Total Wine has a great selection of items. They carry just about anything you could want. They generally have impressive tastings that are really educational if you get the right employee doing them. The pre-order and parking lot pick-up option is a great time saver. This is especially important, because this is the area where Total Wine struggles - there are never, ever enough people working the registers and the lines to check out almost always suck. If they could be a little more mindful of that up front, they'd be a five star store. read more

I've been a loyal customer at Total Wine Bayshore Glendale Wisconsin for years, spending thousands of dollars on wine for parties and events. This morning I ordered wine gifts online, picked up the first order in-store, and a few hours later re-ordered a couple more bottles after confirming the second recipient drinks wine. My wife (we're a married same-sex couple) was out running errands, so I called the store and offered to provide any information needed to prove it was my order (order number, details from the morning pickup, etc.). Staff refused, citing Wisconsin state law against 'third-party' pickups. Even after I explained she is my wife, they became combative and insisted she could not pick it up unless she had the exact same last name. They offered no solutions whatsoever, no option to cancel and re-order, nothing. Their employees were no help at all. What a complete waste of time today. To top it off, the bag they gave me with my first pickup was ripped and unusable when I got home. That was the last straw. We will never shop at Total Wine again. There are plenty of liquor stores in Wisconsin that actually value their customers. Total Wine feels too big and corporate -- it's all about the dollar, not the customer. I highly recommend shopping elsewhere and supporting local businesses instead. Extremely disappointed after years of loyalty. Instead, I highly recommend shopping at local spots like Downer Avenue Wine & Spirits (great selection and friendly service on the East Side) or Otto's Wine & Spirits (multiple convenient locations with solid inventory). I love wine and want my husband to love it too! After my last review, I emailed Total Wine as requested by their Yelp page which you'll see. They even called me back, but I missed the call. The voicemail was nice. Let's be honest though,I wasn't about to call them back. They heard my concerns. No need for me repeat said concerns. I mean if they were offering a free class or gift card this would have been me "Yes, I'm returning a call..." LOL! Friends, y'all get it! This time around, my experience was amazing! 1. Stone was knowledgeable and answered several questions. 2. Were there watermarks on the glasses? NOPE! 3. The pours were more sanitary too! Brenden hovered above the glass (no more accidental contact!). 4. The class wasn't overly packed! Likely because it was a weekday. Either way, I'll take it! I stopped by here to pick up a gift for a family friend while staying in Milwaukee. Total Wine is such a nice store, offering so much more than just wine! I was on the look out for bourbon, and while perusing the aisle I bumped into Total Wine employee Joe, who really is the reason I'm writing this review. Joe was so eager to help me find a great bottle of bourbon in my price range. Immediately, he started pulling out bottles, giving me the back story on the company, notes to taste for, and more. He even gave us multiple samples!! Through this, I learned that Total Wine offers many classes and tastings right there in the back of their store. If the classes are hosted by Joe, sign me up. He was so knowledgeable and passionate on the stories behind each bottle. I ended finding the perfect gift! I was very excited when they decided to build a Total Wine in my area. I'd never been, but heard great things, and for good reason. This store is large with a wide selection of wine, beer, spirits, mixers, cigars, bar accessories, and gifts. They even have a nice selection of non-alcoholic options and tasting events. The salespeople here have always been very helpful to me, knowing where to find what I needed, offering suggestions, and answering all my questions. I also love how you can download their app and place an order for pickup, which is very handy, especially when you're planning on entertaining or pressed for time. Another notable is their selection of "airplane bottles" which I've used as adult stocking stuffers during the holidays. You can get pretty creative in this section alone! read more

I actually I feel fancy shopping here and acting like a wine connoisseur while browsing the insanely large vino selection. Apart from wine, they have a vast amount of liquors, seltzers, and brews. My husband is a big fan of craft beer, especially imports, and we can always find something great and new to try. Plus, he's able to get his hands on some of his favorites from back home in the UK. I was also in need of mini shooters recently and able to choose from literally every type/flavor imaginable. Staff has always been friendly and helpful, offering expert recommendations and customer service. Oh and they have a tasting room, which I've yet to try but no doubt will when I return again. I love Total Wine in general and this store is the best, by FAR, of the 3 locations in the area. It's a smaller profile but we'll stocked and full of genuinely helpful & knowledgeable employees. There were several opportunities to sample different things which was really nice. My Brookfield store has a tasting area but I've never seen it operational nor have I ever sampled anything there. Anyway, great selection and great employees! I wish this one was closer to home, I'd definitely switch over. read more

