Very odd check out experience After struggling through then choppy app to click all the 262 coupons to find the 3 we needed for a small shopping trip. I was shocked to find none of the coupons applied at the checkout. The checkout person was defensive, borderline rude and well armed with excuses. First blaming the android version of the app, then when I showed her the coupons were clipped, she unclipped them and reapplied them. Only 1 of the 3 worked when she updated the register. I put back one product as it was mispriced on the shelf anyway to start with. so onto the 3rd.... the defensive checkout person said.... 'thats for 750ml, you have the 700ml" So I said "its an European import and EU haven't allowed 750ml since the mid 90s and this is the only size you stock". So she applied the coupon. If you're going to make me scroll on a poorly compiled app, through 262 coupons and click the ones I need, probably a good idea for the registers to apply them properly and not have defensive staff with all kinds of excuses as why the coupons don't work. read more

Total wine is always just going to be Total wine, HOWEVER if Carl had never helped me last month I wouldn't be going back today. Carl is so knowledgeable and fun to talk with. I was able to have good bourbon/whiskey convo with him and he recommended some outstanding options! He recommended a 4 grain which I bought for my brother's birthday and oh boy did we all fall in love with it and today I went back for mores Today I saw Carl (he remembered me which was great) and while talking about Ryes he recommended a rye to myself and someone else, even looked to see if they have a sample and they did. He didn't do us wrong, he recommended an outstanding and smooth 95% rye whiskey (Kindred 7yr). While talking he learned I enjoy tequila and mescal and told me to try a tequila old fashions (mind blown) and then showed me a mescal to try . Carl is an amazing employee and person! I bought a 1.75 liter bottle of vodka among 3 other bottles. I didn't notice how they packaged the bottles. I have never had an issue before. The bottles did not clink on the way home. When we arrived home there was vodka all over the back of our vehicle. I took the bottle back to the store. I spoke to the manager at Arrowhead Total Wine, Tony San Palio, and asked if he would split the price of a new bottle as the 2nd bottle was not wrapped in another bag. He said no. I now know why I heard the customer in the next lane ask for each of his bottles wrapped separately. PLEASE, PLEASE ask for each of your bottles to be bagged separately so this doesn't happen to you!! We have a big mess to clean up. I would have given a 0 star review if that was an option. So disappointed. This was my 1st choice...no longer. read more

I'll be the first to admit that I don't drink alcohol, but I'm headin' out to visit my Uncle who's a snowbird that resides in Tucson. He's a fan of craft beers. I'm going to visit him and I asked for suggestions on a local Facebook page for where I should go with a good variety of unique craft beers. And everyone suggested I go to Total Wine. They're conveniently located right on 75th Ave close to Bell Rd. in Glendale. Plenty of ample parking. They conveniently open at 9a even today on a Sunday which is awesome. Parking lot is clean as is the entryway of the store. Their store is quite large, but their section of craft beers was conveniently labeled. Again, I have no clue how one craft beer differs from another. I'm certainly not going to pretend to be an expert by any means. I grabbed three packs based on how cool the cans looked. LOLOL. Hey, at least I'm honest. I only see my Uncle once a year so I'm not exactly sure if he enjoys an earthy note OR a stout IPA or a golden amber blah blah blah. Regardless, the cashier who checked out my purchase was friendly, courteous and professional. They carded me. I paid. I left. If I were a social drinker or an avid alcoholic - Total Wine would be my store of choice. It's extremely clean and their selection of just about everything is enormous. Can't comment on the prices because I don't buy alcohol, but it seemed reasonable if you were someone who needs an alcoholic fix. I had walked up to the Tasting rotunda booth asking for any cream liqueurs or nut liqueurs in search of something new and exciting like Marco Polo and lo and behold Joey steered me in the right direction. The discovery? Borgata's Hazelnut Liqueur. I have since purchased it numerous times for parties this year, and everyone seems to love it. I prefer to drink it straight but it can also spike your coffee, dessert, milkshake, etc. I've also raided their mini bottle section for stocking stuffers, and it's a great way to try something new by risking $3 instead of $30. In addition, to wines I enjoyed looking at the selection of beers that range from America's most popular to hard to find imports. It can be challenging sometimes to make decisions on what to purchase however, the staff at Total Wine are very knowledgeable. Since moving from the Desert Ridge area, this Total Wine has become my "neighborhood" store. I find it much better on several levels; the primary being the traffic navigation nightmare that is Desert Ridge. Always a chore getting out of there. The store itself there is adequate and I did like it but I frankly feel that this location is more pleasant to wander around in. The staff has always been friendly and helpful ( when I needed ) without constantly being over your shoulder. The wine selection is typically broad, as is the case for most of the Total Wine locations I have visited. I take part in a weekly Zoom wine meetup and generally am able to find just about any varietal to suit the different weekly meetup wine themes. Prices range all over the map, so to speak, so I know I will always be able to find something in my price range, whether I want to spend just a few dollars or splurge for something more extravagant, from any part of the world. Of course, the selection of other liquors is also pretty amazing; I invariably stop here if I'm looking for a nice bourbon, whiskey or vodka ( please bring back the Hammer & Sickle! ). Next, I need to expand my beer / IPA repertoire, so I'll be venturing into that section soon. So, yes, I continue to be a fan of Total Wine & More and would highly recommend this location. read more

