I walked to the register and greeted the cashier (Jackie -- according to the receipt older lady) & she just looked at me.. she didn't start scanning nothing.. just looking so I just stared back at her ... then she says I need to see your ID. That's completely understandable but the stare off??? Anyways gave my ID and she told me some things that I needed to know since I was doing instacart and I felt maybe she just a not so happy elderly woman.. to my surprise she does know how to greet people because she did the folks behind me. lol this seems so petty but kindness goes a long way... My friend wanted a certain type of tequila called Addictivo. We'd called several package stores and no one nearby carried it. Finally reached out to Total Wine and they had it for a great price! The store is huge with tons of selections of a liquors, wines and even cigars. My first time here and I was super impressed. They even had some tastings throughout the store! Very small compared to what we have in Texas, this one being maybe 65% the size of the ones I frequent. The selection was similar, tho they had some odd whiskeys that I'd not seen before. In Texas they have a section just for Texas based distilleries, I did not see that here for Louisiana distilleries, tho I don't know how many distilleries LA actually has. I went in for my scotch to have at the hotel rather than spends the cost of a bottle on two small drinks at a bar. Prices were even with what we have back home, I didn't notice any mark up. I also didn't see much if any allocated items. Tequila and wine are up front at this location, whiskeys and beers in the back. It was a Friday night at 1930 when we got there, it was a very busy store. They had 4 cashiers with 4-5 people in each line. The cashier I had was very kind and friendly, I made chat with her as she kept asking to herself in a low tone "what are ya'll doin tonight?" It was a bit humorous. Store was clean, location of the spirits in different areas but the shelves were all set up and displayed the same as other stores. Very normalized. read more

Total Wine has become one of my go to stops for wine, liquor, mixers or even ingredients for a mocktail. They have such a wide selection, and I love how the store is organized which makes shopping so much easier. But not only that they have some of the best classes. I attended my second class with them recently and it was everything and more. The class was From Tip to Toe A Wine Tour of Italy. We had the opportunity to try 8 wines and an extra one for Lagniappe. Our instructor Hank was so knowledgeable and witty, and while sipping the great selections of wine we also learned the history behind the making of the wine and about the region it is from. There were also meats and cheese and delicious pastas to eat with our tasting. I have been to a winery for a tasting but this class was by far the best experience and worth the money. Cashier refused service to my 22 year old Marine stepson who was home for the holidays. He was trying to purchase 2 bottles of wine and some cigars for me and him. The cashier had a problem with his girlfriend being with him. When I called to speak to a manager, some woman refusing to give her name was extremely rude, and concluded our call by hanging up the phone in my face. Called corporate next, but they were no help. Yeah I know..I wont lose any weight if I keep drinking BUT my vice could always be worst. This place has every type of spirit imaginable. I appreciate that the aisles are labeled because you could easily spend quite a bit of time searching around. They also have snacks, soft drinks, water, and all sorts of things for the novice or avid drinker. Plenty of free parking and a self sanitizing station near the entrance for hands and shopping carts. They also offer a rewards program..free to sign up. There are free alcohol tastings too...not sure what days or how often. Prices to accommodate every budget without sacrificing quality. I have heard this place referred to as the "walmart of wine" and I would have to agree, minus the unsavory characters, there is a great selection, and amazing prices. It is in the building on Veterans Blvd where the Best Buy was between Severn and Cleary. They have a huge selection of not only wine, but every liquor you can think of, beers, ciders, canned beverages of all varieties. We have been here a few times since it opened in the spring. They offer a frequent buyer program and there are sales in addition to the great prices. There are always folks milling about to ask questions and advice of, the cashiers have always been very nice. Love this place! It's the true DisneyLand for adults! The staff at this place is always so helpful and it's crazy how much knowledge they have of their products! Adult candy store. I would like to first say that I should not be able to come here by myself, there is no self control whatsoever. Now, tucked away in Metairie off of vets there is a land where adult bevy's and treats are sold. With its own parking lot that wraps around the whole building there's plenty to go around! The employees are always so pleasant and they are definitely very helpful! Their selection has a good variety, however the Southeast Asia representation is slim pickings. They have a whole section for wine, and each isle is clearly labeled! If you're not finding exactly what you're looking for no need to worry, most of the time they have something slightly similar. They usually have tasting from different companies out and about and they also have a cigar room worth noting. Things like chips, nuts, and bar snacks are also offered here as well. There's been a lot of "buzz" about Total Wine, prices and selection being the most top mentions. Sunday night I made my pilgrimage and the fans were not wrong! This place is a wonderland of booze! Wine is organized by country, region, and varietal. I've never seen so much wine in my life! Tags had clear pricing and descriptors for tasting notes. Found a few of my favorites priced $5-$8 below grocery retail! Every liquor and cordial you can imagine, from airport bottles to minis to the huge party handles and collectors edition of various vodkas, scotch and tequila-my eyes were really bugging out of my head! I was approached no less than 5 times but quickly assured them I didn't need help and was just orientating myself. There were snacks, mixers and party favors; cocktail caviar anyone? If you're abstaining they also had a large selection of n/a beers and spirits including the elusive Lagunitas Hop Water! As I turned the corner into craft beer land just past the humador for cigar enthusiasts I spotted a stockpile of my favorite seasonal Christmas beer and snatched up two sixers tout suite! Every visit is a learning experience thanks to the staff who are very knowledgeable about their stock. Whenever I ask for a recommendation, I love it. Total Wine has it all!! I was in for the shock of my life by the selection Total Wine offers! I came here specifically for spirits and accoutrements, so I didn't indulge in my first love, wine. This was my first time going to the chain, so I was expecting the entire store to be wine. Roughly 40-50% of the sales floor is allocated to wine while the rest of the store holds spirits, beer, cigars, mixers, snacks, glassware and bar tools. Literally whatever you may need they have, from chips and cheese, to citrus juicers, sodas, juices, and a huge selection of refrigerated beers and ciders. I'm not a cigar consumer, but there is a cellar dedicated to that. Wines are set up by region and type. There's a sample tasting station in the middle of the floor and cheese for sale at the registers. Total Wine has a rewards program that you can sign up for online or in store. Their prices are pretty competitive, and you save 15% by purchasing by the caseload for their winery direct selections. The store offers curbside pickup and limited delivery as well as online shipping. The sales associates were plentiful on the floor and were eager to help me find what I was looking for throughout my shopping trip. read more

