I recently stopped in to pick up some beverages for our Thanksgiving Day party. For the size of this place, I'm really surprised at the fantastic selection they have in stock.I did want a bottle of Asbach Uralt which is an imported brandy from Germany and makes the best Wisconsin style old fashion I've ever tasted. I couldn't find it in the brandy aisle, so I asked, and they said no problem, we keep that in the back. While my father-in-law was still alive, I always kept my Kegerator stocked with 1/4 or 1/2 barrels I bought from Consumer. They have the best in stock selection I could find and if I wanted something special I'd ask, and they'd find it for me. Just a side note, I used to stop here with my buddies on our way to The 24 Outdoor, on Janesville Road in Muskego fifty years ago. Truly, it was the same then as it is now. I love Consumer Beverage! CB has an amazing selection of beer, wine, and spirits. It's almost guaranteed that whatever amazing gem you find will cost less than any other store around. CB is great for every day purchases, and also for hard to find items. I have purchased beer for friends in other states that my friends have otherwise been able to find. My husband stopped in a week or so ago looking for a certain kind of beer (because the out-of-state brewer's website stated it was sold there). He didn't find it and asked the check-out clerk about it. She looked with him, didn't find it, and then took the time to call their distributors to see if they carry that brand of beer. She found out that they haven't for a while, but the fact that she took the extra time to track down the information was AWESOME! Brewski's Had a great fish fry. Lightly breaded. My husband and I had the fish fry. My sister and brother-in-law had Poor Man's Lobster and perch. Those were great as well. Very nice wait staff. We will certainly be back and we're bringing more customers. read more

The Staff were welcoming, helpful And Professional. This was our first time visiting. When we entered the store, we were greeted by smiles and ask if I need any help let them know. I knew exactly what I wanted, and went to a vast assortment of Bourbons. Holy Moses. The store is disorganized. It is hard to find things... But, guess what? It is worth looking in every nook and cranny. Consumer Beverage has some beyond amazing prices! I picked up an Ardbeg An Oa and Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban way below retail. Frankly, a lot of stuff I saw was priced so attractively I could seriously damage my bank account there. I didn't see store picks/private barrel offerings but that's perfectly fine. I found the staff very friendly. My eye caught something behind the counter and I was invited to get a closer look. How many stores let you do that? Answer: Not many. I don't get to Milwaukee all that often but Consumer Beverage makes it absolutely worth the drive. Cheers! read more

So. Much. Variety. I really can't compare the selection here to any other store except perhaps Discount Liquor, but the wine selection at Consumers is second to none that I have seen. There are so many choices, I have to ask for help to decide! The beer selection is vast and varied with plenty of seasonal drinks rotated in. They carry hard to locate brews as well as tried and true favorites. Hard liquor, mixers and soda can also be purchased here. I truly love the staff here. Even their delivery guys, who don't work for the store, have taken time to help me locate stuff. How awesome is that? I once had three employees running around trying to find a daiquiri mix which turned out to out of stock. I don't get service like that at other liquor stores.Clearly I'm just awful at finding what I need, but no one at Consumers makes me fell bad for looking so lost. read more

I cannot say enough great things about this place. Hands-down, one of the best in the Milwaukee area. The selection, the prices, the employees, and the owner are all fantastic. I've done a fair amount of comparisons on their wine prices, for example, to other local retailers and it's a wonder on how the others can compete. Lots of examples where the same bottles are multiple dollars per bottle less. Definitely recommend checking it out, if you haven't already! read more

Great service and great selection. I ran in on a mission to get 12 bottles of champagne and a couple other one-offs. Once I found what I needed, a representative came over to see if I needed any help finding anything - I mentioned I was looking for 12 bottles and they only had 5 out. He went into the back to look, and when unsuccessful, he spoke with another employee to look again. They came out with a full box, and a 10% discount was applied for purchasing the whole case! He offered to help me bring it out to my car, and I left a happy camper. They also have an awesome selection of ciders! read more

Consumer Beverage has a great variety of adult beverages at the best prices in town. Their staff is super helpful. If you can't find it, just ask. If they don't have it they might be able to order it for you. We have even called ahead to see if they carry a certain wine, and they are always great on the phone. We typically come for the huge beer and wine selections. I am amazed that they are consistently cheaper than most all of the other liquor stores in the area on pretty much everything. They run nice promos as well. Right now they are running a beer promo for Summerfest tickets. They also offer case discounts on wine. I just visited this establishment. I heard great reviews and the selection was fantastic. However, I will not EVER visit this store again. This is the first store I've visited that has a complete disregard of COVID-19. Not only were none of the employees wearing masks, but one particular employee made us quite upset. He was a tall younger fellow with brown hair who continued to walk up and down the aisle slowly moving bottles back and forth after we were already standing there. He was within 1 foot of us and must have done this 6 or 7 times over the span of 5 minutes. Not only was he not properly distancing himself from us, he did this countless times and could have waited until we were finished. We stared at him clearly making it obvious we weren't comfortable and he had complete disregard to what was going on. The counters were also not being wiped down between customers and who knows when the last time the credit card machine was. One of the two of us works in healthcare, so who knows..... maybe one of these employees will now contract COVID and will learn their lesson. If you are a conscious human and would like to stay safe during this time, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to buy booze. read more