We have used their online ordering service for pickup three times now in the last few months and their service is top notch. Once you place your order, in which you also indicate the time slot you'll be picking up, they are very good at notifying you when your order is ready. More often than not, it's ready in advance! Once you arrive at the parking lot, you notify them of your designated parking spot number and they come bring it out to you. You can access that via the email and/or the text sent to you. Quick and easy. As for the indoor experience, we haven't yet gone to this location, but if this is anything like the one we've been to (Madison's West Towne Mall), you'll likely find brands that are harder to find elsewhere. The opening of the new Total Wine & More was eagerly awaited by the all of the lushes in the North Shore, and after a couple of visits, I can see why. There is much to like here that differs from most of our local liquor establishments: Wide, bright aisles and high ceilings that give the store a warm, inviting feeling as opposed to the dark, crowded atmosphere of competitors that almost give off an air that something untoward or shameful is occurring. The back tasting room looked impressive, and I don't even drink alcohol! Speaking of teetotalers, there was a small, yet varied selection of non-alcoholic beverages and snacks as well. The variety of items was almost daunting, but I liked that if I need a gift for any of the boozers in my life, I won't have any issues finding something for them here. Some minor issues: - The aforementioned snack/NA section could use some more selections. File it under the "More" of "Total Wine & More." - On the first visit, we easily spent 20 minutes in the store and not a single staff person interacted with us, even the one zoning the wine aisle near the door. Not a great first impression. - The store cleverly filled in blank spots on several shelves with those tasty Dot's flavored pretzels. I debated getting some, but none of the many places I found the pretzels featured a price on the shelf or the product. It's great that you don't want to have a hole in the shelf, but few things are more irritating than seeing something you want but not knowing the price. As a result, I didn't buy any. read more

Total Wine & More: I love this place, their selection is massive! It's like a library for alcohol. What I like the most is their huge selection of sample size/50ml bottles and individual beer cans and bottles. I like to try new products, but it sucks when you drop a lot of dough on a bottle and you end up not liking it. Buying a 50ml bottle for about $1 eliminates that problem. This was my first trip to this location as I normally go to the Greenfield location. I think the Greenfield store has a larger selection of individual beers, so if I consider that store a 5, then I would say the Bayshore location is 4 stars. Definitely worth a visit (and I'm not even a big drinker, especially by WI standards). read more

As the third location in SE WI you'll find yourself familiar with the "Total Wine" set up. The store seemed to have a smaller footprint than the Greenfield location, but still a great selection. Employees were friendly and answered my questions. It was a quite evening, given the rain outside. They have their own parking lot which was nice and they are doing curbside pick up. Hand sanitizer and masks were available at the front door. They have a tasting room, which was set up nicely for looks...I'm guessing they will host classes in the future when they can. read more

Just had the most annoying experience here ever. Yes, they have a good selection but the cashiers are useless. I confirmed with the female cashier that any bottles qualify for their 6 or more 10% off promo, she said yes. ANY bottles. Then I put my 10 bottles on the belt to ring up. She goes to check me out and I ask "Are you going to apply my 10% off?" She responds "Oh that is only for certain Total Wine brand wines". I explained to her that she just told me the opposite. She then goes on to explain that only 3 of my bottles qualify and I can put the rest back if I want and trade them. Honestly not worth going there. Trader Joe's is right around the corner and has just as good of a selection and it's cheaper. Also the employees at TJs can answer questions about anything. Don't advertise, email, and spam your promotions around if your employees aren't even required to be educated about them. DUMB overall. I love this store and the people who serve their customers with smiles and an unbelievable amount of knowledge. Someone told me a few months back I had to go there for the best deals. But not only are their prices great, the selection is unbelievable and the staff is by far the best of any store I have been in. Sadly, a liquor store's employees know me by name but I also know theirs. Freddie is kind, funny, and super helpful. He knows me and what I want to buy. Micheal is top-notch too and has enlightened me to many new tequilas and gins and what makes each one special. I feel like I am going to tequila school when I talk to him! The people who have checked me out have been super kind and the people who help me take my carts (yes, I said carts) out to my car are also super kind. Multiple carts may have been what caused them to remember me by name but I prefer to think that they just care about everyone! read more