Now that this location is open, I always stop here when I'm in town for my own needs, as well as the needs of my friends that live in the Quarter without a car. It's definitely worth the stop. Some things that I've noticed... 1. The novelty of this store is still high. I have yet to go there when there hasn't been a crowd. 2. This is on par with the Total Wine's that I've been to in GA, and I love that consistency with such a great product. 3. Whether we've done order ahead (with curbside pick-up), or gone in store, the service has been impeccable. Even when others place an order, they can list you as their pick up person and they'll deliver everything to your car all in one fell swoop. Whatever I've looked for, they've had. If I need a case of something, they'll climb the ladder to get it and then take it to my car. They have a great selection, and even better prices than most others. I had heard the hype about this place, so I took a field trip to Metairie to see what it was all about. WOW. Total Wine has it all. I know that it's a chain, but that doesn't seem to put people off. The booze is cheap and plentiful and they are bound to have whatever you're looking for. I'm a beer person and their craft beer selection can't be beat. They have a ton of local brews as well as national brands and they are all well priced. Every section is packed with everything you can imagine and they even have snacks like beer nuts and cheese poofs. The staff is super helpful and they have a whole section for "sampling", if that's your thing. If you need alcohol for a party or just a Saturday night, this should be your first (and likely only) stop. read more

This might be my favorite place in the whole world. It's like Disney World for adults. There are so many wines, spirits, beers, etc it can be a little overwhelming. Fear not! Because a friendly, knowledgeable staff person is never far away and they are willing an answer any questions you might have. I was just poking around curiously in the red blends and a worker struck up a conversation with me, recommending what is now today my most favorite wine of all time (and I never really drank reds before!). I had no problem getting help to navigate around this massive libation heaven. The staffers were everywhere in the store. I met Joyce first who assisted me to the specific area I was trying to get to, then Joyce explained to me the difference in the libations I was inquiring about and wanting to buy. As I continued on moved on I stopped a young man and asked for directions to another area of specific libations and not only was I taken where I wanted to get, but guess what, the young man was Bill Miller, Manager. Whoa Nellie! Do you know how inaccessible managers are? Uh huh, dat's right. Mr. Miller introduced me to the App, of which I will be adding to my phone , and I was able to get everything I anticipated and came for. I also met the Manager of the wine section. She was so very accommodating and kind. Please take time to visit, browse and buy at Total Wine & More. There's every beer, high end, low end, local, nationwide and foreign. There's every wines, whiskey(s), champagnes, moonshines from Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, etc.! There's MORE! It's affordable, I saved a tidy sum with the items I picked up today. Total Wine was to deliver a Christmans gift to me from a friend. While I was home that day, no one knocked, rang the bell, nothing. Then I got an email, not text or call, that my order was returned and refunded. I gave a review on their site about this, and the review was edited to delete all comment and user name/location. While the prices may be just ok, the customer service is absymal, delivery is non-existent, zero communictiton with the customer. There are better places to shop, like Martin Wine Cellar, or several others that have the same prices and are local business'. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Spend your money with a business that cares for the customer. read more

