If I could rate this place 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. NEVER go here. They shaved off half a tooth that they said needed to have a crown done and then charged me for a crown. The crown didn't sit right and stuff got under it and everytime I flossed my floss got stuck and was pulling it off. There was so much rotten food stuck underneath it that it stank so bad when it did finally get ripped off by flossing. When I went to get my permanent crown on, I first went to another place to look at a root canal and multiple dentists there said there was no reason on the X-rays or not that I should have had to have a root canal nor have my tooth shaved off. Not to mention, the person working on the tooth the majority of the time was not the dentist. The majority of the time it was the assistants whom shaved my tooth way too much so much that it hurt to eat any food at all when beforehand it didn't hurt to eat anything at all. So I spent over $1700 out of pocket for a procedure that did not need to be completed. The dentists here will scam you and honestly the whole place is entirely sketchy. I would highly recommend anywhere else for reasonable prices and an accurate representation of what you actually need done on your teeth. I have never been so disappointed in a place ever in my entire life but this place is the epitome of why people hate the dentist. I will say that the people who work here are very nice. However, I'd rather have a rude dentist who doesn't scam me than a nice one that does. read more

I think in terms of the team and the cleanings they are a wonderful group. In terms of dental work such as fillings and crowns I would recommend a second office. Most all of the work is done by a dental tech with higher qualifications which is fine, if it's done correctly. I was out of town and had another dentist check my work, and the fillings and crowns were called "mediocre at best". My fillings are rough, and the median (space between crown and gums) is much bigger than it should be. My crown and bite had felt wrong and I went back three different times to address it. Long and behold, they ground down my tooth that sits below the crown so much that the two had no contact at all, which caused my bite to be off and feel a odd pressure. Again, the people are so nice, and the cleanings are great, but I do this the practices need to be adjusted. I saw someone with a very similar review, and I feel it's important to share it's not just one person's experience. Teeth are a one time thing so choose carefully if you tend to have cavities or need work. read more

Support this amazing business staffed by even more amazing individuals. quick story: I am out of town, while riding a scooter - i did a face-plant and pushed my 4 front teeth back. After an ER visit (thankfully nothing broken, just teeth misaligned), and a visit to a local dentist (who didn't have the materials to stabilize my teeth if he were to push them back into place), followed by a next-day referral to a local Orthodontist (who I was told would relocate my teeth, but upon examination said that it was too late to do so, they were not mobile enough and I would need a Ortho local to where i live for long-term Orthodontics) - I called my local dentist Dr Sigmon with Performance Dental Center. I will begin with this: Hannah, the front office staff, is absolutely the best! She immediately went to work looking for a local Orthodontist that could take me the following day. She called me back to let me know that she was struggling to find someone with an opening, but that she was waiting on a few others to get back to her. I meanwhile started to do some research myself, and found someone to take me the following Monday. I eventually called Hannah back to let her know I had secured an appt for Monday, and she immediately responded with the name of the Practice. She had reached out to them as well and heard that I scheduled an appointment. Hannah then went on to tell me that she looked into my insurance and that I had expanded coverage (that I wasn't aware of!) Hannah is not only empathetic and kind, she is also very clearly great at her job. Ok... moving onto the dentistry - since that's why most are looking at this review :). Dr Sigmon and his staff are SUPER. THey provide totally pain-free dentistry, a great chair-side manner, they are fast and do good work. (and they have a massage chair for patients to sit in while getting work done) TOP NOTCH PRACTICE with excellent staff. I can not say enough about this place! I went to Performance Dental for cleanings for several years and they were good for that. Everyone is friendly and I was happy with the care. I had two older bondings that I wanted to get updated since I was worried about them breaking. Dr. Sigman did not perform the bonding and instead an assistant/hygienist (?) did the work. She asked me what color the bonding should be, this was the first red flag. Once completed, I could immediately tell the color of the new bonding was off. It was significantly worse than the old bonding even though those had a stain line. I was gaslighted into accepting that it was fine and that it was just the lighting. I contacted them several times after the appointment and finally came in for them to re-assess the work they did a year later. I was told by another dentist at Performance Dental that the work done was perfect. Since then, I've switched dentists and have also seen a prosthodontist. Both my new dentist and the prosthodontist disagreed with the assessment from Performance Dental and noted the color of the bonding was significantly off. In fact, the prosthodontist started laughing once he saw the bonding work. While Performance Dental was fine for dental cleanings and I enjoyed my earlier interactions with everyone there, I'd recommend against going here based on how they attempted to cover up and deny the poor quality work they did. Dental offices shouldn't offer services when they do not have the expertise to provide them. read more

