This place is my absolute go to barber shop when I'm back in Queens. It's still really a hidden gem. They are so professional and meticulous and have the highest quality cutting equipment, hair products and TVs at each chair. I showed my highly skilled guy photos of the cut I got from them last time (since I loved it so much) and he did a great job in giving me a most wonderful fade and cut. I really wish I lived closer, as I'd go there every 3 weeks. It also helps that it's located in a great location, very close to many great food and snack places. I've been to several of those trendy and overpriced barber shops, but this one beats all of them, and they are very reasonably priced ($28.00 a cut vs. over $50 at other places). The best barbershop in Queens! This hidden gem is still relatively new and I am glad I took a chance to give them a try. Both barbers are very skilled, which helps me save time for having to not wait for only one barber. They are also very professional and family friendly. You do not hear any of that "barbershop talk." One of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. My hair was so lopsided after that I had to have my wife even it out. Maybe it's fine if all you want is a buzz cut or a fade. I asked for a simple trim (hadn't been cut in like 6 months), and the response was "what number?" Those were the only words said for the 9 minutes the guy spent aggressively buzzing my head. Never had my scalp actually scratched by a barber before this one. No scissors used at all. He was apparently in a rush, because by the time I got out to my car, I saw him leaving the shop. Thought would take my nephew here for a haircut and I really regret it. The barber didn't follow instructions on how the hair is supposed to be cut and my nephew ended up with a horribly uneven cut. I live in the area for over 10 years and tried almost all the barbershop around and I have to say I really like this one. Boris and Stan are amazing barbers. Boris usually cuts my hair and he is always on point. I've been coming to him for almost a year and I'm satisfied every time. He always takes his time, always listens to want you want and his lines are always even. The shop is clean and modern. You can tell that a lot of thoughts were put into the design. Dropped by Touchdown Barbershop earlier this week for a cut. This is my first time here because of the holidays and all. First, I'd like to mention I been to Hills Barbershop across the street just once. As I walked down on Austin St that day, Hills barbershop was jammed pack, expect a long day wait. Then I remembered there's a new shop that opened across the street, Touchdown! I saw people post their business on the Forest Hills community page on Facebook. I decided to give it a try. The inside looked pretty nice. Every barber station had it's own TV. Haircut was $17, same as Hills. The gentleman who cut my hair was friendly, pretty good with the clippers and shaving knife. He knew how to cut my hair as I showed him a photo of how I like my hair to be. My hair is very stiff, has the tendency to stick out from the back if the length is cut too short. So he understood and knew what to do unlike the barber from Hills. Over at Hills, the barber that cut my hair there, he was inexperienced especially with the scissor. He chopped everything took short. At touchdown, I didn't have that problem, the guy knew I wanted to keep the length up top so I can tie it back or slick it back. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at touchdown. I'm a bit surprised why they weren't busier during the holidays. Wait time was reasonable, the TV's are a plus, and the friendliness of the staff is good. I didn't feel like an outsider coming in. I just wished the price was perhaps a little cheaper than their competition across the street Hills. Other than that, touchdown is a good spot for a quick cut in the neighborhood. read more

I come here for my cuts and I take my toddler son here for his cuts too. The guys here are much better with adults than with kids, but not for lack of trying. My kid can be tough, and toddlers in general I imagine don't like having their hair cut. I think they offer the best overall experience because they have shorter wait times and don't blare dance music (I know, I'm old). In short, I'll keep coming back as long as they don't jack up the price. read more

I started going to this place just before the pandemic. This place is very clean. Honestly, I'm always apprehensive going to a different/new barber because of my hair type (mix of kink and wave). These guys saw me, were welcoming and took great care of me. I could tell immediately that they were experienced and they work well together. Additionally, there are TVs in front of each chair for patrons to watch during haircuts!!! Lastly, last barber was losing his touch. The best cut I've gotten in YEARS. I moved to Florida a few months ago and was back in queens for a weekend for a birthday party. I was staying in forest hills and I came to this barbershop and it was great. Boris did an awesome job. When I came back to Florida everyone was commenting on my haircut and they were telling me that I should take pics of it and bring it to my barber down here for reference. I have been here a few times but decided to write a review today. The guy who cut my sons hair was extremely patient with him and made me feel very comfortable coming in during covid. This is a new fresh spot right in the mix of Austin street. Boris, the owner, is a gracious and hospitable host who happens to also have skills with the clippers. You are also in good hands with his partner Stan, who is professional and nice with the scissors. The shop is very clean with flat screen TV's at each station. There is never really much of a wait and kid friendly. I have brought my son for about 5 haircuts and each time he has been very happy with the cut and wants to always come back.
