I have been stalking this place for months. I drove past during construction. I pulled into the parking lot "just to see." I peeped through the windows. I studied the online menu like it was a final exam. So when Tous Les Jours finally opened, I was READY. I let the grand-opening chaos calm down a bit before making my move. Late February Friday Night Date Night felt right. They're open until 7pm -- plenty of time to peruse, select, and enjoy dessert inside for the full experience. I pulled in and miraculously scored a great parking spot near the door. Visitor beware though -- for a strip mall, parking is tighter than you'd expect. I walked in and immediately noticed two things: 1. It was really busy. 2. There were trays and tongs involved. After a brief internal "what is happening?" moment, I realized it's largely self-serve from bakery cases, with cakes in display cases near the register. Got it. Now... based on my extensive pre-visit research (yes, I prepared), I came in with a mission: Fruit Pastry. Strawberry Croissant. Apple Jam Mont Blanc. I had saved strategic belly space for these exact items. All three? Gone. Not "one left." Not "almost out." Gone gone. In fact, quite a few sweet items were sold out well before closing on a prime Friday night dessert hour. That was disappointing, especially since I specifically waited for dinner time to make this a proper dessert stop. Determined to salvage the experience, I pivoted to cake -- which was essentially the only sweet option left. I chose a slice of Strawberry Cloud Cake ($7.16) and stepped up to the register. The place was buzzing with people chatting over trays stacked high with baked goods and custom drinks. It had that trendy café energy -- clearly it's a popular hangout spot. They boxed my cake in a very cute to-go container. I hadn't even thought to clarify I was eating in -- and they didn't ask. Minor detail, but worth noting. I found a table and then went hunting for utensils. Forks? Apparently not a thing. Spoon it is. First bite. Second bite (because maybe my tastebuds were confused). I looked around at everyone else's overloaded trays and then back at my cake and felt... perplexed. The cake was fine. It was lightly sweet. Very light. If it hadn't been pink, topped with a strawberry, and labeled "Strawberry," I'm honestly not sure I would've identified the flavor. It reminded me of that vague, airy "dessert cake" you find at a buffet -- technically sweet, technically cake, but lacking the richness or substance that makes you close your eyes and say, "Oh my god." Here's the thing: when I invest $7+ and the calories into a slice of cake, I want to feel like I ate cake. I want density. I want sweetness. I want satisfaction. This felt... polite. Delicate. Almost shy. If you're looking for a very light dessert that won't leave you feeling full, this could absolutely be your spot. For me? It didn't deliver the payoff I was hoping for -- especially after missing out on the items I originally came for. It's possible French-Asian inspired bakery style just isn't my thing. Your mileage may vary. But as someone whose favorite food in the world is cake icing? This didn't hit. Prices skew high. Quality felt average. The vibe leans heavily into café hangout and aesthetic experience -- which many people clearly enjoy. First impressions matter, and this one didn't win me over. But if you go, go early and stay flexible -- especially if you have specific items in mind.

    Many items had run out

This high-end bakery that I see in every Asian community in NJ/NYC finally made its way to Central PA! That's a loud statement for Cumberland Valley, which in a way, deserves the attention -- as it has been the second fastest-growing county in PA for the past 5 years. The bakery held its grand opening yesterday, Feb 6, 2026. I'm disappointed they didn't have any grand opening specials. We arrived today around 2:45 pm. It was a struggle to find a spot in the parking lot, especially with the big snow storm from last week. Inside it was a madhouse. We had to wait 50 minutes but I heard from a friend who was there that she had an even longer line and had to wait over an hour! I had high expectations based on other locations in the past so today was a bit of a let down. Given the overwhelming crowd, many items had already run out. It basically boiled down to having to wait in line without knowing what's available. This is definitely a great addition to Carlisle Pike. I trust that future visits can only get better after the initial hype dies down.

The croissants are to die for! The spinach and feta one was my absolute favorite. So savory and light and yummy. The iced tiramisu lattes - mix before drinking! Makes a huge difference, trust me. We got there one evening after closing time (unknowingly) and they still let us buy their delicious pastries. Such great customer service. The seating area is so cute and it's very clean and welcoming.

Just opened a new location in Mechanicsburg. If you don't like crowds/confined spaces, you may have to wait a week or 2 before stopping in. Better selection of pastries then too. We decided to brave the soft opening. Arrived at 12:40pm and finally left with our delicious treats at 1:55pm. Come in, grab a tray and tongs and get in line. The line takes you along display cases filled with both sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches, breads and coffee/teas. Pricing is on the high end, but as long as you don't let your eyes do the talking, you'll be fine. I still spent $80, but walked out with about 14 pastries and 2 coffees. Overall, I will definitely come back, but when less busy. They will have much more on display too. They also have an app and if you download, you get a free gift with purchase. Staff are super helpful and friendly, but still learning, so be patient.

Okay Tous Les Jours, YESSS!! They have a wide variety of delectable options -- everything from specialty drinks to an incredible selection of fresh bakery items. It honestly took me a minute to decide because everything looked so good. The staff was young and busy, but still available. The atmosphere is beautiful with soft-toned colors that make it feel calm and inviting. The chair- SUPER comfy, which made it easy to relax and enjoy my visit. And the croissant? Perfectly flaky, buttery, and absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be back to try more!

