He is also a good listener and communicator. The ambience is a bit formal and at the same time comfortable. I was there late and closed the place down with five minutes to spare. I had excellent hot green tea, Hamachi, tuna, and the house salad. When I asked for anything I got it right away. I asked for extra ginger, which was delicious. The wasabi was perfect. I enjoyed the house salad with their unique dressing. The young lady Lorraine was very helpful as well. I am thankful they took care of me. Hiro is the first person to explain the problem with monkfish pate. I have asked other places and they avoided answering why it's no longer served. Naturally it's because it is cost prohibitive. Nobody else would say that to me. Logical. I appreciate the confirmation.

Sushi, noodle salad and more...great comfort food. We found out they relocated to the old Gretna neighborhood near the Courthouse recently so why not see how things are now in their new digs? Walking in, we noticed a big difference. In the previous spot, they were in a strip mall where they were small and intimate. In their new location, they have more space and a separate area with a bar. I think this was previously occupied, but on the eyes it can be a bit confusing. Within minutes, we were ready for ordering. For apps, we both ordered noodle salad, one of our favorite dishes. Sophia said the aftertaste was like mayonaise and I noticed the difference too. Maybe the mix was a little strong, but it was good. For the main course, I ordered baked salmon rolls which consisted of baked salmon fillet wrapped around snow crab filling and we shared fried fish cakes with wasabi sauce for dipping. Everything was delicious and just like previous times after moving away, made us feel like we were back home. However, the reason why the rating was 4 stars was due to the lack of intimacy the new location offered. It looks gorgeous, but again, the presence of intimacy seemed a distant memory. We sat next to a group who was a little loud and inebriated, even though they weren't harming us. A situation like that at the previous location would never happen. Sophia mentioned the same thing too as we left. Would we come back? Yes, but maybe during lunch where it's less people. We'll give them some time in this location.

What I…read morewasn't aware of is that some restaurants will shut down operation to fully dedicate their kitchen to king cake operations which they ship to local vendors and around the country. I came here for breakfast and learned all of this. So no breakfast during Mardi Gras season. Im here for a few months but its just me. I do not need to (i am capable of) eat an entire king cake by myself. These workers and owners were so accommodating and welcoming to me that i was able to purchase two slices which were hot off the press. This display of southern hospitality, flexibility, and willingness to serve the community has earned my business for life. They also own a place called Toast Gretna and so far its amazing. Did come to the table quickly though which I appreciated. My friend got a breakfast sandwich. It looked very good, and she enjoyed it. I'd return, but would try something else from the menu. If you want a quick bite, this is the place to go.

Amore has an…read moreupscale feel to it as they decorate for all the major holidays with Christmas being one of my favorites. The desserts they serve up are very well done. Angelo Brocato serves his mmmmm so good large cannolis, gelato, Italian cookies, and Spumoni here. I promise you won't be disappointed if you come here for a sweet snack. Eat local, Enjoy!
