On Time Supply - Ego string trimmer battery connection

From the minute, I walked into this business they were very friendly and very professional. I…read morebrought a ego string trimmer that I had for probably about two years but didn't use it cause I had a small more compact one, but I decided to use this one because I forgot to charge the batteries on the other one. As soon as I snapped the battery into the battery compartment, I saw a puff of smoke, but I didn't think anything of it cause I figured it was dirt or something but then when I went to pull the trigger on it, I just heard a quick click almost like when you have a starter problem on your car . I tried several times and then I called the company EGO and the lady had me taken the whole thing apart and said it was the head of the string trimmer that needed to be replaced but once I got things apart, I got a little sticky and she gave me the number of a company to bring it to. Well, the lady from the company gave me an address in 1144 Ridgewood Ave. in Ridgewood for some reason and I went hunting around hunting around couldn't find the address so I called the number she gave me and found out that it wasn't in Ridgewood at all, it was in New York Off of Airmount Road, which was 40 minutes in the opposite direction. When I arrived again again like I said in the beginning of this review, they were very nice and friendly, and I spoke to the person Oral who explained to me how to process had to go so that it could be warranted and I had to go online and I had to download a form and fill it out and bring it to him and then they had to confirm it with the EGO company which they did and it took approximately a week and a half, but the trimmer was all repaired and it actually didn't cost me a dime In the end Oral showed me all the things that needed to be repaired and we both chuckled and said it would've been simpler for them just to replace the item because almost everything was replaced on it but kind of like Washington DC works all red tape all waste and unfortunately time, but I will have to say this company was excellent and I will return when and if I need to have anything repaired as well as it's a great supply place you can find all the things you need for products like Milwaukee, DeWalt and it seems like a new companies on the scene called Flex.

TITLED: "Inept and inconsiderate with a total absence of decency and moral obligation. "…read more This is a sad and unfortunate story. Please read and BEWARE! I had an issue with my Makita multitool and brought it to them. They said 2 weeks the latest I would have the diagnostic. FOUR WEEKS LATER NOTHING. So, I called them. They couldn't find my tools; they had no idea what or when I dropped it off. If I hadn't followed up they would never have gotten back to me So I wound up being on hold for nearly 30 minutes. I got bounced around between some pretty rude people during this time who didn't have a clue about my tool; one guy I couldn't understand very easily due to his accent (Bit of advice, only have people who know how to pronounce English words talk on the phone to customers). However, they did say that they had looked at and diagnosed my tool. I came to realize they hadn't even looked at my tools. While I was on hold they must have been running a quick diagnostic OR, as I suspect, they made up an issue figuring that I would have them repair it, then they would do the real evaluation. So they get back on and tell me that the speed control devise is broken I need a new one. Then they gave me the price, $25 short of buying a new one!!!!!!!!!! I said no way! That was highway robbery. Now they could have come clean and said, sorry, we misplaced it and never looked at it. Honestly, mistakes happen and I would have been a bit upset, but I would have been okay with their honesty and perhaps even written a positive review because of it. But they lied; they made something up on the spot due to the fact that they were not qualified to diagnose the problem while I was on hold for 30 minutes. So I ordered the $22 part. Now in the mean time I bought a new tool because it was taking so long and, now I can see, they had forgotten about me. I needed it for work. So today, being stuck inside, I decided to finally get around to fixing my multitool and having a backup. It took 7 minutes to install the part from disassemble to close. A child could do what they wanted $75 to do. (Plus tax, tip and bottle deposit) I hit the switch FREAKING NOTHING!!!!!!! THEY LIED!!!!!!!!!! They never looked at it so they made up some part that was broken and it turned out not to be that part! What kind of human DEGENERATE would do that? Inept and inconsiderate with a total absence of decency and moral obligation. People like this should not be allowed to operate a business, when in fact the customer does not come first, when it is obvious through their blundering ineptness that they cannot even manage their accounts, when they have proven to be unreliable, insincere and fraudulent... Regrettably I am not permitted to use the fowl language that comes to mind. So, I spent $25 + tax on their BOGUS repair summary AND I bought a part, I can't return, that I DIDN'T EVEN NEED!!! Because of them! These guys don't have an iota about what they are doing. Summary take-away points: -They lie: they told me they looked at my tool when they couldn't even find record of me dropping it off. -They are inept: they couldn't even diagnose the problem correctly. -They obviously charge exorbitantly: they wanted nearly the price of a brand new tool for a simple 7 minute repair. -If you don't follow up on your tool you may never get it back -They are thieves: they charged me for a service I NEVER RECEIVED! I WANT MY MONEY BACK YOU DELINQUENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want them to pay for the part I ordered that is now going out in the trash along with my defective tool because by now it definitely is too expensive to repair with all the money I have invested in it. Just have to wash my hands of it. Advice: Don't believe them Don't use them Don't trust them Go elsewhere If they give you a price you can get it cheaper through someone else who actually knows what he's doing!

