Delta Hotels by Marriott London Armouries

The Delta Armouries is a beautiful hotel. As the name suggests, it used to be an armoury. Part of…read morethe main building is the original armoury, but the tower where most of the rooms are, is newer construction. We were on the 15th floor and the view of the city was pretty. The elevator is part glass, so you can see the atrium as you go up. The aesthetics of the room is definitely nicer than your average 2-3 star hotel. It's of course more expensive than those types of hotels though. We paid around $260 a night. This included $15 a day for parking and a $50 credit for breakfast either through room service or at their restaurant. The paid parking is in a separate lot, not far from the hotel, but not connected to the hotel. There are not a lot of spots, so although you have in and out privileges, I don't know what happens if when you return, if all the spots are filled. This did not happen to us, but I could see how it could happen to people. Since our stay was during the Covid-19 Pandemic (not our preferred time to travel, but our journey was ultimately for an interment), we opted to get room service for our breakfast instead of dining in the restaurant. Like I mentioned earlier, our room package included a $50 credit for breakfast. My husband and I each got the Steak and Eggs Benedict (he got his steak medium, and I got mine medium well) ($17 each), freshly squeezed orange juice ($6.50 a glass) and my husband got a coffee ($2.50). There is an additional $8.95 room service charge. The food was actually quite good, but pricey if you are paying the menu price. The hotel is located downtown. Like with many downtowns there was a high concentration of transient people in the area. There is a homeless shelter not far away. My husband really liked the hotel. I admit that it is beautiful, but I personally prefer to stay outside of the downtown core, where it is cheaper and there is ample free parking, when I am traveling by car. If I was coming in by train (the hotel is really close to the train station) and didn't have a car for my visit, then perhaps staying in the downtown core would make more sense. Of note, their shampoo and conditioner smells really nice, lol.

Stayed here on the way home and thank god we only booked one night…read more.. The first room was dirty, dusty and unacceptable! There were white stains and debris on the floor, dust on the headboard, lamps and table. The bathtub was peeling and dusty. This is not a 4 star hotel. We informed the front desk and they moved us across the hall. The 2nd room they moved us to was slightly better but still not a 4 star hotel by any means. The rooms are dingy, dusty and feel unclean. When we told the front desk they just apologized and left it at that. The pictures make it look much better than it is. I did notice the good reviews are for the rooms on the higher floors. Even with paying for the higher room rate I ended up on the second floor where it seems they need updates. We stayed in the Delta Toronto the night prior and it was nothing like this location.

Beautiful decor! It is so elegant and heavenly white with classical or piano concerto playing in the background!! The dining area could not have been anymore romantic and intimate. My beau and I loved the open brunch table in the centre of the main dining area, where you can get endless servings of fruits including strawberries, pineapples, and dragonfruits!! We have never eaten dragonfruits for brunch at any hotel before! So exotic! We ate so many slices. Service was a collective team effort and everyone was welcoming, attentive and super friendly. I can tell that they all enjoyed working there from their seemingly genuine smiles and bubbly personalities! The food there was so good!! Everything was cooked to perfection! We had their prix Fixe Easter brunch special and it was worth every dollar!! What a beautiful way to celebrate both Easter and my beau's birthday!! My beau was so impressed and thankful of me for booking and paying for brunch here that he is planning to treat me here next year for his not so surprising proposal!!! When the staff knew of his plans, the receptionist immediately gave us a tour of their suites and amenities!! What excellent and attentive service!! I will definitely come back here in the near future for a couple retreat or weekend getaway!! Stratford is such a cute town with so many good restaurants and hotels open during their famous and busy Stratford Festival season, but this hotel and restaurant really stood out to the both of us!! 5/5 would highly recommend!!

