I work at Apple myself, and the highest paid person in the store doesn't make the $180/hour these people wanted to do a move out cleaning. Keep in mind, this was for 1, or 2 people max. We were originally going to go with this company to do our move out cleaning until we realized the amount we are paying was for only 2 hours of work. All of the other places we hit up were telling us our house needed 4-6 hours of work - for this price ($360). Many of those companies also were sending out more than just 2 people to do the cleaning. I'm not quite sure why it is that other companies need more than 2 people to do the work for 4+ hours, when this individual company thinks they are able to do it in 2 hours with 1-2 people. I hold my thoughts and suspicions on quality based on this point. What was really annoying was how they wanted to throw the credit card transaction processing fee onto us because THEY only took credit/debit card. No cash, no check, no money order, no arm, no leg, nothing. Just. Card. So then the question becomes... if you set a policy like that, why do you think it's alright to have your customer pay that fee? She even had the bravery and courage to sucker enough confidence to try and tell us that convenience fee can be charged twice if we don't pay the full amount in one shot. What a joke this company is. Don't recommend, and seriously, why are they on the front cover of Yelp? Listen to other people who have had a bad experiences with them... you won't regret it if you ask me. read more

My roommates and I had an absolutely terrible experience with these cleaners. They cleaned our apartment for our move-out and the next morning we contacted them because it was not thorough. Floors were nearly unvaccuumed, kitchen sink was spotty, windowsills were dusty. They responded essentially saying that the job they did was good enough because they were there for the allotted time. Two weeks later our landlord says he must take money from our security deposit because the cleaning was not up to par. We contacted TEC once again and they told us that the 24 hour re clean policy had passed (even though we told them they didn't do a good enough job within 24 hours) and we would have to pay in full to have them come back and clean. Our landlord informed us that when this happens, most other cleaning companies will stand by their work and come back for touch ups. Not TEC. Not only was the cleaning very mediocre, but they were difficult to deal with and are not friendly. Will never use them again and don't recommend any of you do either. read more

As others have said we were treated extremely unprofessionally from the start with the worker being hours late. That's just the start of it, besides the job being subpar we were also treated extremely poorly. The person on the phone when contacted about the subpar job was quick to start yelling and ended up hanging up on us. They still want to charge us for a job that was almost unnoticeable to how it was before. This place is down the drain horrible in my opinion, and I'm shocked they have 4-stars on Yelp. Little did we know, when we asked how long they would do work for, we were told 2 hours, and only be sent a maximum of 2 people. Wow, I might just quit college myself and get in this industry with profit levels this high! Unbelievable! The best part, apparently everywhere we shop charges us a credit card transaction fee. Big LOL. When's the last time you saw 'credit card transaction fee' on your receipt for a $360 purchase? On my gosh this place is just 1-star all the way. I can definitely see where the 1-stars came from. You are definitely better off trying to find another place if you ask me. I have never given a company a bad review before, but I requested a quote for a housecleaning two different times, and on both occasions no one from Tough Enough Cleaners met me for the appointment. To be forgotten not only once, but twice was extremely unprofessional. I understand that challenges arise when managing a business, but if its workers are too busy to make an appointment, I should have been given a call with an explanation or reschedule - I was given neither. As promised, Kat came to my home and gave me a quote for a deep cleaning, which I agreed to. A date was set and her helper came by herself and cleaned for 6 hours. Kat called me about an hour (or less) and wanted to know how everything went. I hadn't had much time to look around, so I said it was okay, but a few things missed. She offered to have Amanda come back, but I said no. After having more time to check out the cleaning, I discovered many things not done as Kat had quoted when she first came over. So, a few days later I wrote a list of items not taken care of and sent her an e-mail. Her response-I previously asked you if you wanted her to come back, you didn't. (I had not had time to inspect my house yet). I am unable to rectify that matter. What?? How unprofessional and not at all concerned for the customer. Yo! In my opinion... DO NOT PICK THESE PEOPLE FOR ANY SERVICE. They overcharge, and they really lack a lot of experience in the industry if you ask me. They wanted to pass the credit card transaction fee onto us despite our total coming up to $360. Did I mention that this amount was the result of having a move-out cleaning at a fairly clean hour for about 2 hours with one or two people? I understand it's hard work you guys do, but to charge $180/hour for this type of labor is seriously overcharged. So unprofessional. How can you tell someone at the "end" of a job that you be charging them 60% more than you quoted? The kitchen counters were not even wiped down completely. The bathrooms seem like they were quickly