I hired Doublejay Assemblies to install a $2,700 playset, paying approximately $1,200 for assembly…read more Unfortunately, the outcome was extremely disappointing. Despite being asked not to use certain tools, they used an impact driver that resulted in multiple areas of split wood. Materials were placed directly on wet grass and walked on, leaving visible dirt and footprints on what was brand-new equipment. By the end of the installation, the playset already looked significantly worn--closer to something that had been used for years rather than newly purchased. There were also multiple workmanship and safety concerns: missing or improperly installed parts, incorrectly drilled holes, exposed and protruding screws, and sections that were not securely fastened. Loose screws, bolts, and washers were also left scattered throughout the yard. The installer did return to address some of these issues, and while the structure is now safer, the work remains incomplete. Cosmetic damage is still present, putty was left visible across the structure, and services that were paid for--such as varnishing--were not completed. I was told additional parts would be ordered to finish repairs, but I am still waiting for follow-up. Given the cost of both the product and installation, the level of care and workmanship fell far below expectations. I would strongly encourage others to review all details carefully and consider alternative options. Photos are included for reference.

After researching ten moving companies through Yelp, Reddit, Facebook, and personal…read morerecommendations, I decided to work with H&U Express Moving. Although the company did not yet have many reviews, I was impressed by its business profile, particularly its strong ties to the local community. I also appreciated that both owners are graduates of Jesuit High School New Orleans, my alma mater, which has a longstanding reputation for developing responsible business leaders. After discussing the details of my move with William, one of the owners, we estimated the job would take approximately 2.5 hours. Ultimately, the move lasted more than seven hours, with all four movers working continuously throughout the day aside from a brief lunch break. Every item was carefully packed, disassembled when necessary, protected, secured for transport, delivered safely, and reassembled exactly as requested. The team even took the initiative to dismantle my kitchen table to ensure it could fit through the doorway. Throughout the process, the movers maintained excellent communication, consistently keeping me informed of their progress and alerting me to any potential issues. Their professionalism, work ethic, and attention to detail were outstanding. I would highly recommend H&U Express Moving to anyone seeking a dependable and hardworking moving company. Excellent job from start to finish.

I rarely leave reviews, but people should know…read more I hired this company after they responded to my Facebook post. Before accepting the job, I described what needed to be moved, told them it was a second-floor apartment, and sent the owner photos of every piece. Despite that, they sent only two movers, who worked over two hours loading my belongings. By the time they reached my apartment, they were exhausted and said they could not carry it upstairs. They told me they had not been informed it was a second-floor delivery, so they were not prepared. Instead of completing the delivery, they left my bedroom furniture and kitchen table upside down beside a dumpster. After my first Google review, the company publicly stated that they offered three movers and I declined. My screenshots show no such offer. When I asked why three weren't sent, they said they chose only two. They later stated I agreed to have my furniture "set to the side near the dumpster area." My photos show it left upside down beside the dumpster, among the trash. After seeing another review showing three and four movers, I questioned why only two were sent. In our texts, he acknowledged that he didn't send a three-man crew because he thought I "didn't have a lot of stuff" and assumed I wanted to save money. I showed him every piece and was never offered more than two movers, only a truck-size choice. For three days, I begged them to help retrieve my furniture. I was willing to accept the damaged furniture as-is; I simply wanted them to finish the delivery I had already paid for. Instead, they refused and demanded another $180 to bring it upstairs. The owners then blamed me for not calling, but I relied on their movers as company representatives to have the information needed to handle the delivery. If the company had a storage facility available, why didn't the movers know about it? They watched me call two storage facilities I could not afford and offered no other solution. I believed them when they said my furniture was too heavy and my armoire too large for two people to carry upstairs. I only became upset after two strangers from Facebook carried the same furniture upstairs with no problem. I had to retrieve my furniture from the garbage and have strangers carry it through the parking lot in front of my new neighbors. They charged me for three hours, plus an additional half hour for leaving my furniture among the trash. They then demanded another $180 to retrieve it and bring it upstairs. By the time I got help, my furniture had been outside for days. Several drawers no longer work, the wood was damaged, and my table was destroyed. I cannot afford to replace it. The night I posted my Google review, the owner called twice after hours--not to resolve the situation, but to tell me how unhappy he was about my review. His attempt to pressure me into removing it was extremely concerning. I have screenshots, texts, call logs, photos and recordings. Their public statements differ from our conversations; compare them with the documentation and decide for yourself. I chose this company because they told me to look at their five-star Google reviews. At the time, they had 40 reviews, all five stars, so I assumed they must be a great company. I didn't realize a negative review could disappear without notification. I only discovered mine was gone when I went back to edit it. Today was the third time I posted a review. I am concerned that a genuine firsthand review could repeatedly disappear without notification. There is now one one-star review that remains visible. The owner responded by labeling it a "fake review" and "fake account from Christina Jenkins," even though the reviewer did not identify the person by name. This took an emotional toll. I lost sleep, cried, and had to ask strangers for help. Strangers showed more compassion than the company I trusted.