Absolutely delicious and beautiful pastries. Nothing is too sweet. When you first walk in you'll want to grab a paper, tray and tongs then peruse what they have to offer in the self serve cases. Wide variety of cloud breads, muffins, croissants, tarts, both savory and sweet. Nice selection of drinks and sandwiches. Then you'll move on to the cake, slices and macarons case before heading to the register. Looks like they have a wide variety of handmade drinks, coffees, teas, matcha, lemonades and a red velvet hot cocoa, though I didn't order any drinks this visit. If you're taking your order to go, they'll box and bag up your treats. Otherwise you can grab a table in their well lit, clean dining area. Prices are fair for handmade pastries. You'll want to get there earlier in the day to have the best selection from which to choose. I chose a matcha strawberry cake slice. So light and fluffy, and just sweet enough to be satisfying. Parking can be a little tricky because the lot is so small, best to try during an off hour time

We stopped in after dinner to check it out since we had seen pictures online and we were in the area. The layout and way you select what cafeteria style is very cool. Everything we got was delicious. I also got an americano and my wife got a tea. Both were great. The staff were all friendly as well.

Nearly…read more6pm on a Friday, walking in alone, knowing I could choose anything I wanted and then sit at a cozy little table to destroy every last crumb in absolute peace? That's my love language. When I arrived, I was person three of three in the small bakery. Quiet and calm, except for a man around my age and a younger boy chatting at a table about basically every topic under the sun. The vibe was gentle, warm, and perfectly unhurried. I took my time browsing their pastry cases--very full pastry cases--and genuinely could have eaten one of everything. But tonight was a dessert-only mission, so I narrowed it down to two knockout items. First up: the easiest decision I've made in months. A HUGE chocolate-dipped cannoli roll filled with hazelnut crème. This masterpiece was absolutely heavenly. The chocolate coating was thick and rich (the kind that snaps when you bite it). The cannoli shell stayed crunchy, which is rare and beautiful. And the hazelnut crème? Smooth, whipped, sweet in that refined way where you feel delighted, not diabetic. Perfection. My second pick was smaller but impossible to leave behind: a Pistachio roll with glossy sweet frosting on the outside, perched on a crunchy cannoli puff, absolutely stuffed with pistachio filling. And let me tell you--this filling was to die for. Sweet, silky, pistachio-forward without veering into "pure nut paste" territory. Pistachio in baked goods can be hit-or-miss for me, but Massimo's nailed the balance. Honestly, they've nailed everything I've ever had from here. My total came to $10.20 including tip, and the value felt spot-on for the size, flavor, and quality of the pastries. Plenty of free parking right out front since it's in a small strip mall. And can we talk about their hours? They're open 7am-7pm, Tuesday through Sunday (closed on Mondays), which is practically unheard of for local bakeries. Those long hours make Massimo's an unbeatable post-dinner dessert stop or a sweet late-afternoon pick-me-up. Friendly staff, gorgeous pastries, shelves of grab-and-go treats, and the peaceful ambiance of a bakery that doesn't rush you. My first solo trip definitely won't be my last. Highly recommend treating yourself. You deserve it.

A Friday Night Date Night dessert stop during my birthmonth felt like the perfect excuse. We headed there after dinner specifically to experience the bakery side of Bella Sicilia. The deli portion will have to wait for another visit. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday evening and found plenty of parking out front since the bakery is located in a strip mall. When we walked inside there was only one other person there, but the display cases were absolutely packed with pastries, cakes, cookies, and other treats. My heart nearly skipped a beat. Bella Sicilia describes itself as a destination for authentic Italian pastries, gelato, and deli favorites in Camp Hill, featuring classic treats made with ingredients from Italy and crafted with care. Their menu includes everything from lobster tails and cannolis to signature cakes and fresh gelato, along with deli sandwiches and savory options. With so many incredible-looking options in the case, my adventure buddy and I decided to strategize. We agreed to pick three items to split so we could try more things during our visit. We also sampled one of their almond cookies from the counter and counted that as a bonus fourth item. That almond cookie was divine. It's honestly more like a tiny cake than a traditional cookie -- incredibly moist, soft, and full of almond flavor in every bite. I'm actually glad we tried it after placing our order because I could have easily walked out with a dozen of those and called it a night. For our three official selections, we chose the Red Velvet Mousse Cake ($7.54), a Large Classic Cannoli ($6.76), and an Arch of Happiness pastry ($7.23), bringing our total to $24.97 including tip. When the woman behind the counter told us it was the last Arch of Happiness for the day, I nearly squealed with excitement. We got the final one! All three desserts were absolutely fantastic. The red velvet mousse cake leaned heavily toward the icing side -- rich, sweet, and decadent -- which is exactly how I like my desserts. The cannoli was filled with the most heavenly chocolate-chip-speckled ricotta filling I've ever had. And the Arch of Happiness was pure strawberry-shortcake-style bliss: light, airy pastry with whipped filling and generous chunks of fresh strawberries. We demolished all three desserts and very nearly licked the plates. Before leaving, we grabbed a few additional treats to take home and share with family. I also picked up one of those almond cookies for the ride home because resisting it simply wasn't an option. I'll absolutely be back to Bella Sicilia. With that many beautiful pastries in the case, one visit barely scratches the surface!

