WARNING never consign here ! I naively brought a bunch of new toys here to consign because as selling them online for awhile but had stopped recently. They make you sign a contract so that each time you need to know your balance you must show face in person (so if you move what happens?) we'll, they send you a check to your updated address BUT can't disclose how much it is over the phone LOL I asked for my stuff back and they said NO wow! I'm not able to show in person regularly nor am I willing to continuously update my address nor do they even have my address because I'm private: I have consigned many many places for various hints, jewelry, bags, clothing it's always straight forward. You can see or ask how much you've earned and they pay you period and if you want your stuff back they give it back. The person I spoke with said a lawyer wrote their contract so obviously it's set up legally in a way that makes it difficult for sellers so once they have your belongings it's almost easier to just abandon them there unless you're extremely local with a bunch of free time and no privacy concerns, extremely predatory and I'm going to look into my rights . Drive to Alameda sell to toy safari avoid this place at all costs. read more

I had a terrible experience consigning two items. I came by the store around 6 months after I had first left the items to check if they had sold. They looked at my account on the computer and told me there was no sale on record. I came by again today (probably 6 months later) and again they told me nothing showed on the account. I asked to take the items back, and they couldn't find them on the shelves. Then the owner claimed one of the items was missing a part so they got rid of it (without contacting me to see if I wanted it back) and then he had to search the computer back-up files for a record of the other item which he then told me had sold over a year ago. (which means it should have shown up as a sale the first time I came in, and which he wouldn't have given me credit for today if I hadn't asked for it to be returned to me.) In other words, they didn't track my consignments. It doesn't seem like a scam...the items were hardly worth subterfuge, but it does seem like extreme incompetence. If you consign with them, make sure they give you some way to track each item you leave with them. And if they tell your consigned items haven't sold, ask to see the item(s) on the selves. read more

This shop is an excellent resource for toys and games and puzzles. I haven't consigned here, but I have had good luck finding nearly new items for fair prices. (Shhh... Santa has shopped here a couple of times.) Games and puzzles are surprisingly expensive new, and some get lots of play, but most don't click with kids for whatever reason. It's great to have a source for items that are clean and guaranteed to have all the pieces and yet are priced low enough to justify getting played only a dozen times. The gentlemen at the register was super helpful. They have toys ranging for all ages. A coworker recommended this place to save a few bucks on toys and everything seems to be gently used. I was a little disappointed in the prices for some items. Some things might be worth buying new as there is only a dollar or two difference for buying new. Outstanding hobby shop toy store, great for adults and children. Just please be mindful of the items they have for sale. This isn't a regular toy store where your kid can just grab some thing. The item may be 30 years old, like an old Star Wars figure that I would like to collect. They were able to help me in a pinch on a very difficult to find item. Amazing customer service. I love the variety of toys here and the staff are always helpful. I also love that these toys avoid the landfill. They have some good niche toys like specific cards or lego people or classic Disney movies, but their prices aren't always best on bigger items (think marble tracks, STEM sets, more recent board games). As a former Lego builder and collector, they always have a wide selection of assorted bags and completed sets in boxes which are priced accordingly. Tyler's Lego knowledge is as deep as mine, and what a pleasure it is to that the Lego sold her is assembled by someone with a deep love and respect for such a venerable toy. Yeah so pretty much this store needs a perfect score. They have toys for everyone.. and I mean EVERYONE! I've seen toys for babies up to toys that grandparents could remember from when they were kids. They have the classic action figures, Polly pockets, and everything in between. I'll also let you in on a little secret, they have video games. From nes all the way to 360 and ps3 and everything in between. They have consoles as well and the prices are great! They offer toy consignment for customers (not during Covid) to sell their stuff as well. Every time I come here everyone is always so nice and patient. Give this gem a try. This is a goldmine for quality used items. This is not just a toy store, nor a used Toy Store. It is a part of your childhood you can revisit. Many items they own outright, however they take wonderful consignment items. I really didn't see any junky items. Just fun stuff. Books, dolls, wagons, action figures, the list is endless. Also a ton of Collectible items. Star Trek, Star Wars, Magic Cards, Pokémon, comics, and so much more I just had to stop myself. The most amazing assortment of new and used toys in the bay. Looking for a piece to a play set? A random character to drive toy trucks? Some exotic animal to round out your critter collection? A specific bit of train track? This is it and more. And SO clearly organized. What a feat! Fun ever changing book selection too. My sons favorite is the exciting rotation of trucks in the front window. Old school metal tractors like from my childhood (though sadly expensive of course), to the astoundingly detailed plastic Bruder trucks at more affordable (vs new) prices! Jigsaw puzzles have become a favorite pastime during the Coronavirus shelter-in-place restrictions, and I turned to Toy-Go-Round recently when I began my last puzzle. After sending an email asking about puzzle inventory, they wrote me back with options and prices, plus pictures. We settled on my order over email, and I was able to call them to make payment over the phone, and then go to the store to pick up at their door with minimal contact. I appreciate their assistance and their care in maintaining social distancing and in sanitizing the items that buyers come into contact with during a purchase/pickup. Our home is full. It's full of love, but fuller still of STUFF and trying to get rid of it can be a little rough especially when each of our two charming little boys have trouble letting go of any of their many toys. They tripped, they fell, and worse: were running out of space to play, but then we found our Toy Go Round, and WOW! it saved the day! Now all I have to tell them is "let's go to to the used toy store! We'll take some toys that you don't need, and maybe find some more!" It's painless to drop off the toys, and you'll never regret it Just one month later, you check back and find you've lots of credit! I play games for a living (I'm a speech therapist) and I usually end up buying them myself, so I really appreciate Toy-go-round's used prices. I love that Toy-go-round recycles gently loved toys for children of all ages. I loved that their toys are all clean and all the pieces are there. I love that they have batteries in all their toys, so you can try them right there. I love the sheer amount of toys, books and games that they stock. Today I bought... preschool toys, reading games for my autistic student, glow-in-the-dark building materials, star wars potatoheads, a book, two puzzles and a handful of small plastic cats. Everything was under 85 dollars, but it would have easily been 150 dollars worth if I had gone to a big box store. It's a small store and sometimes can be really crowded with kids and their parents. I tend to notice which toys that are grabbing the attention of the children. One thing, there are some "new" toys interspersed throughout the store and these can be a little pricey, just be sure to check the price. I hope I can encourage you to enjoy this store as well, AND bring in those gently loved toys that your children are no long playing with... so I can buy them!!! (I know, I am sooooo greedy!) Toy-Go-Round is literally stuffed to the gills with excellent old toys, new toys, and weird toys. A marvellous children's book collection. Toy Go Round provides a wonderful service to the community by selling on consignment used toys that would otherwise go to the landfill. Kids who are getting older and their parents get to make some cash and clean out their garages and closets, while younger kids and their parents have a chance to buy perfectly good toys at great prices. I haven't been in Toy go Round in many years, but when my kids were growing up in Albany, this was our favorite store. I recall about 3 locations over the years, and I'm guessing that this is still a corner location. When your kids out grow their things, this is where to take it, since it is a consignment shop and you get an account & can periodically pickup your earnings. But I, & Laura & Ben used to love finding treasures here. I especially liked their used, but usually complete, jigsaw puzzles, since I was a puzzle fanatic for a long time. The store has always been friendly & the 2 ladies who originally ran it [ I don't know if they still do] knew how to run a very good business. Anyone could take lessons from them on how to do it. We always felt welcome there & always left with fun stuff. I have a grandchild now & by writing this have convinced myself that I need to go shop there again! read more
