If you plan to buy clothes here they are a little expensive but the board and ski rental prices are very competitive. They also have a convenient drop box outside so we were able to enjoy the full 3 days we rented and deposited the boards in the drop box after they were closed. Which is nice because you don't have to rush a boarding session to return the boards on time. Over all great place, made our vacation easy and simple and I would definitely recommend. Although we have not been to the other shops near by so take it with a grain of salt but "First track" is a great option in my opinion.

We put in requests at the ski resort and a few shops by the slopes to keep an eye out. As expected, we had to pay the fee for the "lost skis" but we're assured if they were turned in we would get a refund. My husband followed up after a week and the skis were not turned in. Several weeks later he got a call that they were located and a refund would be issued within the next 3-4 hours. And it was!! We learned to use Lockard after this experience. But we are so thankful the staff were honest and followed up with us as promised. Highly recommend this company for rental needs.

As beginners, we felt lost and unsupported, and by the end of that day we were convinced skiing simply wasn't for us. Then we tried Appalachian Ski Mountain -- and everything changed. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place understands beginners. The booking process was smooth and available online. The staff were organized and welcoming. Although we had only booked one instructor online, they arranged two more so each of us could have a proper private lesson. Scott, Amelia, and Dean were phenomenal. They were calm, encouraging, and methodical. They explained the true basics - balance, stance, safe falling, snowplough (pizza) stopping, and controlled turns - step by step. They made sure we understood before moving on. In just one hour, we were skiing green runs with control and confidence. More importantly, we were smiling. Appalachian Ski Mountain didn't just teach us technique - they changed our entire perception of skiing. If you're a beginner, save yourself frustration and start here. It can make all the difference between giving up and falling in love with the sport.

First on the last day I decided I want to go snowboarding. I stopped in at 5:30pm to pick up a board, boots, and pants. I was told I would have to wait till after 7:30pm to pick up my rentals or pay a little extra for a twilight rental. I second small issue I had was with the rentals themselves. Most of the edges on the boards and ski's were pretty beat. All in great need of edging. That said they are rentals and I have seen this as a pretty common problem. Also with the rentals they didn't have any pants in my size and I managed to get the last set of boots in my size. Could be perfect with a few small adjustments.

We rolled in first thing in the morning and they had our entire crew of kids (8 youth), equipped and out the door in less then 30 minutes! Staff was knowledgable and the rental equipment is top quality for rental gear. The only real negative I could say is that you can not get step in bindings with snowboard rentals but this is fairly common when it comes to renting snowboard gear. Would also be nice if they rented helmets.
