We split the 10 oz smoked meat sandwich platter ($15) which came with fries, cole slaw in a vinaigrette and dill pickle. The meat was hand cut and delicious! Nicely flavoured and pretty lean. Rye bread was fresh. They added yellow mustard instead of letting us do it ourselves. (My partner is not a fan.) We also split an entré sized Caesar salad. ($7) Romain could have been a little smaller. Croutons were fresh. Cheese was lovely. Real bacon bits. Presentation was very nice. Friendly atmosphere. Obviously full of locals. Very clean and bright. Recently renovated. Kitschy tavern style chairs and tables. Menu is limited. Smoked meat, spaghetti, nachos, poutine, pizza (all come with smoked meat on top) and wings. For this type of restaurant it was ideal. Another note about the service, I mentioned above that we split the smoked meat platter; it was served split into two baskets without being asked. The calamari by itself was good but the sauce was disgusting. Think tomato sauce with Tabasco. It was not good. The pasta a la vongole was not good either. The sauce (which was a roses sauce). Did not taste good. My pasta was good but it was soon hard to digest I regretted taking it. In addition to the food being not good the service was really bad. It was slow and bad. To get our entree, it took over 30 minutes. Then add that we were not even asked if we wanted coffee or desert. They brought us the bill after picking up the plates of our maindish. And let's not forget one of the waitress that kept kicking my girlfriends chair all night long when there was a lot of place to pass next to it. All in all a pretty bad experience.
