When I replied that the renter did not hire me and the renter cannot fore me but you the property management company did I received no response. It was just easier for her to allow the complaining renter to do whatever he wanted. Once we got the keys and unlocked the door, the house was still an absolute disaster. I spent a full week scrubbing the walls and shampooing the carpets, and the water was still jet black each time. Upon cleaning the home, we found so many issues and discovered that it was infested with cockroaches. We reached out to MVP to try to find a solution to the issues at hand, but were ignored and treated with absolute disrespect. We sought out legal advice from a tenant-landlord attorney who told us that the house failed to meet the standards of habitability per California law, so we contacted MVP again and they offered to release us from our lease. We agreed as they were unwilling to fix any issues, then they took over 5 weeks to mail us back our deposit and charged us a $250 re-rental fee which was not mentioned whatsoever in the lease we had signed, nor was it legal. I would never recommend this business to anyone.

Maintenance requests have always been handled quickly, and the staff has been very accommodating with walk-throughs, allowing us to choose dates that work best for our schedule. During the time we have lived in our home, the roof has been replaced and the exterior has been repainted, and everything was clearly communicated with us ahead of time. John even stopped by one day to check on the paint and let us know that the owner would also be coming by to see it. He was extremely friendly, and we had a great experience speaking with him. My husband later had the opportunity to meet the owner of our home and absolutely adored him as well. I truly feel that properties managed by Five Star are held to a high standard and are well maintained. Having landscaping included is also a huge plus and makes a noticeable difference in how the properties are cared for.
