After an ER visit (thankfully nothing broken, just teeth misaligned), and a visit to a local dentist (who didn't have the materials to stabilize my teeth if he were to push them back into place), followed by a next-day referral to a local Orthodontist (who I was told would relocate my teeth, but upon examination said that it was too late to do so, they were not mobile enough and I would need a Ortho local to where i live for long-term Orthodontics) - I called my local dentist Dr Sigmon with Performance Dental Center. I will begin with this: Hannah, the front office staff, is absolutely the best! She immediately went to work looking for a local Orthodontist that could take me the following day. She called me back to let me know that she was struggling to find someone with an opening, but that she was waiting on a few others to get back to her. I meanwhile started to do some research myself, and found someone to take me the following Monday. I eventually called Hannah back to let her know I had secured an appt for Monday, and she immediately responded with the name of the Practice. She had reached out to them as well and heard that I scheduled an appointment. Hannah then went on to tell me that she looked into my insurance and that I had expanded coverage (that I wasn't aware of!) Hannah is not only empathetic and kind, she is also very clearly great at her job. Ok... moving onto the dentistry - since that's why most are looking at this review :). Dr Sigmon and his staff are SUPER. THey provide totally pain-free dentistry, a great chair-side manner, they are fast and do good work. (and they have a massage chair for patients to sit in while getting work done) TOP NOTCH PRACTICE with excellent staff. I can not say enough about this place! The crown didn't sit right and stuff got under it and everytime I flossed my floss got stuck and was pulling it off. There was so much rotten food stuck underneath it that it stank so bad when it did finally get ripped off by flossing. When I went to get my permanent crown on, I first went to another place to look at a root canal and multiple dentists there said there was no reason on the X-rays or not that I should have had to have a root canal nor have my tooth shaved off. Not to mention, the person working on the tooth the majority of the time was not the dentist. The majority of the time it was the assistants whom shaved my tooth way too much so much that it hurt to eat any food at all when beforehand it didn't hurt to eat anything at all. So I spent over $1700 out of pocket for a procedure that did not need to be completed. The dentists here will scam you and honestly the whole place is entirely sketchy. I would highly recommend anywhere else for reasonable prices and an accurate representation of what you actually need done on your teeth. I have never been so disappointed in a place ever in my entire life but this place is the epitome of why people hate the dentist. I will say that the people who work here are very nice. However, I'd rather have a rude dentist who doesn't scam me than a nice one that does.

The office is well-decorated and cozy with accent walls and aesthetically-pleasing black and white photos of people with ridiculously white teeth. They have complimentary fruit and drinks (orange juice, green tea, water, etc.), free yummy chapstick, and of course your obligatory floss and toothpaste. The exam/cleaning rooms all have nice, big windows, so you can look out the window or watch TV while you are having work done, your choice. Also, you have the option of dipping your hands in a paraffin wax bath for a nice hand treatment as you get your teeth done. Absolutely genius ... I mean, if you're sitting there for an extended period of time anyway, why not? Everyone I interacted with there was very pleasant, but, most importantly, honest. Dr. Alber has a very frank, here's-how-it-is personality, which I really appreciated. He told me I should consider having my wisdom teeth out in the near future, and when I admitted that I thought I would be doing that on my next visit to Peru, he encouraged me. "Heck, they can do it for a lot cheaper than I can -- and they have good dentists!" he said. I really appreciated that because he could have said something like "Well, the only way you can be SURE to have it done well is to go through me." I loved the no-upsale approach. My visit was very cheap; with insurance, it ended up being $22, but without it would have been $110 for cleaning, xrays, and checkup. I will definitely be going back.

And the bonus... he actually recommended I not get the expensive and invasive crown and offered me a more appropriate treatment that cost me nothing!