Please be aware when considering the reviews that they send patients home with an offer to pay you $25 in the form of a visa gift card in exchange for a positive review. I had a pleasant visit for teeth cleaning and routine x-rays. The hygienist was efficient and very nice, and everything was covered except for a $30 elective fluoride treatment. I do recommend them, with the caveat that paying customers for positive reviews is obviously unethical and potential customers looking at reviews should be aware of this practice. read more

I got new dental/health insurance so I was in the market for a new dentist. I chose Performance Dental Center because it is super close to my house and I saw it had good reviews on Yelp. It definitely did not disappoint! I was able to fill out all the pre-paperwork online before my appointment which was nice because I didn't have to worry about it the day of my appt. I was actually running a few minutes late to the appt (so it was a good thing I was able to do all my paperwork online), which they were super accommodating about. As soon as I arrived, they took me back into the dental office and got me going. I was shocked - I've never been seen right away for any kind of medical appt before (it's usually at least a 15 min wait in the waiting room...). Dr. Sigman did most of my teeth cleaning which was also surprising because usually it's the dental hygienist (which I don't mind, but getting the Dr. was an added bonus). He was polite, made conversation, and didn't do that awkward thing where he talks and I can't respond because my mouth is wide open as he's cleaning it. I usually dread going to the dentist because, admittedly, I don't floss, and they always make me feel like a horrible person for that, but Dr. Sigman was very positive and said my teeth looked great! He was personable (sharing personal anecdotes about himself), made me feel very comfortable, and not at all bad about my home dental care regimen. All in all, the entire appt took about 30 minutes. I didn't do any x-rays as I'm pregnant (but Dr. Sigman did give me some tips for pre-natal dental care, which I appreciated). He quickly told me that I didn't have any cavities, rather than making me wait until 20+ mins into the appt, which I also appreciated. Everyone was super friendly. The office was clean. And at the end they gave me a little goodie bag with a toothbrush and toothpaste, which I always like. I will definitely be returning and would recommend him to anyone who isn't 100% happy with their current dentist. read more