A mix of the past with a touch of the new... a beautiful mansion turned into a beautiful hotel keeping the warmth of the beautiful wood but updated with modern amenities for your convenience... walking through the front door you can feel the history and can't help but instantly admire and respect the craftsmanship in every detail that was put into the railings, the stained glass and the textures and colours of the walls. A friendly greeting and pleasant experience at the front desk you are given a room key... Yes an actual room key... That opens the door to an outstanding room with all the same class and elegance of the lobby but with an updated bathroom, a king size bed and all the conveniences of a new hotel from the flatscreen TV to the mini fridge in the desk and an Nespresso machine for your morning or evening espresso... whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you're looking for, you need not leave the hotel, the House restaurant is every bit as elegant as the rest of the hotel with great service, a classy ambiance and excellent chef driven cuisine... You will not be disappointed!! This was an experience... A wonderful experience... That was brought to life not only by the hotel itself but by the wonderful staff that take pride in what they are involved in and reminding me of what service really is....or....what it used to be! Thank you so much to all the staff and I look forward to my return! Zeke

When I expressed surprise, the waitress informed me that it's always a buffet and people just know. I'm from out of town and they knew this when they took the booking, so just tell me. We were immediately seated in the 'wine cellar' not the main restaurant. This was down a flight of stairs which I hadn't been informed of. One of our party has mobility issues, so it wasn't a great start. The 'wine cellar' is basically an empty room that I imagine you hire for private parties, very basic with cheap tables, chairs and black tablecloths (not very festive). We were in this room with a large family group with young children and the kids were noisy and touching everything on the buffet table. One group of 3 older adults just left. We stuck it out with one other table of adults and that family. The food was just ok, but as is often the case with buffets, the hot food was at best warm. The mash potatoes and vegetables were borderline cold and utterly unseasoned. The salmon was overcooked and the beef was 'ok'. Desserts were Costco standard and the kids had already attacked them before anyone else even looked at them. This was a complete, dishonest money grab and it's had left a very sour taste literally and metaphorically. I very much liked the restaurant on my last visit, but this felt grubby and mercenary which means I doubt I'll eat there again.

I spent some time on the treadmill last night but didn't check out the pool. My room was big! The bed was comfy! Though it makes sense because that's where the water source is, I found it odd and gross that the coffee maker was in the bathroom. Continental breakfast, parking and WIFI (it was speedy) were complimentary. My room also had a microwave oven and a mini fridge. It was cold outside and I found it hard to keep the room warm. When I had the thermostat set lower than 77F, the heater blew out cold air, which was strange ... and I found 77F too warm. The hotel is just down the street from lots of restaurants and the White Oaks Mall.

(I loved their accents) The rooms are very cozy and clean, with no sign of bed bugs. The beds were great and the WiFi was petty good too. They did have 32" TV's, but the channel selection was limited and they're was no HD. :-/ I had a sight issue with slow sink and shower drains in one of my rooms, but it was just a minor annoyance. I told the front desk and they had maintenance come fix it while I was at work. The hotel had a small gym with a treadmill, elliptical, and weight machine, and an indoor pool. The breakfast bar was good, but nothing spectacular. It consisted of standard breakfast fare like cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt cups, fresh fruit, a waffle iron for DIY waffles, oatmeal, and hot items that varied throughout the week. The options consisted of sausage patties, Canadian bacon (aka ham), mini omelets, scrambled eggs which were a bit dry and had a weird texture, but I ate it nonetheless...I'm not picky. They had OJ, cranberry juice cocktail, apple juice, 2 different coffee strengths (regular and extra strength, and decaf). The lady working the breakfast area was very nice. The location is great, with a ton of restaurants within walking distance, and a Walmart close by do I could be with my people. Tony Roma's was a nice surprise, since all of the franchises in Cleveland had closed up years ago. All You Can Eat Ribs, baby! On the company's dime! :D Moxie's Grill is also highly recommended...Great food and gorgeous women to serve you! Oh, and downtown London is only a 10-15 minute drive as well. Overall, the Hampton Inn was a great place to stay during my 2 weeks in The Great White North, but since my company is closing the plant up there and moving production to a company in Mexico, I don't think I'll ever be back.

