Dude, whoever is managing this place needs to get trained on simple queue management (same with the staff) and proper staffing. Had to wait 20 minutes to get 2 bottles because the cashier couldn't check the ids of a 21 and 22 year old cause "those ages are too close to the cutoff" and needed a manager...like you work at a liquor store, knowing how to check ids should be the bare minimum skill you have as a cashier. They then opened up a second aisle but started pulling people from the back rather than the people in the front that had already been waiting forever, like idiotic customer service approach. Also zero hustle from the workers in general. Will avoid this one at all costs. Should of went to Costco instead, hella on point queue management and better prices. read more

Have had to deal with unpleasant employees multiple times at this location. The customer service should be better.

First of all I have a thing for customer service. I have been known to visit a location many times that has Superior customer service even if the prices are a little high and sometimes the products are average. That being said this is my story. Spouse and I visited this location and franchise for the first time this morning and had found quite a few things that we liked and a few we were going to try. We had just finished talking with a salesperson who was outstanding when another salesperson with three folks in tow walked right in front of us with not so much as a how-do-you-do or an excuse me and proceeded to monopolize the very section we were looking at for a good 5 minutes as he explained the various nuances of some of the wine. My wife who has the patience of a saint would have stood there much longer than 5 minutes as I would have had we at least been acknowledged with even a cursory " excuse me". We were in no hurry so the extra time would not have been an issue . Any sort of acknowledgement not forthcoming spouse and I left our cart with our selection of wines and spirits sitting in the aisle and calmly walked out While I am very impressed with the prices, layout of the store and very large selection I cannot in good conscience recommend this location unless you know exactly what you want can't walk in pick it up and walk out. Browsing apparently is not encouraged. Yes I know this sounds like sour grapes over just one rude salesperson, but with just one polite "excuse me please" this bad experience could have been avoided Then again maybe I expect too much in today's retail markets. read more

3.5 Stars. I continue to visit Total Wine on a very regular basis (weekend wine tastings are very addictive!), but find some decisions the company has made to be poor. A few years ago, they began categorizing the beer on the shelves and that made it more difficult to find certain beers. I'd rather they just alphabetize by brewer. They do have a seasonal section, which is helpful, but many times they are out of their seasonals. I was able to snag one 6 pack of Shiner's Strawberry beer, but it never reappeared during the summer 2017. They rarely have many growler fills to choose from. They also inconsistently carry Ballast Point's Mai Tai and Bloody Mary mixes. I know that might be an issue with the distributor, but I really want to have a chance to purchase those items that I really like. *Tip* They recently updated their rewards program to provide loyalty rewards, like discount coupons after spending a certain amount of money. For wine, liquor, and beer selection, Total Wine can't be beat. I'm not much of a wine drinker, and even I was impressed by the massive selection of wines they had. Almost each one has a small description on the tag so you have an idea of what to expect in your bottle. They have a pretty wide selection of liquors, with multiple varieties of each type. The rum and vodka selection was especially tempting. I was in search of some Belgian lambic and headed over to the beer section. In addition to the common Lindeman's brand, they had 3-4 other brands of lambic, priced very reasonably. The 11 oz. bottles of the Lindeman's brand were about 1-2 dollars less than the prices I've seen at other stores. I picked up 2 types of framboise lambic that I hadn't seen before until now. Check out was easy, and the cashier was very friendly and cheerful. If you're looking for value, selection, and quality, Total Wine is your place to be! read more

My husband and I stopped by this location on our way to a staycation for my birthday and needed help finding a great tequila to celebrate. We walked in and noticed some of our favorites were missing (there's an agave shortage, we knew this walking in) and was immediately greeted by Sarah. Sarah was so kind and helped us with a few recommendations and took the time to walk us through some general knowledge and tastes of a few of her favorites as well. When we were still unsure of which we tequila to settle on, she brought in another colleague, Michael. Michael helped us narrow down our choices and challenged us to expand our palate. My wife and I have been here several times and never have been asked for an ID from either one of us, and I'm sure their policy is to ID those who look under a certain age. Tell me why of all nights, the one night my wife forgets her ID they ask for both of ours? And literally right before we tried to check out an older woman had bought her alcohol fine and without being asked for ID. Like the store in general, this review is for curbside pick up ONLY. Drove around repeatedly waiting for one of only THREE curbside pick up spots to open (went before 11am on Saturday). Gave up (how much time can I be expected to drive around?). Instructions to pick up your order is to text the number on the sign at parking spot. Since I wasn't at the parking spot I didn't know what number to text. So I called the store and waited for someone to pick up. Tried that twice, was disconnected both times while waiting for someone to pick up. Gave up, went into the store. There was not a single person at the customer service desk in the front, but the sign directed you to the tasting area for online pick up orders. So I walked back there. There was no one there either. I probably only waited a minute, as by this time I was so annoyed that I had no patience. So I walked backup to the customer service desk. There was someone there at that point and I asked them if they could get my curbside order. They took my name & went in the back and got my order. My order was small and honestly the time I wasted would been better spent running into the store and grabbing everything myself. If you are going to offer curbside service you should do it correctly, or not even bother to advertise it as something that is available for your customers during the pandemic. If I could give them 0 stars I would but Yelp only lets you give 1 star. read more

