Thankfully, they put the pillow there to make it look nice

DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. Literally, stay ANYWHERE else in the world but do not stay at this disgusting and dangerous "hotel". We strictly stay at Marriott hotels and have never had any problem like this... how this hotel can fly the Marriott flag is beyond me. We checked in here for a 6 night stay after already staying at 7 other Marriott hotels across the country. I would like to say the 1st thing we noticed when walking into the FIRST room (in building 2) was the horrendous smell but the huge stain on the couch really caught our attention (see attached photo). After seeing my son's reaction to the stain on the couch, I went to the front desk and talked to Justin who thankfully put us in a different room. A room, directly next to the one we had. We went up to check things out and although it didn't have an enormous stain on the couch, there were many other issues but the main one was still the awful smell. Obviously, we could not stay in this room with that smell so I went back down and requested that Justin put me in a room in the main building, the one he was in, the one that didn't seem to have that terrible smell. He obliged, begrudgingly, like he couldn't be bothered and gave me a comment like, "Well... I don't clean the rooms". I suggested that maybe he should take the short walk across the parking lot to the other building so he could see what he just checked me and my family into, but he did not care at all. He thankfully gave me a key to a 3rd room. At least the smell was gone, but It was not clean. There was dirt on the walls and the kitchen was not ok. I was afraid we were going to be stuck here for the next 6 days without hope and honestly, I felt fear for myself, my wife and small children. This was not a clean and safe place and it was very scary. Then my daughter went to try to use the bathroom but came out to inform me that the toilet was clogged. After a deep breath to try to calm down, I called to Justin at the front desk and explained that although the room doesn't smell and is slightly better than the other 2 rooms, this room has a clogged toilet that needs to be fixed. This is where things went off the rails a little bit... he actually told me to come down to the front desk and get a plunger from him so I could plunger the toilet MYSELF. After a bit of yelling, Justin made it clear that he has absolutely no "F's" to give and he certainly wasn't going to plunger it for me, nor call a plumber to fix our issue. No, he (and the USELESS SUPERVISOR, CHRISTINE, HE CALLED AT HOME) told me to either plunger it myself or my family can stay in a room without a working toilet. Desperation kicked in so I went and got the plunger but upon attempting to even try to do it myself, it overflowed. Thankfully, by this point my wife was crying to a wonderful customer representative at Marriott who totally came through for us. She got us out of this AWFUL hotel and into the Westin across the street which was absolutely PERFECT and called Justin at the front desk to explain the situation. As we were leaving I stopped to drop my keys and inform Justin that the toilet was actually overflowing and it's probably an emergency now but he just looked at me and rudely asked "you're still here?". We left and thankfully had a wonderful and safe visit somewhere else. The best part of this story is the next day they charged my credit card $125 for the broken toilet. This was the worst motel stay anyone could ever have... Please do yourself a favor and stay at the Westin, or literally anywhere else.

    Stained couch

I was given a room in an entire building smelled of smoke and cover up. Upon entering the room I noticed paint chipped walls, food and utensils left from the previous guest, a couch I wouldn't touch because it had large stains all over it. I called shortly after checking in to see about changing rooms and the phone rang 20 times before I hung up. I then tried to reach someone through the app but no one responded. Thankfully I was only there one night but I will NEVER go back and this place should be stripped of the Marriott name as this is the only reason I chose it to begin with. Poorly managed property to say the least.

Thoroughly satisfied with the check in process, plenty of parking, and spacious two bedroom suite. The cleanliness could have been a little better and the cleaning staff took our floor mat and towels without replacing them. Other than that it was a very comfortable suite for our family of four and a quick twenty minute drive to Philadelphia.