I found my absolute fave wine in here and it was all from the help of a sales associate - Ireal! I think that was her name. I was a little shocked when first walking into the store. IT IS UNBELIEVEBLE! So many different wines, spirits, snacks, drinks. You name it, it was probably there. I didn't know where to begin. I don't always know what I want, but I'm definitely a red wine drinker. So I was just looking around and Ireal lead me to a merlot I do believe that was THE BEST THING. I've been back to just grab that but I'll definitely be back again. I did grab a case of High Noons - peach of course. I would like to go back and take some time in there. If you aren't familiar with what you want, I highly suggest asking for assists. She was so hopeful and lead me to two wines that I can drink. If you aren't wanting to ask for assists, I would look for the "top" tags stating it is a top seller in its division of wine. read more

This place is solid gold. Great selection of wine, spirits, beer...you name it. They carry so many items I struggle to find other places like Evolution #9 or Jimador Anejo tequila. Prices are excellent and the staff is always very helpful. No reason to shop anywhere else for adult beverages. read more

Just to be clear, I MUCH prefer shopping small and local for everything. But I'm pretty sure the expression on my face when I walked into Total Wine was like a 9-year-old walking into FAO Schwarz the first time. French wine is my thing, and I stood there spellbound by more bottles of first-growth Bordeaux than I've ever seen in my life! Granted, I didn't have several hundred dollars to spend on one bottle of wine, but it was wonderful to just stand there in their glow for awhile. Ditto for a $4500 bottle of scotch. But don't despair, they have thousands of bottles of beer, wine, and liquor for us mere mortals. I left with some Dixie IPA I hadn't found before, and lots of ideas for gifts and my own personal shopping list. Prices are very reasonable. This review happened during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. So the old Best Buy went under and in its place a HUGE wine store was put up in its place - I will take it. Since I am observing the stay at home order, I ordered six bottles of wine online. My order was quickly filled and I could have picked it up that night (I ordered around 5 pm or so). Unfortunately the Louisiana locations are not allowed to do curbside pickup, but I was able to walk inside, go to the pickup counter (it's to the right) get my wine, have my ID checked, and leave in less than 10 minutes. If you are looking to browse in store - there seems to be a ton of selection. You earn points on every purchase and after a certain number of points you start to earn $$$ off! It looks like during the non-covid times there are classes to learn about wine etc. I don't know about you but wine classes are my favorite. I can't wait until this virus goes away so I can explore this place more in depth. But for now I will just browse online and do the super convenient pickup system! read more

I heard some times/days there is wine tasting. This new addition to the scene in Louisiana is part of a large chain. The store features a large selection of wines from very inexpensive to some very nice bottles. Local wines, sparkling, etc are along the right side of the store. There is a distillery section featuring bourbons, a large selection of scotch and a fair whiskey selection. Aisles of vodka and gin are much smaller than others. There was a good and interesting selection of tequila as well. Beer selection is solid. Good mix of local and national craft brews, cold beer fridge in the back with self serve and kegs available. The layout of the beer section allows for plenty of case stock in addition to individuals. Hard cider, hard seltzer and other drinks. Good selection of mixers including fever free tonic water - but that was located in two different places and a bit confusing. Glassware, bareware, ans bar tools throughout the store. Some of the locations don't make sense- but they just opened and things will change over time. Prices are good on some items - best price on Veuve Cliquot and Maker's Mark in the city (including better than Costco). They have a rewards program and if you plan on shopping there it may be a good idea to join. There is a tasting area that is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday right now. Excellent store hours (open until 10pm). There is a cigar room as well as a classroom in the back of the store. I'm sure I've missed a few things - but I will update this review over time. read more

Very disappointed today with the customer service and yes I'm 30 years of age and married to buy wine to gift my mom and brother in law. I felt discriminated by the representative at the customer service area. It has never been an issue of me purchasing wine there before. The gentleman in front of me had a baby and was able to purchase wine. I was unable to purchase wine for my mother bday because my sister was with me. The gentlemen at the customer service neglected to fully explained why it was right for the gentlemen before me to purchase wine with a baby but I was unable too buy wine for my mother bday with my sister with me. It doesn't make sense to me at all. Therefore, lost a loyal customer today. read more
