The store was clean. As I browsed the store, it looked well stocked. They have the store well organized. I thought it was easy to find what I was looking for. Two staff members asked if I needed assistance and I thought that was very nice. I like how the aisles have good ample space. They have good eclectic choice of wines, beers and mixers. I think this is a good spot to get dinner gifts and party favors. They have glassware and snacks. The store has non-alcoholic options. Check out was a breeze. Of course they are diligent in asking for identification. I appreciated them putting my beverages in a safe drink cardboard carrier to carry my items home. Cheers! read more

Sooo close to the Big holiday and I look over at the wine rack and OH MY GAWD it's completely empty! Thanksgiving totally wiped out my inventory. Not good. I had off today and a lot of coupons to use so I hit the app to start shopping. One thing I adore about Total Wine, they still do curbside pickup. All I have to do is pick out what I want, and after researching the taste notes, add it to my basket. The thing I love about this store is the selection. I know I could go to a local store but I know what I like to drink, I don't need some hipster telling me I'm wrong and how I need to be drinking a higher alcohol red blend. Blech. The folks at Total Wine listen to you and help you find something you may like. Thanks to them I have widened my tastes to include some Portuguese wines and some South African as well. I had been just a French and Italian wine drinker. After I finish making my selections, I can select a time and know that all I have to do is show up for them to plop my order in the trunk. This is my second not-so-good review of this store. Most times when employees do a great job reviews are not given, apparently because we as customers expect great service when we are spending our hard-earned dollars. A few years ago I was overlooked at the wine-tasting bar, standing there like an idiot being invisible. I left a review on Google. My complaint this time is subtle racism, I am a black 71-year-old female, college educated, own numerous rental properties, has a substantial stock report, but more often than I would like to mention I am not appreciated when spending my hard-earned dollars. So on Feb 06, 2024 cashier Anthony opened a new line to accommodate customers, so I decided to check out the new line. Upon checking out he did not greet me, no hello how are you, or Did you find everything you were looking for? I greeted him, and in return, he asked for my phone number for the reward points. I gave him my phone number and proceeded to leave the store. Upon my exit, I heard him say to a white customer, "Hello Mam how are you today"? What I should have done was turn around and return the goods, because I was again a victim of subtle racism, it happens every day all day. Being Black in America is a curse because I experienced it at banks, Vet shops, and in return I have taken my business elsewhere. Corporate America it is common courtesy to greet ALL Customers spending money in your establishment, so in the future, I will shop at Trader Joe, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Lidl, Lowes Foods, Aldi, and Dollar General, as you can see I have choices and I will NOT tolerate subtle, overt racism!! read more

They have a great selection but the organization of some items is difficult to find, even using the app. The staff are helpful and have good suggestions. At the end of the day the prices for non importer direct wines are good, not great. Still, there's the selection. read more

Shelton was rude over the phone when I was inquiring about placing an order for a case of splits for a baby shower. I'm glad it didn't let that stop me from going in and talking to someone in person because Tony was great! Super friendly, knowledgeable, efficient! Also when going in to pick up my order the young lady that helped me was very pleasant and helpful (she even carried the boxes out to my car for me. I have shopped at Total Wine many times and always walk out feeling like I got a great price on my favorite wines and bubbly. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Was able to get drinks we hadn't had in years, plus a wide selection of brand glasses (Sam Adams, Guinness, etc) and other custom drink ware and unique drink related kitchen utensils and novelty items. Total wine is my favorite place to get my wine fix! With MANY options to purchase wine and individual bottles of beer and ciders, I love just browsing on a slow day. The staff in the store are more than helpful when try to decide the best options for flavor and price. Their weekly wine tasting are also very helpful! My latest trip consisted of me trying to get the best Rose for the buck! The staff helped me exceed my expectations and I ended purchase THREE bottles!!! So far, they have not been a disappointment!! The staff is very informed and knows their wines. The recommendations tend to be excellent. This is a very good thing as the task of weeding out the great deals from the immense population is like finding edible mushrooms in a forest. It takes experience and knowledge. The selection at this store is not the best I have ever seen but it is the best I have seen in North Carolina. If you cannot find a great wine here then you are not looking seriously. I have found some wine here that I thought only a connoisseur from the California Napa Valley would know about. This fact alone was very impressive. read more

Went to pick up a few bottles of wine, and some Pilsner Urquell. Took less than 5 minutes to pick out the items, over 10 minutes to check out. One cashier in the middle of the day, might not be the best customer service approach. Ten minutes behind a lady on a phone and a crying baby seemed much longer. This is the Walmart of the wine trade. Been here a few times and couldn't get help finding anything. No one in the store asks if you need help, and asking for help doesn't do any good either. For example, today I needed to buy a case of relatively inexpensive wine for a party, and couldn't figure out how they have categorized the wines, and so stopped an employee to ask if they had any South American reds. He showed me wines from Spain, which are perfectly fine wines but not what I was looking for, and certainly doesn't answer the question "do you have any wines from South America?" As far as I can tell they carry a large selection of French and California wines, but not a lot else. That may not be true, but I have no way of finding out. In any event I'm not going back. Haven't found a good wine store in town yet but this isn't it. read more

This was the least customer service I've ever seen. We walked in and no one acknowledged our presence. 2 workers were getting an order ready for themselves. One young woman was clearly trying to get the hell out of dodge. The only woman doing any work was the one who checked us out and she was being treated badly by the young woman. There was another woman working but she seemed to be in her own world. I'll stick to the Gate City Boulevard location. read more

Absolutely love this Total Wine. The staff are so friendly and make excellent recommendations. They always have a nice selection to choose from and there always seems to be a tasting going on. I really like how they place recommendation stickers in each section, as recommended by their own employees. I found my favorite wine that way. It can get quite busy but the lines go really fast so don't panic. read more

This place has a good selection of wines. Aisles and Aisles of wine to be more exact. This place also carries craft beer from all over the country and world. This place also has wine tastings and class offerings to gain more knowledge in beer and wine. Yet with all of the class offerings and wine tastings this place does not seem to have knowledge staff about their product. Every time I ask for a sweet wine they automatically point me to a rosso or moscato. I then say I want a sweet wine that is not a rosso or moscato and get a very blank face. I just wish the staff knew their product more. read more

Every time I visit Total Wine & More on Battleground I am offered a friendly greeting. I have been able to find an associate to answer any questions. Todd especially rocks!!! I enjoy browsing the aisles and aisles of wine as well as their selection of beer which includes ciders! Price points are great and there are wine & beer tastings every Friday and Saturday! Checkout normally only takes a minutes or 2 unless you are behind someone who placed a large pick up order. Cashiers are friendly! read more
