She's…read moreprogressed to dancing pretty much every day of the week, learning technique, getting stronger and most importantly becoming more confident in herself, even outside of dance. She's now in 7th grade, which can be a tough time for a young girl but her dance family at TMC has provided her with a positive atmosphere that has supported and encouraged her without fail! I am eternally grateful for all of the instructors and owners at TMC for cultivating this wonderful environment.

My daughter is having a lot of fun and is making much more progress, much faster, than she had at other studios. It's really a shame she wasn't here all along. I agree with another reviewer--read the hidden reviews. These reflect my daughter's experience there. Can't imagine why they are hidden.

My dance teachers would NEVER have been so nice. I don't know what those other reviewers are talking about. When I talk with parents, they can't say enough about how sweet the director and teachers are. They also teach solid technique. Knees over toes. Square hips. Proper terms by the time they're teens. Technique that won't harm your kids' joints and will set him/her up for doing well in advanced work. The studios themselves are great, too--sprung floors, Marley, full mirrors, proper barres. They put on great shows multiple times a year with roles for students of all levels. I'm taking off one star only because the place isn't strict enough for someone to go straight from here to a professional school--but I think a lot of parents will LIKE that. My background is Balanchine (SAB) and Vaganova, but locally, I've taken classes at Baltimore Ballet and at Peabody. Baltimore Ballet would be my choice for drop in classes, adult classes, kids classes, supplemental classes, and anyone who wants the chance to perform. Definitely read the reviews that are"not recommended at this time." They are clearly from real students. The reviews that aren't hidden are just weird. All ballet schools require a certain color leotard, extra payment for performances, etc. Baltimore Ballet's performances are spectacular. Lots of class time involves rehearsal for them. If you don't want to pay, then don't, but don't complain that your kid can't participate. December = Nutcracker in dance.

I called on July 15 to discuss my family's in-progress move and was only able to schedule an appointment for July 23. During our meeting, I wanted to cancel the contract, but he said I must keep making payments until August, even though an extra fee was charged to my account right after signing. We're moving away, making it impractical to attend classes, yet they insist my child participate in a promotion ceremony on August 23 and that I can only withdraw after that. It's frustrating because my child isn't receiving proper instruction; although we have videos proving he isn't engaged, the instructor claims otherwise. This program seems more focused on profits than education, and I'm left confused about how to end this situation, especially with concerns about potential charges for August, September, and the mystery additional charge already taken.

My son is almost 4 and we've been coming to Kids First Swim on and off since he was about 6 months…read moreold. We started with Mommy & Me and now he is in Level 1 group lessons. This location is hit or miss. First, the building itself is just okay at best. We always come in the evenings and since the shopping center also houses a tutoring place, a karate place and one (or two??) dance studios, that time of day it's mobbed. It can be tough to find a parking space and traffic is crazy. Once you're inside, the place is is as clean as it can be, but always is damp and funky. I guess this is to be expected of an indoor pool. Parents have a place to watch the kids in class and chairs are provided. There's a small play area for kids to play in while they wait to go into the pool. Changing rooms are available (but funky/stinky) and there are also locker rooms with a shower. There are changing tables and hair dryers available as well. Some of the staff are great, some are not. We had one mommy & me teacher that we LOVED and one that we couldn't stand so much that I wanted to get my money back. If you know that you cannot make a week before you book your session, they will allow you to prorate it so that you don't have a to pay for a missed week. Sessions go six weeks at a time and you get a "report card" at the end stating if your child is ready to move up to the next level or not. Group classes can be up to 5 kids. The more kids in the class, the harder it is for the teachers to keep up with them, especially at the very young age. Many of the 3 & 4 year olds are afraid of the water and the teacher will spend part of the class trying to get them to just get off of the steps and that wastes a lot of time for kids who are farther along. If you can get a class that only has a few kids in it (no more than 3), you are better off.