I go to total wine almost every weekend to try the new ones that you can taste right there at the tasting station gives you perspective and a little history on each one that you drink so that you can understand your pallet much better. TL;DR - great prices! Little SNAFU, but was cleared right up! Ordered online delivery, got here an hour early, 1/2 the order was correct, and 1/2 the order was incorrect. Total Wine made it right and re-delivered with the correct items. Long Version: I ordered online delivery - (3) handles of Tito's Vodka and (3) 15-packs of Four Peaks Kilt Lifter. It was scheduled to be delivered 6pm-7pm. The delivery got here at 5:06pm (yay!), the delivery driver gave me my items, and I took them inside without double-checking (at first glance, everything looked correct, I had 3 handles of Tito's and 3 15-packs). Once inside, I realized that the beer wasn't what I ordered. I ordered Four Peaks Kilt Lifter and received the low-calorie version called Gilt Lifter (nearly identical packaging). The national customer service desk had *just* closed before I got my order, so I called the closest local Total Wine, hoping they could help. The first woman I spoke with understood my situation and told me she'd get someone who could help (didn't catch her name). She found a gentleman by the name of Grant who got on the phone and proceeded to assist. He explained that Total Wine uses a 3rd party company to facilitate deliveries and that it might be difficult to get another driver to come drop off the correct items. He got my order and contact information and told me he'd speak with the manager to see what could be done and give me a call back. Another gentleman called me back about an hour later (6:30pm-ish) and said that someone named Kyle would be dropping off the order to swap out the wrong item within the next 15 minutes and also asked if I had any preferences for a no-contact option (awesome customer service during current circumstances). Kyle (an employee directly from Total Wine) was there right on time and it was a seamless exchange. Total Wine went above and beyond to correct a problem that was technically caused by the 3rd party delivery service. They still delivered the correct items within the initial delivery window. They had great prices and exceptional customer service! I will definitely buy from Total Wine again and would recommend them to others. read more

I am a bit frustrated. Went into your store Friday evening, looking to see if you had a certain wine. First stop customer service, was a little help. Asked an employee when i was in the aisle suggested and she couldn't find it. This employee was of little or less help, said go back up front for wine manager. Stood at customer service, nobody in sight for a while. Finally woman who previously sent me up to front, came up to me and asked if i found wine manager. To which i answered there is nobody around here. Finally some to help, she could not spell the name of wine when looking for it, and her answer was " see ?" Showing me her phone. To which i am FORCED to ask, does this mean you don't have it now, never have had or have to order it , or what? Obviously would have been nice to just get help when needed, and not the blow off. TW&M has cheaper prices than BevMo and over time I will save money. Their selection is phenomenal. I think they have a bigger wine/champagne selection too, but I am not much of a winer drinker so I may not be the one to review this part of it. There are so many sections and different types of bottles that every time I come in here I don't even know which one place to start in. They have so many of the harder to find things like Magner's pear cider and other stuff that normal places don't have. It's also cool that you can mix and match your own six packs of bottles if you want to try new things and not commit to the whole case. However, I stood at one place, waiting for a sample for about 5 minutes. I was the only customer there. The sample guy was talking to another sample person. I just stood there. I was lookin' for a bottle of Rosa Regale tonight to ring in the new year. This rose-infused banfi isn't the most common sparkling wine, and Trader Joe's only has it sometimes, so I wanted to make sure that I went to a place that certainly had it in stock. Did I find it? Yup, I got the last one actually. The selection is enormous, and if I had an extra hour or two, I would have gone through the store with a fine-toothed comb to familiarize myself with what they have. Came to this location expecting to find Ballast Point's new Pineapple Sculpin IPA. Much to my dismay, they didn't have it yet (despite Ballast Point telling me they had trucked a full supply to AZ the week prior). Nevertheless, this TWAM proved to have an excellent assortment of local and national craft beer. I was super excited and surprised to find they had Mother Earth's Hop Diggity double IPA, the first of this brewery I've seen in AZ. Hopefully they add some additional beer from So Cal breweries soon so I have an alternative from driving all the way there to get some! Hehe. read more

