We purchased the "friend and family" package probably 4 hrs ago, so my husband and I could go tan together after work, before vacation. Last year when we went in to unfreeze our membership to tan before vacation, we were told that they now only have 1 bed for the "friend" to use, whereas in the past there were at least 2 beds! So, now you have probably 2-3 people ahead of you waiting to use the "friend" bed! Oh, but they told us he could use a regular bed if he paid $20....WTH! I had hoped that they would get enough complaints, that they would go back to the old way, but that didn't happen! Needless to say, I have cancelled my membership! My beautiful wife went in to get a membership while we were in town to just get a 1 month membership and they made her sign on a pad and without her knowing they got her locked into a confusing contract that charges you unexpectedly and when you ask about it they have no logical explanation and just refer you to india like come one wtf is this? please for the love of your mental health DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. read more

I have only been a member for a month, and I am very displeased with the service. Purchased a $140 bottle of lotion because I am getting married, and with the sign-up, you get a discount on product. Upon doing research, I find this exact bottle of lotion online for no more than $70 (on amazon), and as cheap as $60 through the tanning lotion depot. Customer service contacted me promptly, but informed me that the lotion is priced appropriately based on manufacturing, and that the other lotions on the market are probably not the same lotion. She kept repeating her "lines" to me regarding this being the manufacturing price, and that there was nothing that they could do. I guess I know now, never to buy from Totally Tan and Spa again. read more

I love this location (and all of the other locations!!!) the staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help you with whatever you need. They will go above and beyond to explain things to you if needed. Also, If there's a wait, then there's a wait, and unless you're willing to go into a different bed, you're going to wait. That's how all tanning salons work! I saw another review here talking about the tanning lotion they sell, and how you can get it "cheaper online" Let me start by saying I do not work for any tanning salon, I am not a lotion rep, I have no connection to tanning salons besides me being a customer. I've been with Totally Tan for almost 10 years. The lotion you would buy online through Amazon or other 3rd party stores (for cheaper) is in-fact off brand, expired, watered down or all of the above. It's not just "lines they repeat" to tell customers. You can not trust 3rd party sites for lotions, you have to get it directly through the manufacture or the designated stores they sell them at. But how would I know? I myself work and all of my colleagues work for online selling platforms. We know and can see what all goes on behind the scenes. This is also why you don't buy make up and other liquid beauty items from Amazon, Ross, Tj Maxx and Marshals. They're expired, and can be tampered with before being sold to these stores. Sorry for the rant-- it's pretty frustrating seeing people go off on businesses without any prior knowledge of what they're talking about. read more

I'm not the most melanin-gifted fellow by any means, which explains why I come here before I go anywhere tropical. The location is close to home and the price is right. I just buy the 30-day unlimited package for level 3 beds ($80 after tax; $30 more to upgrade to level 4) in order to get a good base color so I don't have to hide in the shade while on vacation. The staff here is always friendly and spare me the expensive lotions sales pitch after I decline the initial offer. That's wise to me and I appreciate not being hounded. They seem to be knowledgeable and help me devise a plan to avoid getting burnt, which is no small task. My only real complaint is that the rooms for the stand up beds are tiny and leave little room to maneuver while getting dressed/undressed. I'm a claustrophobic dude to begin with and the lack of space bugs me. At least it's clean, modern looking, and kept tidy. Overall, I recommend this place for your fake baking needs. read more

I paid for the "Celebrity Club" membership (full price for a full month) but wanted to downgrade my membership the following month. Instead, they immediately cut your membership and you lose out on services. Their Customer Service said there was nothing they could do "due to their system limitations". (Very unfriendly staff to boot.) They then proceeded to charge me the following month for the new membership and refused services for the remainder of my PAID month. Tried CS again and was (again) read the script of, "There's nothing we can do." Awful all around. read more

This place is OK, but they do not provide baby wipes and the tans do not last as long. I recently got into a car accident and I wasn't able to use my membership this month, and they refused to give me a refund even though they had just charged my card the day before. Also the price is pretty steep for the quality, I would recommend going to Palm Beach Tan in Maple Grove instead! read more

I called this location today to get quotes while comparing the local tanning options. To preface, I have previously tanned at both franchise and privately owned salons, I have also worked in sales. When I called I asked for pricing information (which is readily available on most other salon websites but proved to be elusive at Totally Tan). I was told it's easier to understand if I was at the salon (common sales technique - easier to sell people when they're already there). The employee also told me she couldn't really remember/explain how the pricing works because they just changed it. In the background I could overhear the other employees telling her not to tell me the prices. I continued to ask for rough estimates of the tiers so I could get an idea of their prices. She rattled off something about half-time, full-time, and celebrity ($29, $39, $69 - in case you don't want to go all the way to the salon to find this out) without further explanation while her coworkers continued to tell her not to give me prices. Again, I understand the sales tactic of getting people into the salon before talking about prices, but if a potential customer repeatedly asks for pricing on the phone, it's better to just give them something with which to work. In this case, it cost them the equivalent of TWO platinum memberships at Palm Beach Tan. I would suggest improved training in sales and professionalism for Totally Tan staff to prevent the further loss of potential customers. P.S. I travel all over the country for business and this tanning again has decent beds but the purpose of the review is to shed some light on the fact that the girls that work here are sub par when it comes to customer service. I asked how often they change their bulbs (their level 5 just hasn't given me any color the last several times I've tanned) and she started immediately into how my lotion must be old or I haven't came in enough times to see any color yet. Keep in mind I run sales teams so the fact that she had no desire to actually LISTEN to my concerns really didn't sit well. I absolutely did not appreciate her attitude or the girl I signed up with' s attitude. read more

In February 2019 unbeknownst to me my credit card on file expired. Flash forward to August 2019 when I get an email that my payment for August doesn't go through. I get an email stating that my card on file (currently) has an expiration of February 2019, but curiously payments were still allowed to be pushed through for the months ahead. I have sent multiple requests to the "owner" for receipts with details of these transactions to see exactly how this could even happen. Apparently even the "owner" with access to these documents will not respond to my request and has even told me that he cannot provide that information but threw some "spa services" at me to essentially make this matter disappear. This isn't the first time this has happened according their complaints on the BBB. He basically is trying to not take responsibility with this including the matter I've listed about one of his managers sending my account information to a wrong email. I had (3) left about 2mo.'s ago and now it's zero. Then, of course, they want you to waste money on a new package "deal". I'm done with this company. Great tanning establishment! Bought a groupon because I was feeling pale and this salon is very close to my house. I haven't tanned in a couple years but have very recreation-ally in the past. I felt like the staff was very friendly and fairly helpful, asked me what my goals were (big occasion, level of tan desired, skin type etc) and advised me on how to make the most of my groupon while not over-doing it. I do think that like most tan places they recommend more tanning than absolutely necessary (can't blame them, its their business) but after a mild sales pitch about their unlimited monthly tan program I told her I would rather just purchase points as needed and she informed me about a current ala-cart special and didn't make me feel pressured. Overall its a fair price, clean place with a friendly staff. They made good lotion recommendations (I'm always curious to see if they will up-sell or recommend a first timer "tingle" etc, they didn't) I think I will be very happy there w/ ala-cart tans starting on a level 3 beds for $10 and level 4 for $20.50, I plan on getting a glow for summer and am excited! read more