wiped with a paper town and that was it. The showers were not completely wiped down and none of the floors were even done. I almost forgot to mention she pulled down on the light fixture (which was left tilted) and chipped the paint underneath. My 14 year old daughter asked if they cleaned anything besides the toilet in her bathroom. Apparently they did clean that well. The bathroom mats were left laying in the bedroom. I can not believe what a poor job was done. We have been living in this house for 3 months. All they were asked to clean was the kitchen and 2 1/2 baths. It took 6 hours for them to finish and nothing was done properly. They couldn't even put things back where they were before. We now have to clean it again and rearrange everything back to normal. Wow, just got off the phone with the 'owner'. Usually don't like to be 'Karen', but man, in my opinion, this company sucks! Both times I called them, her kid was screaming their lungs off in the background. Fine, whatever, everyone is working at home - no problem. Understandable. She quoted me $360, for a house that is a little less than 1,000 sq ft. Expensive? Sure as heck! I asked how long, and how many people would be there to do the cleaning. (I was curious how long the person would be there to make more money than an anesthesiologist does per hour.) She told me it depends on the number of "technicians" sent out - either 1 or 2 "technicians". In other words, these "technicians" are getting $180/hour. In addition, the work time was only estimated to be 2 hours. Fine, extremely overpriced - but whatever, this cleaning is probably going to be a once in a lifetime thing for me. (For the record, ALL of the other places I asked for a quote stated they would be there cleaning for a MINIMUM of 4-6 hours) Alright - whatever. I agree to the $360 anyways, and it's time to figure out a payment method. Apparently, they do not take ANYTHING EXCEPT for credit card/debit card. Fine, pretty standard for booking a service like this over the phone. Guess what? That $360 doesn't include the fee the credit card company charges THEM to make a credit card transaction. (Remember, the credit card transaction processing company didn't FORCE them to set the policy for credit/debit card only - they did that to themselves) Why the hell would I, the consumer, be okay to take that cost for you? She even went as far as to say EVERYWHERE we go and use a credit card, the consumer pays the CREDIT CARD TRANSACTION FEE. This, to be fair, is more or less true. (Many times, this fee is implemented into the cost of the product.) I don't recall the exact shopping destination she stated, but it was along the lines of the following: she told me that if I go to, say, Wal-Mart to shop, I get charged a credit card transaction fee. Lady, when you go to majority of places to shop, you get charged the price of the item - and sales tax. Nowhere on the receipt does it say 'credit card transaction fee.' Same goes to many mom and pop shops I have visited. The only time I can potentially think of when it is socially acceptable for this to be OK to apply is when I try to buy a pack of gum (low cost item - around $5-10) from a mom and pop shop using a credit card, then they usually charge a quarter or so. I tried to ask if it was okay to not incur this additional cost as I truly felt like this is a cost they need to incur, and not the consumer, and I get hit with the 'well, my business is REPUTABLY different and this is how I've been running my business for 8 years.' Yeah, I'm actually still shocked you're in business. I did tell you I would reach out if we needed you, but uhm... yeah nope. What a joke this place is, don't recommend. I spoke with Katherine, the owner, and she answered every question I asked and was very honest with her answers. I was sold. I made an appointment and waited for the results. Katherine called me when she arrived, right when she said she would, and let me know that she would call me when everything was completed. Not only did she respond very quickly and schedule an appointment efficiently, she was also VERY understanding towards our very "soiled" apartment. I thought my shower doors were frosted glass. Not after Katherene worked them. They're actually clear glass and she removed years of buildup. She cleaned with care and attention to detail. The inside of the oven is spotless. She was also available on short notice and called right away to go over the details of the cleaning. If I could give them no stars I would. Probably the most unprofessional experience I have had with a cleaning company or any company for that matter. Each appointment the owner showed up late to. Every time they came to clean it was not the time they said they would come or the day. When we came home after a "cleaning" we couldn't figure out what they had cleaned there was dust cobwebbed areas of the house that hadn't been cleaned toilets not cleaned showers not cleaned mirrors not cleaned. We paid extra to have our bedding made up but we came back to find beds not maid with pillows with no covers on them and sheets not tucked in bedding not maid up properly. When we called the owner she was out of state and said "if my employees won't come back there is nothing we can do". I would have almost given them a second chance if they would have tried to correct the mistakes made but stead when owner found out we weren't going to pay for the service her employees were suddenly unavailable to come and fix the mess that was made in our home. BEWARE OF THIS IS EXPERIENCE as me and my husband use this home as a vacation rental and I hate to see what shape it was in when we weren't home to check the cleaning ourselves. read more