Oh, this place is dangerous. A wine & alcohol super store? I was like a kid in a candy store. This last visit I created my own 6 pack of beer from individual craft brews, which is a very cool idea -- getting to sample a wide variety of quality beers without committing to a whole 6 pack. They stock some harder to find spirits here too. I saw some Rums that I don't normally see other places. I haven't compared prices to other beverage stores, but I'll be back here for the selection alone. read more

I used to get all my liquor at grocery stores, but then I found Bevmo, and I thought thats it, no more grocery stores this place is too great. However, then I found Total Wine, and it completely changed the alcohol buying world for me altogether. Total Wine is hands down my favorite place to purchase my favorite different liquors and this location is by far my favorite one to visit. Not only is the staff here super helpful and friendly, but every time I go in here there is some kind of free wine or liquor tasting. It's like the free samples at Costco, but with alcohol. Not too mention they always have the best craft brews available on tap to fill your Growlers with. On top of all those wonderful qualities, they have the best prices. I am a whiskey man myself, and not only do they have the best selection, but their prices are sometimes $5-$10 cheaper than grocery stores and competitive liquor stores. During recent visit at this location, my small group of friends came in to buy an assortment of drinks for a get together and we were honestly just surprised by the experience. After spending almost 25- 30 mins shopping; without any greetings or help from staff; we went to check out. We were all paying separately and the cashier refused to check out because one person in our group didn't have her ID on her person. She went to the car to get the ID but while she was gone the woman who I think was the manager came to assist the cashier. She tried to whisper "I don't think they're understanding". In a very rude and passive aggressive tone. My friend and I, with IDs in hand, were very confused about the comment because every one was very clear. The manager lady then proceeded to tell us they would not be able to sell any of us liquor. We then understood what was happening and decided to postpone the purchase and return another time. We returned all of 20 mins later to try again hopefully getting a cashier that was not discriminatory towards younger people. We checked out with one of the cashier involved previously so we were then forced to talk about the situation that had just happened after hoping to put it behind us. He then continuously apologized for the inconvenience and tried to make ridiculous reasons to excuse the actions of the manager. We understand that younger high school age kids lie all the time but we do not look underage nor do we dress a way that would give any reason for concern. We are frequent shoppers at total wine. What is the difference between a adult couple purchasing liquor with their teenage child(12-17) ? Which I'm sure happens all of the time at any location. I do not plan on returning. read more

Like so many of us, you grew bigger and older and wanted to sound more sophisticated, so you changed your name and moved across the country. Those of us who can say we "knew you when" (their first store was near my hometown) maintain that you are still the best damn place on earth to recreate that scene from "Leaving Las Vegas" where Nicholas Cage fills a grocery cart with booze. I tried Total Wine for the first time during its Grand Opening weekend... I was greatly disappointed, 4 of the 6 bottles of wine I had purchased had gone bad. I kept them on my counter for a few weeks and never took them back... I wish I did now! I waiting a few months then decided to try it again, to pick up some Espresso vodka. I found that their regular prices for my Van Gogh Vodka was $6 less than I've found it at Bevmo on Sale! I also picked up some other great liquors and mixers while I was there. The selection of wine and spirits there is unreal... it's like a Cosco for booze. Since after this trip, I was very impressed with the selection and pricing. I went back again for some more liquor and was pleased again. The next time I decided to give their wine another try. I had just taken a trip to Napa and had some specific wines in mind that I wanted to purchase. They had all but one. The gentleman helping me was very knowledgeable, he knew the vineyard and suggested a couple other wines that would be very similar, he was correct, they were awesome! I would recommend stopping in Total wine, they had a slow start with me, but have since gained momentum and have taken my favorite liquor store award away from Bevmo! read more

I'm a frequent Total & More visitor, always walking up and down the aisles, picking up and putting down 6-packs in search for a favorite to enjoy that evening, or pondering what the new brew will taste like.
