Once we entered, we saw the beautiful interior and were ushered into the cocktail room. Since it was a Muslim wedding, there was no alcohol which they accommodated very nicely. I helped myself to a lovely Shirley temple which was just as good as I remember from when I was a kid. During the cocktail hour, the staff walked around with little snacks and hors d'oeuvres. When we asked questions, they were very polite and even made some jokes with us when we initiated. When it was time for the main event, we were directed to our seats. The main room is beautiful with high ceilings, a nice dance floor in the middle, and some chandeliers. We were offered a few menu items which we Pre-selected before we arrived and then we confirmed again with our waiter. When it was time for the dinner, they somehow were 1 plate short which they said they'd fix by cooking another one for us. I volunteered to be the one to wait for the new meal. It wasn't a major problem, but it was a little strange to me there were no backup dishes ready to go in case of something like this. When the food finally came out it was pretty good, just a lot longer wait than I thought. The servers were very apologetic about it, but it really wasn't a major problem for me as I had eaten so many hors d'oeuvres. Overall, a beautiful place for a big event!

The venue itself sits on top a lake and we've camped in the woods both times and loved the shade coverage and just the entire property. The staff are friendly and helpful. I'm not doing backflips of joy over my experience, but it really was quite lovely. Here's the review I wrote for Trip Advisor: We stayed over a Saturday night, on March 31st. We had originally wanted to stay in the lodge building, but it wasn't open yet for the season. It's just as well, we had a delightful time in the main house. We were the only guests, since it was a misty, chilly weekend (we were up to visit friends). The owners are helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Cranberry Room ... I feel like the web site photos do not do the room justice. The furniture is very nice, without the lace and frills of too many B&Bs. The queen bed was comfortable enough ... we didn't sleep well, but I don't blame the bed, I think we just sleep best in our own bed! The house itself retains a lot of its original 19th century details, like original hardware, so if you like "old houses", you'll like this one. Breakfast in the morning was right on time, and delicious. Special mention goes to the views - this area is gorgeous, even on a rainy March/April weekend. I would definitely come back. The only negative I can think of is that the road leading to the house is not paved, which may present a problem, especially at the bottom of the hill. (It's also badly marked, but so are many roads in the region). The drive for the house is not paved, either, but I felt like that went with the country atmosphere, so I'm not sure it's a detriment. For the price, and the area, a great value, and a wonderful stay.

They also had a cheese display and I definitely got down on that, and I liked the horseradish dip they had too. For the main meal I had the chicken caprese. The chicken was cooked good, not overdone at all and plenty moist, but the breading on it was kinda soggy and got lost in the mix a bit. The salad they brought out was good too, I dunno if the itallian dressing was made in house or not but I liked it. I didn't eat the green beans but the twice baked potato wasn't anything too special, seemed like it needed something extra. Speaking of something extra, the tables didn't have any salt or pepper shakers, which definitely would have made things a little better.
