Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Outermost Inn. The drive is about 30 minutes from Vineyard Haven and…read morereservations are a must. You need to call at least a week in advance. We snagged an 8p on Saturday night. The restaurant serves a tasting menu ~$140/pp before tips and drinks. They serve cocktails and wine/beer, but they don't have a full liquor license(no martinis here). I saw duck on a recent menu but it wasn't available when we went so double check if you have dietary preferences. We decide to share among 4 which worked well. I enjoyed the kimchi oysters, seared tuna, and matcha cake the most. The cheese plate looked nice. Great views if you make it before sunset. Service was slow, we had to flag down a different waiter to get our dessert. Overall nice experience but won't beat out other favorites.

So I made a reservation for dinner. The night I arrived the Inn was hosting a full on wedding. I was seated promptly. Living on a sailboat sine July Fourth I was ready to rumble! Starting with coffee, Saratoga and ceviche. This came in a bowl 7-10 ounces of fish. It had a perfect balance of lemon/lime juice, There was no distractions to compete with delicious fresh fish Next I choose from an amazing prix menu. Being TypeII, I had to choose carefully. My fish arrived cooked to perfection. The flavors in the yogurt sauce took my fish to another level. At this point I drank a glass of red Italian wine ,to honor my mother while eating a cheese plate dessert. Personally this was a very satisfying outing at Outermost. Tazbro47

Elise is just a wonderful person and made the trip special. She makes a breakfast out of this world and the inn has some great animal life. A few bobcats and she has nursed some wildlife back to health. Walk to the rural more private beach is less than ten minutes. We will most certainly be back!

Aquinnah is far from the other towns (30 min drive) so plan accordingly. The liquor stores do deliver with enough advance notice, and there are a few restaurants not so far away, but you are out in the country. Love sitting in the hot tub at night watching the stars. This is an old house so you might hear noise from other rooms or when breakfast gets going, but I travel with earplugs & a mask so not a thing for me. Elise is welcoming & has tips for everything you can think of. Free wifi, amazing water & sunset views (except from the downstairs stone-wall room) and blissful calm. There is no AC but mostly it's not needed, and mini fridges in many rooms, bring a small cooler for a day at the beach, a beach towel, good walking shoes, and de-com-press.

This time we spent a couple days on this quaint island and took our time exploring. At the intersection of the Corner Store, there was a sign saying breakfast was being served every weekend from 8-11 at the Cuttyhunk Fishing Club. We made our way to the beautiful inn and were delighted to find out they accept debit/credit cards as well as Apple Pay. If you have ever been to Cuttyhunk, you know most of the businesses on the island accept cash only, and there is no ATM on the island (as of the time of my review). For breakfast, I got three large chocolate chip pancakes with a fruit cup on the side. My husband got the Vineyard Sound Bowl. We both enjoyed our food. I couldn't finish my portion (should've opted for the smaller portion); I had no idea how large those pancakes were! Our sweet, mild mannered server Emily took great care of us. She was personable and made us feel welcome. The grounds of rolling greens with the breathtaking views of Vineyard Sound and the historical building make you feel like you've stepped back in time. We will definitely be back! Tip- if you are coming from the harbor, it is a long walk so plan accordingly. The road is paved so it makes for a great scooter ride.