Do I have to give it a star??? Booked a 2 bedroom suite to see my daughter thru surgery and had to leave on arrival. DO NOT BOOK HERE. It is the most deplorable, filthy hotel I have ever been to and baby I have been some places! Furniture was worn out, is that period blood on the sofa?? Stove, microwave, fridge, cupboards, sink, dishwasher were disgusting. A whole tray of bacon grease in the oven, trash in the trash can... is that vomit on the floor?? Oh, how nice... a skid mark in the toilet. Windows were unlocked and screens were pulled back so maybe someone was 'staying' there (except the room across the hall had all the same issues so I doubt it). The furniture and general repair of the room was run down as well. The place looked like a voucher motel if you know what I mean. The only positive about this experience was that I received a full refund. After trying to move to the room across the hall and finding it to be WAY WORSE, I asked the unphased clerk at checkout if this was commonplace and she said they are having staffing issues... ok, but that doesn't make it acceptable to check me into someone's dirty room. JUST DON'T DO IT... YOU WILL REGRET IT! Do not trust the Marriott name on this one!! Sadly we had to relocate at 10pm the night before a 5am surgery.

This is a Marriott property and has been well maintained. The two bedroom suite looks like an apartment. It has a living room, two bedrooms, a full kitchen and full bathroom. There's an onsite laundry room if needed. The office where you check in has two computers with a printer if you need to print a boarding pass or take care of something else. They offer snacks for purchase in the office. Do they offer breakfast? If you want yogurt, toast, bagels, dry cereal with milk, waffles that you make then yes. This isn't considered breakfast but continental breakfast. They advertise breakfast as if it's a full breakfast, which I was expecting. Surprisingly, there was no fresh fruit available i.e. bananas, pears, grapefruit, etc. You're able to check in using the Marriott app from your smartphone which I did prior to arriving. The mobile key feature in the app hasn't worked here or at my recent Fairfield Inn & Suites stay. The office staff are friendly. There's an outdoor pool and grill. The pool is open when the manager is on the property. A small room to workout with some equipment is available too. I would have given this 5 stars but I deducted a star because they advertise breakfast and was told the same when I called prior to arrival but they only offer a continental breakfast.

First the check in: I requested a 2:00 pm check in which is a hour earlier than the 3:00 pm posted time. I showed up at 2 and our room was ready. Check in was smooth and quick. The desk clerks were very nice. Our room: Seemed very clean. No problems at all. Didn't even find a stray hair. Bed was firm but not too hard. We didn't use housekeeping during our stay. So can't say anything here. The location did seem to attract some traveling school kids. I assume with sports teams. Of course you have kids you can have hallway talking and running. Of course this is not the fault of the property. Luckily this wasn't too bad. They found their rooms at a decent hour. Let's talk breakfast: Not bad at all. Each of the three days was a little different. Eggs, potatoes, French toast, waffles, bagels, pork sausages were all offered at one time or the other. All were hot. Let's talk about breakfast clean up. I witnessed the front desk folks cleaning up tables at the eating area. They did a great job with this, which allowed a lot of folks to roll through. The area: seemed safe and free of homeless or riff raff. Numerous places to eat, get gas or even shop at Walmart. So I do recommend this hotel and if back in the area would stay at again.

Next, I got into the smelly & defective elevator. I wondered if I accidentally hit a button the first time it called for Help. But then when it did this on my ride back to the lobby, I realized it wasn't me. This venture back downstairs was to ask about the "Sky Lounge" listed on the app as an on-property dining option with light bites. I was hoping to find libations, as I was trying to escape the persistent vacuuming right outside my door past 7PM. I encountered a pushy & sarcastic bartender at a bar in the corner of the lobby who said the "Sky Lounge" didn't exist. I ordered a vodka & soda from her to take back to my room since the lobby was still rowdy (a few hours later)--no soda could be detected so one can assume it was flat--just like this hotel stay.

Rooms have minor signs of wear, water pressure isn't awesome in every room, pantry is very small and is effectively a vending machines worth of goods, and breakfast is some type of eggs and a mix of mostly shelf stable breakfast items. However, the beds, linens, and pillows are reasonably comfy, even for bigger people. The rooms have just enough for cleaning up after a rough day, and the room noise is usually very minor. There's also a dunkin within walking distance if you want a quick coffee. The common areas are very clean, and there's lots of light in the halls and elevators. They also do some minor holiday deco in the main hall, which is a nice touch. Pricing is high if you're trying to entertain a group of kids. The casual traveler won't find much here to be entertained by. But it's a great place for the traveling worker to bed down for the night.