Kevin got back to me immediately and replied to my inquiry and we quickly and efficiently arranged everything. My friend and I arrived a bit earlier than we'd initially indicated, but both Kevin and Kim were welcoming and helpful. We were shown to a reasonable sized room on the second floor and all necessary amenities were explained to us. The decor of the place wasn't really my cup of tea, but the room was clean and cozy, so I can put aside my own personal aesthetic. The private bathroom was a decent size and well laid out. The bed was a wee bit smaller than I'd imagined, but it was very comfortable. My favourite part of my stay though hands down had to be my breakfast! Because Kevin and Kim knew we had an early start, they got breakfast going extra early for us. We started with freshly baked croissants, lemon poppy seed cake, and assorted fresh berries. DEELISH! Then we had poached eggs with hollandaise sauce with heirloom tomato on a wonderfully salty rosti. SO SO GOOD!!! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the splash of pesto on the tomato added a perfect kick. I was in heaven. I love coming to Stratford to see the theatre. Next year, I am totally coming back here, but I am going to make sure that I have dinner at the Old Rectory too!

Then you may drive past the chapel which is across the parking lot and across the road (formerly a highway which got diverted to cross the bridge over the 401) which created what is now a cul-de-sac. The water features in the front area are a nice touch. The hotel is in an interesting location beside the busiest highway in the country, but that noise is not noticeable in the rooms facing the chapel. I can't speak for other facings. There are various meeting and reception rooms with a generous lobby area. I didn't use the business area but there are two computers and a printer at the end of the lobby. There is now an elevator between the first and second floors (only two floors.) There is no pool or hot tub in the facility. The usual hotel heating/cooling system of the under window unit is in place (some folks can find them noisy.) There is an exercise facility on the upper floor. The included breakfast is a full basic hot/cold buffet. The bed in our room was comfortable. The carpet in some rooms is ready to be replaced as it is stained by traffic and stretched into wrinkles. They installed a nice TV but the channels on the analog section are confettied although the digital ones are OK. It would be nice if a power outlet was included in the bed side area/tables to allow charging electronics. The in room small refrigerator and microwave are probably appreciated by some. The usual coffee maker is on the desk and an iron and board are in the closet. In our case the in room private safe was unusable (someone else messed it up) but an interesting addition. There is also a standard hairdryer in the WC. There is nothing else nearby. To find anything in the area you must drive a few kilometers north. Comfortable stay is all I can say…read more Sheraton Four Points is a hotel in south London Ont that also doubles as a conference centre. It's immediately clear with the signage and multiple conference room doors in the large main lobby. The room we stayed at was comfortable and refreshed. The beds and pillows were of the right firmness and the room felt spacious very clean. The 4K TV had options to connect to YouTube, Netflix and Prime Video if you had an account. The room was relatively quiet during our stay. Microwave was available in the cupboard. One bottled water was stocked in the room but we were able to ask for more from the front desk. For amenities, the hotel has a large swimming pool, without hot spa. Fitness room contains typical treadmills, gym machine and dumbbells. There is also a games room with a foosball table, arcade games for quarter play and a claw machine. These show signs of the hotel age. One drawback is that there is no complementary breakfast. That said, they have a 24h automated coffee machine that made tasty latte and hot chocolate. Plus there are many local and fast food restaurants nearby just beside the Hwy 401 exit. Also, the bathtub floor was quite slippery. Skip it or hit it? This is a solid mid-tier hotel pick.

The booking was done under a package and came with a visa gift card through London Tourism (more later). The room was good and still does not come with daily turn up or new towels. The pillows were not comfortable and made the two nights longer than they should. The card given by the hotel, London tourism and the card issuer is useless and it got rejected right away at the mall and now when I see online it says the balance is zero. Trying to connect with the card issuer since the weekend (5 days ago) and still no luck. Not exactly the hotel's fault but to select such a issuer is the hotel's and London Tourism fault. Wonder if they test the card before selecting them.