About a month ago we spent a total of $240.00 on on beer and liquor. There was a 24oz can of tecate that tasted like rust and was absolutely terrible. I thought I would just mention it the next time I stopped by. Today I approched the owner and explained the problem and asked if he would replace the $2.19 can of beer. He looked at me with some of the most judging eyes and asked "do you have the empty can with you" my reply was "well no I don't since its illegal to drive around with an open container in your car and I don't have the receipt since Ive never had to return beer before." Then he says "your out of luck buddy". He made the whole situation awkward and embarrassing. Honestly I wasn't necessarily even that concerned with replacing the item as much as an acknowledgement like--- sometimes products go bad and for that Im sorry. Next time Ill go out of my way to Discount liquor or one of the 5 billion other liquor stores in the Milwaukee area that doesn't treat their customers like crap. read more

In my quest to stock up on Sprecher Hard Root Beer, I discovered Consumer Beverage. We are not so familiar with everything in our new neighborhood and Ray's in Tosa has been my go-to liquor store for awhile now, but I can see heading to Consumer Beverage in the future, as well. It's a big place and though I didn't peruse all the shelves, the selection was large. It's a bit easier for me to get to and the guy at check out was helpful and friendly. Consumer Beverage is nothing fancy, but the prices and selection can't be beat! The beer section is extensive with a long row of foreign and and hard to find brews to pour over. The prices are always considerably less then the local grocery stores and really any other place I've purchased alcohol in Milwaukee. Expect to save a few bucks. Consumer always has special sales and free beer glass deals going on. The staff is most helpful and will happily assist in your selection if in unfamiliar territory. If you're near Hales Corners you might as well stop here and stock up on the good stuff! read more

Just drove from Brookfield there to get a specific beer, was told by the presumably owner they sold out, then minutes after returning home saw others posting they had just purchased said beer but had to be buying other items to be able to purchase. If I was told that I would have easily grabbed a couple other things. Wasted my time and gas too try to give them my money. Last time I will ever stop there, or recommend them. The prices here are very competitive. The best wines are along the wall facing 108th St. On these, you will find very good prices, in general better than anyone else in town. If it is not there, the owner, Mike, generally can order it, again at very competitive (compared to even the internet) prices. There is a good selection of Riedel glassware as well. read more

Best liquor store in the 5 County Milwaukee area. They have everything and if they don't they will order it for you! They have the biggest and best wine selection when looking to stock up on multiple items for an event or your home bar. They offer case discounts on wine and always have crazy good rebates on liquor and wine. They oftentimes run promos for beer involving fests in Milwaukee or Milwaukee sports. Mike (owner) is very knowledgeable and there are distributors in the store often who are also very friendly and will give you tips (e.g., stock up on Vouvray because it's going up in price due to bad season, etc.). We always go here when we need to replenish wine stock or for holidays and events. We also always stop when in the area. Their prices are so good we can't get out without spending $200 because you will feel robbed buying stuff other places. A+++ only complaint is just wish we lived a bit closer! read more

If I could choose only one place in Milwaukee to shop for alcohol, this would be my choice. Great selection of everything and the best prices for wine in town. Great beer variety including Trappists. The staff is friendly and they are more than willing to make recommendations if asked. The best part is that the staff listens to what you want and they make recommendations based on the criteria that you provide, not on the special of the week. This the standard by which I judge all other liquor stores. I work out at the newer fitness center that shares the parking lot with Consumer Beverage. A guy in the locker room was telling me that he was a long term customer of Consumer Beverage and one of the owners daughters swore at him using the fxxk word when he mistakenly parked in one of Consumers reserved spaces to park for the gym. There are plenty of liquor stores in the Milwaukee area that one can truly find what ever they need, why go to a store where they are so rude? I told him I had to agree. I was also a long term repeat customer, had discussions with the owner about gluten free liquor etc so he noticed me. One day they ridiculously had wine bottles loosely situated on one inch high carton covers in the beer area (logical?). I accidentally knocked one wine bottle over and the owner rudely shouted in front of every one in the store. That's $10 I lost. I told him as I paid for my liquor I will take some of the blame, which most would not admit but the wine bottles should not have been placed in a crowded place in a narrow aisle with barely a carton to hold them. He rudely responded. you should have left your cart at the end of the aisle then. I said so its all my fault? He said yes! I said how unprofessional. W/hat a way to run a business and over a $10 bottle of wine when I have given him $100s in a year in business. There are plenty of other liquor stores in the Milwaukee area. Do not deal with this rude child and his family. GO ELSEWHERE!! read more

I have written many reviews complaining about my delivery job and how some people treat others like crap, and I am tired of having to be negative. At this store, I have never been treated better. While asked to do an large amount of work for the owner he is very friendly, funny, accomodating, and appreciates the work that is done. The store does everything to keep prices down, and Mike the owner is a great person. Skip those dicks at discount, or any Pick n save, and spend your money here. This man truly deserves it. Mike I know you will have no idea who this is because you are nice to everyone, but thank you for reminding us blue collar workers that we are still human beings, even though we have to work hard for a living. Went to Consumer on Saturday to get a co2 tank filled and buy some beer. I was standing in front with my tank while my wife was taking a look at the beer selection. The store wasn't overly busy but it looked like only 2 people working. The man was helping someone with a wine purchase. I probably stood there for 5 minutes and then he noticed me. I was abruptly told they were out of co2. Quite frankly I felt like they really just didn't want to take the time to fill my tank. That turned out fine, we drove to Discount Liquor On 51st and Oklahoma where I was treated real kindly. They filled my 5 pound tank quickly while we shopped their phenomenal selection of beer. I would not have gone to Discount Liquor without the help of the guy from Consumer seemingly being too busy. So 2 stars for helping me find a place that is set-up to provide co2 to their customers, and has what I think is a better selection of beer. read more