Absolutely terrible experience with a terrible company…read more There are a lot of details below for anyone who is interested, but the key point is that when they make mistakes, they're incredibly difficult to deal with and put the burden on the customer to fix the problem. They cost me a significant amount of time and money and never followed through on trying to make it right. I decided to purchase materials (Timbertech deck boards and railings and pressure treated framing lumber) from this company to rebuild my deck based on their competitive pricing, free delivery, and very positive reviews. This turned out to be a huge mistake. I ordered the materials a few weeks ahead of building my deck. The first time they showed up to deliver, the driver and I both checked the materials against my order and realized that they left out a couple key materials. I had time, and they told me they should have the missing parts delivered within a week. After not hearing back for a week, I called, and they tried to convince me to come pick up the materials myself. I declined, since this was their mistake. Another few days later they were able to deliver the missing materials. The last step of rebuilding my deck was installing the railings. As I started to unpack the railings, I found that both stair railings were severely damaged. One of the level railings was also damaged. I was unable to continue the project until this was resolved, which also meant that the people I had helping me would no longer be available to finish the job with me. I called Ridge Supply the next day. They agreed to replace the railings, but they asked me if I could pick them up. These are 8' and 9' in length, and even if it weren't their responsibility to fix, I had no way to transport something that size. They told me they should have them in a day or two and that they would call to let me know when they could deliver. After calling multiple times and getting noncommittal responses about delivery timing, it became obvious they wouldn't be delivering by the weekend when I needed to finish the project. I spent about $200 to rent a Uhaul so that I could pick up the railings. Upon inspection, one of the 3 replacement railings was also damaged. They agreed at this point that they would replace and deliver the final railing. They called me as I was driving home, and told me they had found another, undamaged railing in stock and asked if I could turn around (adding another 20-30 minutes of driving and 15-20 miles on my uhaul rental) to pick it up. When I got there to pick it up, it turned out to be the wrong size. I reminded them that this had cost me and extra $200-250 to fix their mistakes. I never got his name, but I believe it was the owner who said "they would have to see what they could do". Of course, they never actually provided any compensation. They then told me they should have the replacement ordered and delivered by the following Wednesday and that they would call me as soon as their supplier confirmed they had the part available. They of course did not call me. I had to call them to find out that the part had delivered, and to have them complain about how hard it was to get a driver out to me. It took a couple more very angry phone calls before they finally delivered the railing. On top of all of this, I had asked them to include hardware to install the posts for the railing into the deck. The hardware they quoted and sold me was not compatible with the posts, and I had to buy the correct hardware from Home Depot. I would never use this company again, and could not recommend them to anyone. They quote a great price, but the time and money I spent trying to deal with their incompetence and horrible service was worth more than what I would have spent somewhere else. Also, I was not impressed with the quality of the actual pressure treated lumber, either. I would say it was maybe only a little better than what you would expect to get from the big box store.