No one ever asked if I needed help, no one offered any recommendations and the cashier never said one word other than, do you want boxes? As I've stated on numerous occasions, Retail is hard. Hard to find good help, hard to keep good help, hard to keep the place clean, hard to simply keep it fresh. These guys do an amazing job on all of the above. Wine and More. The Wine side belongs to the Princess. She fills a basket of Reds and Prosecco while I peruse the Spirits side of the business. Exotic Whiskeys, Gins, Tequilas, Brandies, Scotches, its all here. Cheap, bottom shelf rot gut? If that's your jam, this is your place. Hard to stump these guys (although I did recently) but each employee carries a mobile device that helps them locate whatever it is you're looking for. Vast selection of beers also. Need a stogie? Check the walk-in humidor (or just walk in for the heavenly aroma of tobacco). Mixers, bitters, glassware, even a sample station for a tasty taste. Worst first impression ever. My husband and I (both 24 yrs old, yet look younger) went in to grab a few bottles of wine and restock. As we've never been to this location we were just browsing the isles looking around at what was in stock. Every employee without reason was rude and not welcoming to us. I assume because we looked young in comparison to the rest of their customers. It made us uncomfortable and we didn't want to ask for any recommendations or questions because of this. Regardless of their reason for their attitudes, it was not a good first impression on our end, and we definitely will not be coming back to this location because of this. This is my third time attending a Wine Class at this location. Mike and Tony have a wealth of knowledge and make the classes super entertaining. I have brought my mom and aunt with me. Trying to get the rest of my friends to attend. It's great to have knowledge of the wine so I'm not just going into the store and grabbing the same bottle every time. Ridiculous Experience I paid and reserved my time the day before and when I got there I had to ask numerous employees where to find the kegs area and to find someone else to find out where my keg was at. No one was able to find it, meaning they did not save me one (which I even got a text saying it was ready), then a manager came in and said "here just take this one, problem solved" like seriously?? This is how you deal with customers! I had to wait 20 mins for someone to help me in the first place. Then went to the front to check out and not one person checked my ID or asked my name for my reservation. I was not pleased with how the employees and especially the managers deal with customers. have always had positive experiences when we shop at total wine. unfortunately on one of the most important times of our lives, total wine was a disappointment. we ordered two kegs of modelo and provided them to our bartender. when we received the kegs back, our bartender stated that she was giving us the dos equis beer back due to nobody wanting it and it being full. we called total wine and let them know, and was told that we could return the keg and get a possible refund. today, my husband goes to return the keg and is told that we cannot get a refund and that it was our fault that the beer was not drank even though it was their mistake in the first place. such a disappointment. do not go to total wine for wedding events. read more

It's never a good experience at any of the Phoenix stores, whether you order online, by phone or walk in. To begin with, the parking is logistically arduous because of the inconvenient locations. The staff are mostly stressed out and try to avoid the customers. The app is completely unacceptable and the special deals they offer are not straightforward or easy to access. The place is a warehouse like Liquor Barn was but not as hospitable . The tech oriented atmosphere is not conducive to boutique wine shopping. It's too bad they take up so much space.
