This is "my tanning salon". My favorite of all places I've ever gone to. I've been to other salons…read morethat are newer and have the newest equipment but the price for that is double what I am charged for the same exact thing at Sun Shoppe. They have some top of the line beds as well as the medium pressure beds and they all work great. Ya can't judge a book by the cover because this small business has been open for so many years and might not look like much on the outside but the service you receive on the inside is top notch. I've been a client of Sun Shoppe since high school(almost 20 years of being a client)and nothing is going to change where I tan. I support small business every chance I get. This place is so much better than those other chain salons because the people who work here are simply real and down to earth. Nothing fake. No frills. You just want to tan? Sun Shoppe is where you need to go. They also offer other services like spay tans and red light services but I haven't used those services since I simply want to tan and that's it.

Unfortunately their "Bridal Concierge" team is not very good. They were the one stressful thing about my wedding. I had to constantly reach out to get a reply (if I got one). I was never responded to when I asked in January to schedule my hair trail. I reached out in March for a timeline to make sure we would be done on time and I did not get a reply until 3 weeks before my wedding and everything was incorrect. The times were well after I said we had to be done, they added makeup which was not marked on the form, and did not have the right styles with the right person. I tried to speak with a manager and she pushed me off saying I had to deal with the bridal team even after sharing my frustration about them. I would NOT recommend using them for a wedding. It's unfortunate since I use to like the salon but they have gone down hill with customer service. Day of the lady at the front desk was annoyed I was not paying for everyone and that she had to refund me for some of my deposit. She kept saying I could pay for someone and they pay me back even after I said no. I did love my stylist and she did a amazing job but the frustration of everything outweighs the day of service.

This then led to both of them needing to heat up their wax which took up more time too as the other esthetician requested some of my esthetician's wax while I awkwardly stood in the corner of the room waiting to undress. They both were very kind but it was really a let down because I was on a tight schedule today and the whole appointment took 30 minutes when it typically should take 10-15. ABOUT SERVICE: I have gotten a brazilian multiple times before at other places and have done so much research on how it is done, and the way it was being done to me was incredibly painful and caused irritation. Not only was the wax being applied while not melted enough, the esthetician was spreading the wax in all directions and lifting the stick which tugged and caused a lot of discomfort for me. She then applied a strip and pulled in all directions instead of against the grain. This caused wax to continue to stick onto my skin where she repeatedly tried to use the strip to stick and pull off wax (this caused major discomfort to me skin even after I left). After the waxing she used tweezers to get majority of the leftover hair (thankfully), but then proceeded to just put powder on my skin and said I was done. I got home with wax still sticky on my skin and discomfort when urinating and wiping even hours after the appointment. This would have been a completely different story if it was one or the other, but being late and doing an improper service really bummed me out and I hope my skin heals soon. I just really wanted good service and hope people see this and do some more research before committing!

What I find to be absolutely ridiculous is the fact my lash artist refused to work me in when I reported losing multiple lashes on both eyes due to my lash schedule being thrown off by a whimsical vacation she decided to take. Everyone deserves to take a vacation, however the business owner/lash artist should also consider accommodating their client when they report losing multiple lashes in one week because their over due for a fill! Verses expecting them to wait over a week until their next scheduled appointment! I was told " I have nothing, I'm really busy fitting people in since my vacation". "I absolutely appreciate you, I appreciate all my ladies to the fullest". "I just wish there were more hours in the day". After receiving that response via email, I felt far from an appreciated customer who always kept scheduled appointments, referred others and left a generous gratuity in her hand every two weeks! If you decide to use this studio please have a back-up lash artist on speed dial because you will NOT get worked in with Sheila unless she's reworking her schedule prior to going on a whimsical vacation! Hopefully providing an excellent customer experience becomes the focus of their business model one day! ______________ 09/27 update ______________ After contacting the lash studio with photos showing the shape my lashes were in, I received this blank Thank You card with a partial refund of my last service. WOW! Notice the chunky clumps of lashes in my photo below? For those of you reading the raving reviews following mine about the wonderful lash retention this handful of people experience after a little gossip session with Sheila. FYI ~ Sure adding copious amounts of glue to clumps of lashes verses individually placing them will most definitely make the lashes stay on but it's not healthy for your natural lashes. I always wondered why my eyelids were so puffy/itchy at times and how she was able to do a fill in 45 minutes. It took my new lash artist a while to remove the glue clumps!