I once got on the elevator to go to the third floor, another person was there going to the fourth floor, the doors closed, the elevator paused at the third floor, then proceeded to the fourth. I had to re-press my floor, then it worked. No more free lemon water outside the elevators. Lack of cleaning routines in the common areas as crumbs were all over the floor and splash marks on the elevator doors. Provided in the rooms were enough towels for three showers. Needless to say we were out of towels after the first morning. I had asked the front desk if they can kindly replace the towels and empty the trash in our room when we left for the day. Upon returning late at night, nothing had been done to the room. Approached the desk the next morning and they were very apologetic and said they would bring towels and empty the trash at my request. I did not want to disturb my partner, but I did call down later that morning and they did come right up. I have a beef with the hotel industry in hole because of their lack of maid service, this just puts an exclamation point at the end of it. The front desk, though friendly there seems to be a communication breakdown between the front desk staff, and the maintenance staff. Pleasant demeanor and assurances at the front desk were negated by the lack of action by the maintenance staff. I needed to iron my shirt for the day and I got the ironing board out and proceeded to unfold it. It was broken. I wound up putting the ironing board on the bed and iron there. We approached the front desk and we were inquiring about cutting our stay short. We asked that our room be made up. We proceeded with our day and came back a few hours later. Our room was not cleaned. We found that the maid was still cleaning other rooms, and asked if our room was on the list to be cleaned. It was not. A maid supervisor knocked on the door and asked if we needed our room cleaned. We said yes. Had we not been there it would not have been done. Our room was painted with incorrect paint color. You could clearly see that they edged with one color and painted with another. You can see exactly where they stopped painting. Taking a shower is an adventure, as the temperature set at the beginning of the shower changes drastically to very cold, prompting immediate temperature adjustments. This happened all the times I showered. Our room also had a slight musty odor that appeared when the air conditioning was not running. One of my pillows also had a slight musty smell. On the positive side, the breakfast in the mornings were above board. Plenty of options to whatever you may like. The only thing lacking was fresh fruit.

Aloft one of Marriott's "modern" hotel lines (along with AC which is good). I've been at 3 Alofts because I like punishment apparently. So, what's wrong with Aloft? Look at the pictures. One is of the "closet". It's not a real closet. It can only hang 5 items because of the configuration. It has a shower curtain as a "door". And notice. NO DRAWERS. In fact, there are no drawers in the entire room. None. Everything is in the open. What modern person has essentially a non functioning closet and no drawers for anything? No one. That's who. Next is the edgy bathroom. This hotel is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Why you say? Look at the bedroom pic. That's a frosted window INTO THE SHOWER. See the shower pic to see the frosted window. How edgy that must be for a couple. Sure you can't see anything but you can see shadows. So do you want your kids trying to see if they can see mom in the shower? No of course you don't. Also, the shower section is barely lit so hopefully you can shower with your eyes closed in the dark. Finally, the materials are cheap and not well maintained. Everything is laminate fake wood and it's all peeling. And that's not just this one. It's been all 3. Plus plenty of other fit and finish stuff like the giant scuff on the wallpaper from the desk chair. Or the almost broken door lock. Oh and outlet placement is pretty terrible too at the desk. Now the good news is this hotel is next to a Millers. The wxyz bar is pretty good. And inside is a "high end" steak restaurant (not run by Marriott) which has a fantastic bar and terrible overpriced food (ok so that's not good news). I didn't interact with any staff so I don't know if they were amazing or not. Honestly, there are 20+ hotels in a 2 mile radius. Stay somewhere else. If you're Marriott, the Courtyard across the street is pretty good especially for the price. And if a manager reads this, don't reply back. Your best course of action is to find a better hotel to manage.

There was signs of wear and tear but nothing really egregious. The biggest detraction was the next morning when we were getting ready. My aunt left the bathroom saying that she couldn't get the shower to work. I went to check and sure enough, there was a hole in the back of the showerhead. A small bit of water was coming out of the front of the shower head while the rest poured out the back. Looks like we weren't taking showers (unfortunately as we had a long car ride ahead of us). I went to the front desk on our way out. It appears the air conditioning was out in the lobby (unfortunate during a scorcher of a summer). I let the front desk agent know that the shower in our room wasn't functioning and that they might not want to check anyone in to that room again.
