It's hard to say or write anything about Thee Farmer's Daughter without sounding like a paid…read moreadvertisement. I'll try but you probably won't believe me... When I think of the Sunday Breakfast buffet we had there today, the first word that comes to mind is Cornucopia: An oversized tray laden with fresh, sweet succulent strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries (yes, you heard that right), pineapple, orange slices, is a good place to start your feast. Even though the fruit and generous salad bar should precede the steam table, most customers made a beeline for "The Meats." We sat at the bar to keep the tables for others since we planned on eating copious amounts of food in a time-consuming succession of small plates. The bartender, Kim, is about as friendly and kind-hearted as anyone can handle in one person--And she makes great pickle juice Bloody Marys. There was an antique white enamel stove against the wall just a few feet behind us and she encouraged us to help ourselves to all the coffee we wanted. It was nutty, just-right strong, hot and delicious. We helped ourselves to many, many cups. It was so nice to not have to wait forever for a busy waitress to bring us more coffee. This is a big plus for serious coffee lovers. Small village bars in the area will offer Sunday Brunch but Farmer's Daughter is the only bona fide brunch that we've found to date. The meats range from succulent ham to large chunks of roasted pork, the veggies are imaginatively and tastily combined, the potatoes au gratin are better than expected. Pancakes, yes. Sausage and thick cut bacon, yes. Biscuits and sausage gravy where you can actually taste the sausage, all made from scratch, YESIREE, Pardner! Scrambled eggs and all the accompaniments you could desire. It won't be easy but do try to make room for all the homemade desserts--cookies, fudgy brownies, Chef's special Butterscotch cake...I can't remember it all but it was All Good. No review, no matter how ravingly positive, is complete without at least one criticism. So, much as I am loathe to bring it up, here it is: A few too many flies that really need to be under control. In a sub-par restaurant it would cost 1 1/2 stars. But, Thee Farmer's Daughter is so extra-specially good and gracious, that I refuse to dock them for it. Maybe the flies, like the rest of us, know a good thing when they see it. It's worth a trip to their web page to see their photos. It's newly renovated, complete with fireplace.

The quality and quantity was outstanding. Apparently Saturday night is the Prime Rib special and although I've not tried it, if this sandwich is any indication of the quality, I'll be back. I've been coming here for years; it's a wonderful bar/restaurant out in the sticks with an incredible view and atmosphere. The outside deck is a great place to gather with friends over a beer or old fashioned. The service is fast, friendly and efficient. My order was taken quickly and when the food came out it was piping hot. Good selection of beers included several quality non-alcoholic beers. I've had the pizza in the past and it's delicious. If you haven't come here to eat, you need to check this place out; you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend Norwegian Hollow Hideaway for food and/or drinks. It's a great ride in the UTV.

Our party tried a shaved beef sandwich, a Philly cheese steak sandwich, and a New England fish sandwich. All sandwiches were large, fresh, and full of flavor. Splurge for tots as a side...so generous, crispy and hot. Everyone was thrilled with the food! The chef/owner is an outstanding cook, then hustles to assist in every position, it seemed. Very nice to see. Our server was great, too. A+++
