They took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything on my bike was dialed in properly. You can tell they really care about their work and the customers. Unfortunately, the overall experience was a bit overshadowed by the owner. He tends to hover around the shop, constantly asking questions that feel unnecessary and, at times, a bit intrusive. It comes off more as a distraction than helpful oversight, and you can sense it affects both customers and the workers. It created a slightly uncomfortable vibe while I was there. If you're going for quality service, the mechanics will absolutely take care of you. I just wish the overal leadership from the owner Mo Karimi matched the level of professionalism as the mechanics.

I was envisioning myself in bed to read, nap, and scroll on my phone but Gavin had other ideas. He enjoyed the breaks in the room but wanted to do things. I don't blame him. He noticed this place as we were walking to get lunch earlier. We ended renting a surrey. It's meant for 2, both would need to pedal but the left side had the real steering wheel. Even when it was Gavin's turn to "drive," I still spun the dummy wheel though I knew it served no purpose. It was instincts. The path we took was along the waterfront which is the only path allowed. It was difficult to maneuver because there were a lot of people and a lot of people that are inconsiderate, too. Like a family of 6 walking side by side? Who are your parents that never taught you basic manners?! Service was nice. They hold your ID until the rental is returned. Gavin had fun. A helmet is mandatory for kids under 18 (free). All you pay is the rental for the bike itself. I'm not sure when will be our next cruise but we will definitely try this again but early in the morning so we can bike freely w/o people.

There is so much going on, from kids riding, skating, blowing bubbles, adults riding, skating, and blowing bubbles. It's such a magical spot, it's always brought a huge smile to my face walking or riding down here! I use to come when you could ride scooters lol and one time a friend of mine collided with a bicyclist and she broke some bones. Needless to say, just be careful and if you're not advanced, a helmet would definitely be recommended.

They let me test ride both the Tarmac and the Roubaix as much as I wanted, and they provided incredible insights based on my body measurements, riding style, and goals. I bought a bike today, and every employee that I dealt with was smart, helpful, and attentive. While I was there I watched other customers and their interactions. All good. I moved to San Diego County after 40 years in Palo Alto and was a customer of the legendary Palo Alto Bicycles and Wheelsmith stores. Now that I'm older I don't buy as many bikes or put as many miles on them as I once did, but I know a great bike store when I see one, and UC Cyclery is a great bike store.