I'm new to the Boulder area and chose Performance Dental Center as they accept my insurance and are located close to my home in Gunbarrel. I booked a last minute appointment as my tooth broke around an old amalgam filling. Wah-wah. Denise got me in as soon as possible, for a 7:30 am appointment (I like going whilst still half asleep, before I know what's happening to me.) Disclaimer: I am a First Class Wuss when it comes to the dentist. I know that it's a common fear, but my fear causes pretty bad anxiety and usually results in tears in the dentist's chair. I gave Denise and Dr. Sigman fair warning of my fear handicap. Denise was awesome. She got me set up in a massaging chair (!!!) and even gave me a blanket before taking an X-ray of my tooth and an exam by Dr. Sigman revealed I'd need a crown. After this determination, Denise hooked me up on nitrous oxide. If you have a fear of the dentist, I recommend risking killing a few brain cells to get you through the procedures... so worth it. Dr. Sigman did his magic on my poor broken tooth. It was the first time I didn't sob while getting anesthetic shot into my gums. As soon as I felt anything, I was provided with more anesthetic. After the molding for the crown was completed, I was on my merry way, albeit really numb and a little hazy from the nitrous, with an appointment made for two weeks later to install the permanent crown. Unfortunately, the crown wasn't ready in time before my holiday travel plans, which worked out just fine. Denise called and apologized profusely. I did go in regardless, just to have her check the seal before my trip. She also adjusted the bite to alleviate some minor pain I was feeling with temporary crown, which was a godsend before traveling. After I returned from my holiday, I went back for the permanent crown. I had a minor meltdown when Denise tried to remove the temp without anesthetic (at my request, mind you), so they had to numb and nitrous me up again. After that, things went smoothly and they did a full round of x-rays and a cleaning, and now I have a beautiful new tooth! It's been such a good experience, that I'm heading back soon for additional work on some minor cavities. Huge thumbs up to Denise and Dr. Sigman for their kindness, professionalism, and quality work. Love this place! They are clean, professional, courteous, and it's the best experience you can have at a dentist's office. I saw one of the other reviews mentioning that they were offered a Visa Gift Card in exchange for a review, but that must be from a while ago as I was never given the offer. I genuinely really like this place, the staff is great, and they do wonderful work. I get all my dental work done there, including Invisalign, and they have made the whole process as painless as possible. You can watch Netflix while they clean your teeth. How cool is that? Highly recommend Dr Sigman. He has been my dentist since my move to Boulder 3 years ago, and now recently opened his own practice here in Gunbarrel. Dr Nick and staff are ethical, professional, friendly. Also explain processes in simple language, which is quite helpful. :) Besides a no-pain cleaning, had my implant crown and it turned out great! I have recently moved to Colorado and needed a new dentist. I was very impressed with Dr Sigman and his team. The facilities are 5-stars, with the latest greatest technology and comfort. The chair even gives you a nice soft massage! But what I liked the most is the work done, the care given and the painless procedure. First visit I had a cleaning and XRay where the doctor was able to show me what he found on these photos of my teeth on the screen. That was great to "see what we were talking about". The second visit was another cleaning 6 months later and we discussed doing some work that needed to be fixed. They were great at explaining the work and cost very well and they were able to get me in right away before my vacation. The work was done very gently and they were explaining step by step and they went through making sure i was ok and in no pain. I couldn't be happier! I still need to go in a month to get the final crown in but im happy because i can feel I am in good hands and found a new GREAT dentist in my new hometown. Thank you, Dr Sigman! read more

My experience here involved hundreds of dollars in unexplained fees, a crown that fell out after only days, a resistance to renegotiate fair treatment, and a refusal to correct and complete the work. I was offered a gift card for a positive review. I declined. Dr. Sigman was nice enough, as was his assistant. However, the cleaning was the least effective I have ever had. Dr. Sigman did some scraping on my teeth, then Denise did the polish. No flossing, no mouthwash. I do a better job with floss and my sonicare toothbrush. I had a cavity and scheduled an appointment, but decided to cancel because of my distaste for the review bribe and the worst cleaning ever. Dr. Nicholas Sigman is as good as it gets. He takes plenty of time to answer questions, review x-rays, talk about long-term plans. He's very knowledgeable, energetic and positive. He's gentle and patient with cleanings and other work. I will be going back no matter where I live in Colorado. The facilities are big, comfortable and beautiful. Really great dentist for all ages. As someone who spent six years having cleanings and exams completed by a military dental team, this office and staff was such a nice surprise! I am terrified of going to the dentist, so I haven't been in two years, since I got out of the military. I searched for a new dentist in Gunbarrel because I was having some tooth pain and was shocked to see that Performance Dental Center ONLY had 5 star reviews...that is unheard of! I had my first appointment today and I can absolutely see why. The staff was wonderful, informative, and sensitive to my fears and dental needs. I went here 2 months ago on the recommendation of one of my co-workers. It was ok - I've had worse but I've also had better. My thoughts, if you are in a pinch he is open and does decent work.