We might push some money around, I thought. On the way out we bought a dozen to go... with tax it was $11.92 or so. Lightbulb. So I ordered 125 of the most blissful cupcakes, for pickup on a Sunday. My sister had bought her cake from them, had it delivered to the venue I was using the evening of, on a Sunday. The day before my wedding we got a message on our phone. "We're closed tomorrow- actually, we're closed today. You need to pick up the cupcakes tonight." Weeks of an agreed pickup day, I was furious... but every day something else goes wrong for a wedding, and this was no exception. Still, we had to find storage space for 125 cupcakes and transport them the day of on a hot, hot summer day. I loved the cupcakes, they were all beautiful and delicious, and a cool $140 total. This was my second visit to Dalicia -- my first was for dessert (which unfortunately didn't win me…read moreover), and this time my adventure buddy was set on giving their dinner menu a try. Menu unseen, expectations unclear...so off we went! Knowing from past experience that the restaurant can feel drafty, I arrived layered up and ready for a cozy-but-practical evening on a cold February night. We walked in around 6pm without a reservation and were seated without issue as we were the only two people inside other than folks working. We started with the flatbread appetizer (feta, spinach, artichoke, mozzarella, mushrooms, peppers, scallions, turkey pepperoni on flaky pastry - $8), and honestly -- this was the highlight of the night. The pastry was thin and crisp, piled generously with toppings, and finished with what tasted like a garlicky sauce that brought everything together beautifully. Light, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. In hindsight, I should have just ordered a second one and called it dinner while things were still making me do the happy food dance. For my entrée, I ordered the Turkey Pesto Crepe ($12.25), described as sliced turkey, mushrooms, tomatoes, provolone mozzarella cheese, and sun-dried tomato pesto. On paper, this sounded fantastic -- a combination that should have delivered distinct flavors and textures. Unfortunately, everything blended together into one uniform consistency, and the individual ingredients didn't stand out the way I had hoped. It wasn't inedible -- I just lost interest after a few bites because nothing felt memorable. My adventure buddy ordered the Sarma (Stuffed Cabbage) ($18.95), described as cabbage stuffed with beef, onions, and rice, served with potatoes (his choice instead of rice). Again, the ingredients sounded promising, but the overall experience landed in the "fine" category -- nothing wrong, but nothing particularly exciting either. The potatoes fell into the same space: acceptable, but lacking seasoning or personality that might elevate the dish. We paired dinner with Pepsi Zero ($2.25 each -- note for fellow Diet Pepsi fans, they don't carry it here). Total for the evening came to about $55 including tip. It may simply not be my flavor style, but I'm always glad to support local and try something new.

Make them feel welcome, like they are a special customer, part of your business, etc. It really works to pull in people and make them come back! A great great great marketing tool! Even if you're not a people person, say hello or welcome at the very least, and good bye/thank you for coming! Your food/product can be quite average and the interior not perfect, but making a customer feel really welcome is often the top key trick to their return again and again. In addition they be more likely to spread the word how much they like your business. It's the easiest, cheapest form of market too!)

When I saw PA Bakery advertising mini King Cakes for Mardi Gras, I was genuinely thrilled. A…read morereasonably sized King Cake felt like a dream come true -- all the fun of the tradition without committing to feeding an entire village. I immediately pre-ordered two mini King Cakes at $5.50 each (total $11), already imagining the moment I'd get to gloat when I found the hidden baby! The mini King Cakes were actually quite generous in size. Easily enough for 3-4 people...although I personally demolished mine in one sitting and have zero regrets. Now for the part that caught me off guard. The plastic baby -- arguably the entire point of a traditional King Cake -- was perched on top instead of hidden inside. I was fully anticipating that moment of excitement that comes from discovering the baby mid-bite, because that's kind of the magic of a King Cake tradition. Without that element, what I ended up with felt more like a very festive brioche-style cinnamon roll wearing Mardi Gras colors than a King Cake. To be clear, it tasted good. The cake itself was soft without being dry, had plenty of cinnamon-esque filling without tipping into overly gooey territory, and was generously finished with frosting and sugary crystals. Flavor-wise, no complaints. But if you're marketing something specifically as a King Cake, the expectation is that the baby is hidden within. Otherwise, it changes the experience entirely. For food safety purposes, there are plenty of creative alternatives -- an edible marzipan baby, a clearly oversized non-choking-hazard version, sticker on the box, etc. -- but the surprise element is part of what makes a King Cake a King Cake. Overall, not a bad experience -- just not quite the Mardi Gras moment I was hoping for. Next year, I'll probably seek out a bakery that leans into the full King Cake tradition...because if I'm chasing the thrill of finding a tiny plastic baby in my dessert, I want to earn that victory properly. If the baby isn't going in the cake, just let me know up front so I can manage my expectations (and my Mardi Gras excitement) accordingly.
