My boyfriend, Bill, surprised me with a personal ride on the morning of my birthday and when we arrived Tammy and Rachel met us at the beach entrance. They were so welcoming and took time to figure out the perfect horses for us. I asked a bunch of questions because I was so excited and they were so fun to talk to. I ended up riding Gypsy, a gorgeous and sweet palomino, and Bill rode R.D. who was a gentle, handsome guy. Rachel was our FANTASTIC guide and rode Tammy's gorgeous paint, Tuck. Rachel and Tammy took the time to pair us with horses that would be good together, as well as good for us as riders--I have ridden my whole life, but Bill hadn't in many years, so it was reassuring to know that we would be put with horses that would be great for beginners. As we talked I learned that they rescue horses and knowing that filled my heart with happiness! So, we set off on our private ride, Rachel, Bill, me, our horses and the gorgeous beach. Rachel took my phone and took pictures of us riding the whole time, which I didn't expect and was great! We got to the halfway point and Bill got off to stretch his legs. They told me to get off to take more pictures, but I didn't want to because I was having SO MUCH FUN. But I got off and Bill wanted to go take a picture up the beach a little bit more. Turns out...He had set up the most magical, thoughtful, AMAZING proposal and he asked me to marry him! (I said YES!) He had been working with Rachel and Tammy, planning this for weeks and they were so GREAT! I had NO idea and was totally overwhelmed and so happy. (I still am!) Rachel and Tammy totally kept the secret--I even asked him if Rachel knew this was going to happen because she didn't give any hints or anything! We rode back down the beach after all the excitement and I don't think I've ever been happier! I LOVE these girls and their horses and I TOTALLY recommend them to ANYONE--experienced rider or first time, they make the experience perfect. (Even if you're not getting engaged!) I can't wait to go back for another ride--and to say thank you in person!

The farm is well maintained with two great arenas, one indoor, one outdoor that have great footing and jumps. They have some open space around the farm that you can go on trail rides on if you'd like, which seems a bit harder to find in some parts of Florida. Debbie and Michael are no nonsense, no drama, knowledgeable owners which is refreshing as it makes for a pleasant experience at the barn. They and the staff take excellent care of the horses, and notice the smallest things which coming from our background is very much appreciated. Tu-Bahd has a great lesson program for kids of all ages. Kathy does a great job introducing kids to horses and it seems they really respond positively. Having grown up riding, and through USPC (graduate H-A) I appreciate her knowledge. We are grateful to have found Tu-Bahd Farms when we did, and have been very happy with our horses care.

Riding in a Thunderstorm!? After riding with Stacey weekly for over two months, we confirmed a…read moreride at 8am. By 1pm, the rains came and we received County texts that Lightning was nearby and we should take cover. We still met at Paleo Hammock to see our favorite horses and reschedule. Stacey's husband was optimistic because we were in a lull between downpours. The Accu-Weather Radar showed LOTS of storm to come. But, even with a Thunder Clap, Stacey demanded we pay and declared the ride was on. We are not stupid, nor faint of heart, but if there is LIGHTNING in Florida, the LAST place you should be is in some open field, ten feet up on a horse. So, we are looking for another stable to ride, and we will tell them upfront, if there is LIGHTNING in the area, we don't ride, and don't pay. He said he text me at 3:30pm On Thursday and asked to confirm by 5pm for a 6pm appointment. I was working and had my phone on silent (I work from home and have my laptop with me)... I got off at 5pm to leave for the appointment, saw the messages and called right away. He wouldn't budge and cancelled my appointment. He did not tell me on Wednesday, when I scheduled the appointment, that I would need to confirm the appointment the next day... I would have turned my phone off silent or called before 5pm. What a wonderful way to disappoint my 11 & 13 year old horse loving daughters... we are here from South Dakota visiting. His mom is an even bigger problem, she has an even worse attitude. STAY AWAY! On a positive note, Whispering Pines Equestrian LLC was really nice and offered to let my girls go to their day camp on Friday for half the cost of this place.

I have stage 4 Nueroendocrine cancer and my son has always wanted to ride a horse so we were crossing off a bucket list item. Joyce' horses were well cared for, healthy animals with personalities that were great. After a couple of carrots Joyce allowed us to give them, and a little rubbing, they warmed up to us nicely. Joyce patiently explained to my 12 yr old how to sit the horse, hold the reins and feel comfortable astride. In fact by the end of our ride he was cantering with with some ease. I cannot express how impressed and happy we both were with our outing. If the chance comes again for the two of us to ride we will definitely choose Choyce Ponies again. After all quality is something we should look for.
