I had messed up the top of my Bob's Furniture dining table. About a square foot. It's a painted surface and I'd spilled drops of mineral spirits on it that took out the color. I called a furniture refinishing shop and they wanted $750 to $1,200 to refinish the whole table top. Bob's would sell me just the table for $600. I sent Randy at Touch Up Specialties photos of the damage and he said $200. He arrived on time and brought it his kit of tools, brushes, and paints. He worked for 3 hours non-stop. The result is fully touched up. He is a miracle worker with wood. Before you call anyone else get his quote and know that the rework will be great Images of damage, his tool kit, and the repair.

I have this beautiful solid oak table and it got water stained with wet tray overnight. I was very concerned since the color and finish of the wood is very natural with no coating. I definitely wanted to keep the same finish.. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work. I found this company through yelp and so glad I went with Mr Randy! The workmanship and responsibility of the project was 1000% + I'm so satisfied at the result now the table looks good as new! Thank you so much

My mother needed her front door refinished. Its been over 20yrs since last time. Randy was an awesome choice. Glad he was able to the job. Other companies wanted to paint it or replace it. One of the reasons for this review was for not only my mother being very satisfied. When I was putting back on the Baldwin Mortise lock I that took off to fix myself. I scratched up Randy's work and felt bad. I called Randy to see how much it would cost for him to come back and touch it up. After he came back and fixed my mess up in about 30-45mins, he said no charge. So I'm letting anyone who reads this review Randys the man, very fair and highly recommended Not to many companies are like this these days.

This review is long over due as Randy is a true artist and worked miracles at my home!! I had just purchased a new dining set that I had been waiting for for over four months. I was not at all happy with the stain on the sideboard and the manufacturer was not at all helpful in correcting the situation. Randy took one look and said he could absolutely make me happy...and he was so right. He also touched up my kitchen cabinets, stairs and bathrooms. He made my tired and chipped cabinets look like new. I honesty never could have imagined what he was capable of doing. Also a kind and caring human being! Thank you so much Randy!! Would hire him again in a second...oh and I forgot his pricing was extremely fair!

Randy did a great job on my Thomasville furniture that was a very difficult color to match. Blackish brown. Licorice finish. His price was fair, his work was detailed and he was friendly and knowledgeable!

It took a bit of research and effort to find Randy at Touchup Specialties but it was really worth it. The wood cabinetry around the house was looking worse for wear and needed to be refreshed. And I knew This was not a simple fix where I could go to home depot and buy a wood stain sharpie pen. A level of skill and craftsmanship was required to get these cabinets looking great again. I stumbled onto Randy via Yelp and then checked out his website. He only had a few reviews so it was hard to know how good he was at his craft. I emailed him for a quote and attached a lot of hd photos to show him what needed to be done. Randy emailed and called me back and said he needed to see it in person to give me an accurate quote. Randy came out to give me an estimate a week later. He was running behind 30 minutes but I wasnt in a rush. Before he came he gave me a price range. After he checked it out in person, his final quote was lower than his phone range estimate. The cost was not cheap but fair for the work Randy does. He also gave me generally good vibes that he could do the work. Randy ended up doing all the cabinetry throughout the home. He touched up and made things look almost like new. He started around 11:30am and finished around 6:30pm pacing himself but never really taking a break except to eat or drink some fluids. He isnt the fastest in his work speed but he does a great job finishing the repair and the end product is really great. Randy was soft on the property and he is professional. He has a workcart he brings with him where all his tools, stains, and tools of trade are kept as he works. He also did not make a mess. However the products he uses to repair do smell so keep your windows open and air out the home for several hours to let the fumes out asap. If your home or rental gets beat up, Randy can repair your cabinets or wood work and do it the right way. He also does commercial offices. And he was a friendly nice person to deal with.

Before

Randy did an AMAZING job on our kitchen cabinets! I recently moved into a new home and the kitchen cabinets weren't exactly the color we wanted. They were also very worn looking, especially around the handles. I wasn't sure who to call, what I needed done, and how much it would cost! I wasn't sure if everything needed to be resurfaced and sanded out or if there was an easier fix! Based on Randy's great reviews, I decided to give him a call! He said there was no need to completely replace or resurface the cabinets and he would be able to darken my cabinets just the way I want! He is very meticulous with his work and we ended up with what looked like a brand new kitchen! We LOVED the color and are so pleased with his work!

Thankfully they waived the fee. I trusted that they would do a good job based on their portfolio. They were accurate in their timeline for the completion of the project and the resulting hutch looks fantastic, I have no complaints there. The main reason I am giving this business two stars is because their communication leaves A LOT to be desired. I asked for progress photos as they were working on the piece in their shop. They never sent pictures until I had to follow up and ask for them. They knew ahead of time that they were going to need to deliver my piece urgently because they were going to need all the space in their shop for their next project. Yet, they did not communicate this with me until the very last minute, what were they going to do with my piece if I was unavailable for delivery when they needed it gone? That seemed like poor planning to me. Upon the initial quoting of the piece, I specifically asked them to not only have the main mirror replaced by their third party, but also have the antique locks repaired. I provided them with a key that fit the lock to aid in this process. They returned my piece to me with not only the lock issue not addressed, but also with one of the cabinet doors not fully functional (which is not how it was when they took the piece at the beginning). I had to report this issue after they had already left. It was only then that he recommended I contact his third party locksmith to resolve the issue. His recommended locksmith (Sav-Mor Lock & Key) has been completely unresponsive, and I can't find other locksmiths who specialize in antique locks. I then asked Haer where is the key that I gave them when they picked up the hutch, and it was only THEN that they told me they tried to test the key in one of the locks and a piece of the key broke off and is STILL currently stuck in one of the locks (they also didn't specify which lock they tested either). I am extremely disappointed and frustrated because I clearly specified all my needs before they accepted the project, and now I received an incomplete service. They have also stopped responding to my communications completely, which I find outrageous and irresponsible. I also got the impression that working on my project was a chore for them, as if I didn't pay top dollar for them to give me their best work. Again, in terms of their actual craftsmanship, Jose (who I believe did most of the work) did a great job. However, communication is a huge factor in determining who I award my business to, and based on my experience I wouldn't feel comfortable trusting them with another one of my projects.
