it. My dad and I had no such trouble and parked in the large parking lot happily. The confusing thing about going in is that next to the door to their place is a door for another place, which I know nothing about and was closed when I went. I almost went in there though! Whoops! *chuckles* There is then a hallway inside from the first room which leads onto several other rooms, one is a office room, another a photograph room (where they take photos!) and another is a storage, and another a makeup room. But a little off of the first room is the room where you would learn dance and have exercise classes, big mirrors and nice floors for working out are in this room, even a SUPER tiny kitchen. Overall, the Always family is so kind and generous and definitely fun, don't be afraid to ask them questions and figure out what you want to learn. I think they give such a needed addition to Tulsa by adding a place where all can learn, talk and have fun. Don't forget to check their site so you can see ALL the listed classes because they keep having more and more classes!

Currently she is in the 2nd division of Pre-professional. I am so proud of her! ok, enough bragging. I think what sets this school apart from the rest is they are very traditional and stick to rules and expectations. They also pay attention and encourage a healthy lifestyle within learning the craft. They recently added TBCD II, which is a ballet company for the professional dancers to start their career and have a better chance for them to be able to join a company in their desired location. What a great tool for dancers. Everyone that works for this non-profit organization is very kind. They also hold auditions every year for the Nutcracker and other performances for the younger dancers to be involved in the performance arts held on the big stage at the Tulsa Performing Arts center. You can see the evidence…read moreexamining the parked cars, the spectrum of services typically offered at a country club, and the what I call "the new shoe parade" (adults over 40 wearing the most trendy athletic shoes). Glaring discrepancies: - the men's bathroom stalls don't stay locked efficiently and have a peek-a-poo gap you can use both eyes to see through. They'll spend money on fake plants, yet won't fix what's needed (this applies to other issues as well) - so far this summer, the outside "hot tub" is either disgusting, jets don't work, flooded with kids under 12 (there's a rule against that), or it's closed off - when it's busy, you'd swear no one in the greater Tulsa area is going to any other gym at that moment - it's succumb to the "Premium" disease. Some things you can't do unless you pay more - and a general membership is already pricey - if you want to play pickleball - good luck. They change the schedule of when the courts are available for whatever types of players. If it's free play, you might end up waiting awhile before you play again. There's only 3 courts. That's all for now. I'm sure there's other issues. Those are just from my lens. Two stars simply because it has so many services. Think "Costco" of gyms. It's got a dystopian feel and it's up to you how much kool aid you want to drink.

I've been pretty busy these last few months, and haven't had as much time to come here as much, but…read moreI've got a bit more free time again and have made my way back. The main difference that I've noticed (and I guess the reason for this update) is that the staff doesn't seem as interactive. And I kind of mean this in a good way? They used to have workers stand in the entryway upstairs, at the top of the straits landing between the two sections of workout equipment. This always felt a little awkward to me, like they were just watching everyone exercise (which was their job, so they were) and it was probably weird (and super boring!) for them too! It was nice that they were more available for any questions/ issues that way though. Now I'm not sure where they are? So maybe something between those two ways would be good... I'll also say that a few months ago, the staff was always super welcoming when coming in and leaving the building. Recently, I haven't really seen as much of that. Honestly I'm not sure if I miss that, or if I'm cool with just being able to walk in and just kind of stay to myself and go on with my way lol. I guess again, maybe something in between would be good. I think maybe one reason for this is that everyone knows how to use their cards or their phones to check themselves in, so there's less of a need to have someone right there at the door all the time, to be fair. Not gonna change my star rating even though there are some changes, just because I feel like the differences are more neutral in my eyes. Not necessarily better, or worse, just differences! I just wonder if these were intentional changes or not...?

The pools are virtually unusable. If you take a tour and they try to give you the line that the therapy pool is around 95 & the regular pool is about 86, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! The heaters have been broken for MONTHS now. That's right, I said months. The temp today was 76 in the therapy pool & 78 in the main. Even when they were working, the temps would range wildly. They were never the same temp twice. The therapy pool could be 83 one day and over 100 a few days later. They. Just. Don't. Care. They refused to add proper chlorine to the pools for months as well. It took repeated calls to the health dept to get them to FORCE them to get it up to level. "Oh, how bad could it be?" you ask. The proper level is supposed to be 7.2. The therapy pool was .2 to .5. For MONTHS. That is very dangerous & unhealthy. They were cloudy all the time and smelled. The saunas were down for a long time. I was told there was black mold in the ladies locker room one for a very long time, but even at that, they refused to fix it. Or CLOSE IT! Even with black mold. The showers were broken for over a year before they got fixed despite dozens of requests to fix them. It was not a complex plumbing issue, it was REPLACING A SHOWER HEAD!! Get the picture? They care about your money, not you. Then they will not spend any to keep things fixed. They will tell you anything to get you to sign up, but if you ever have a problem, you are all the way out of luck. So if you believe the "C" in "YMCA" stands for "Christian" - nope. WWJD? Care enough about people to keep things fixed.
