So BevMo advertises buy one get one for 5 cents. Sounds like a great deal...not quite. I wanted to purchase Jefferson's straight bourbon for this amazing deal. Well when you double the price for the first one and then say the 2nd bottle is 5 cents, not such a great deal. I found the same bottle for $28 at my nearby grocery store. This was my second Bevmo experience. The first time I just browsed the small bottles by the door looking for a nice whiskey for a fancy party we are going to be attending. This trip my husband was with me. He is into the Old Fashions sipping drink and is now using metal balls to keep his cocktail cool. We walked around and they have so many choices and decent pricing. I was so surprised. I thought that they just sold alcohol and related items. It was like a mini grocery store inside. Gifts, wrapping paper, over the counter medicine and first aid, snacks, pizza, ice cream and so much more. So handy! Left with a couple of high end bottles. Fairly disappointed in the same day delivery that did not happen. I placed my order @ 6pm and I received a text that delivery would happen before 9pm. That sounded great. Then another after that saying before 11pm Ok.... Then another saying before 9am the next day. And then another saying delivery between 11am and 12noon. The delivery hopefully happens today. Has to be the worst BevMo I've been in. The slovenly and condescending clerk was entirely uninterested in providing quality customer service, complained to her coworker about forgetting her wallet. Bevmo is one of the worst and overpriced liquor stores around. I was a regular there but no more. They seem to have very unusual sale procedures in regards to scanning your ID to purchase alcohol, as showing them my id is not enough to validate my age any longer....? Wasn't an issue the week before. The older clerk just keyed the dob. Seems like they are too lazy to key in the dob manually. they refused to sell me about 100 bux worth of liquor because of their silly scan id policy... lol. good luck. TOTAL WINE much better option and hassle free. Unprofessional staff for sure. Good thing we are getting a total wine here soon. read more

On a Saturday Night, after ordering wine and a whisky, waiting 1 1/2 hours for it to be ready, this location was closed "due to staffing". There is clearly no "manager" of this location. We will never shop at BevMo again. This was my second visit after moving out to Vistancia - we used to be Total Wine people...not after this visit! I came with my husband to check out the 5c Wine sales. Jerry came over to see what we were interested in - and we gave him very specific parameters - We know little about wine, we need to stock our wine rack, we like pinot grigio, and here's our approximate price range. He took us around to all kinds of different wines and gave us a mini wine tutorial while we filled up our cart! This was GREAT fun and he was so nice and knowledgeable about everything. Manager got a little whiney when I insisted that he check his shelf before I drive out to pick up a rare item. Their stock has been in error before, and sure enough... it was wrong this time. But no apology of course, and no acknowledgment that I was right to have him check his stock. Otherwise, selection is good on the whole, but customer service can be a little "iffy" at times. I heard they had a great selection of beers, wine, & spirits but wasn't prepared for what I saw when I entered the store. It's like the alcohol section at Costco on steroids. Near the front of the store is a section with stem/barware, wine chillers, kegorators etc. Walking toward the rear from that section are aisles of wine with great signage enabling customers to find items quickly. In the rear of the store are the refrigerated cases for beer and some juices. In the rear-mid section you'll find more shelves with beer and a few aisles with snackie-cakes and yum-yums to accompany your beverages. Then from the beer section going toward the front of the store are the spirits and liquors. I found a great Hawaiian beer there! If you spend $250, you get a 5% discount toward a future purchase after you sign up for a store discount shopper card. Gold stars for the great customer service, variety, affordable prices and store appearance/layout. And it still has that 'new store' smell.... read more

If there's any way you can make it over to Total Wine in Arrowhead, then without a doubt: pass this place up! Though we haven't always found what we came looking for, they admittedly do have a decent selection. The handful of times that we've been in, it has been due to convenience. However, the poor customer service always leaves me grimacing as we walk out the door. Even when we came with a friend who was buying several bottles of Dom Perignon for his own wedding, spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars there, the service he received was horrendous. We were all appalled. There are definitely better places to find what you are looking for! read more

Good selection of beer, I dont drink wine but there is plenty of that too. I can easily spend 30 minutes here browsing the selection of brews. My cousin from North Carolina went with me last time he was in town, he could not believe how many beers they had. I wish they had a larger selection of cold beers or singles in the cooler for when you are making that last minute custom 6 pack, but no tthat big of a deal. They will pester you to death about the Bev-Mo card, save yourself some grief and just sign up for one, you can even do it online. read more

Horrible customer service by the store manager Amanda. I was in the area looking for luxardo maraschino cherrys. Amanda came to the door and showed me two different types that they carry. I told her which ones I wanted and I asked if I could pay her or if I needed to go online to place the order. Her response was "I would prefer if you went online to do so". Perfect! I created and account placed the order, waited, waited, waited... Finally I check my confirmation and realized I placed the order through another BevMo. Since I had already waited so long I asked if I could just pay her and I would take care of processing the miss placed order through the other store, myself at a later time. Her response to me was "No! We don't want anyone coming into the store to pay"... Mind you the entire time I was waiting I watched them take numerous people into the store to pay for orders, one at a time. Due to the circumstances our world is in I completely understanding social distancing as well as store implementing orders being placed online for pickup, although if that is your policy then don't make exceptions to certain people and not to others. Bad, Bad, Bad Bev Mo Store... Inventory is BY FAR inferior to TOTAL WINE stores... At a prior visit, looking for Buffalo Trace (which they didn't have) I was advised by a store employee to go to Walgreens...Hilarious!!! Today, I'm in checkout, three of us in line, my arms full of product, and the checkout cashier is an older gentleman who is spending more time talking (I mean WAY more than what one would consider normal) with aloof disregard for those of us waiting to checkout. AND, two other employees moving about the cashier area, and they don't open a new register. Needless to say, I put everything back (about $150+) on the shelf and walked out for good...never to return. I never see a smile from the employees when I'm in this store...EVER! read more

Excellent customer service by telephone and in the store itself! I ordered champagne online from Massachusetts for my sister's 50th birthday and she picked it up 2 hours later at the Peoria Arizona BevMo!. In the comments section I mentioned that the order was a surprise for the person picking it up and asked if they could put it in a paper bag and staple it closed, if it wasn't too much trouble. (She's going to a liquor store to pick up something I ordered -- I'm pretty sure she guessed what I ordered.) When my sister got to the store, the champagne was sealed in a box and there were instructions that the person picking up shouldn't open the box AND no receipt was to be given. My sister called me from her car to tell me how nice they were at BevMo! I was thrilled and will go out of my way next time I'm in Arizona to shop there. It was a good visit, until the manager got involved. I went in today without a price point in mind, looking for something special for my birthday. I know my tastes are frequently out of stock and getting harder to find, so I was looking for maybe some help from one of the sommoliers. Elise was great and knowledgeable, easy to talk to, had plenty of recommendations and an honest, candid way of speaking. She's also the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one. I intend to follow up on her recommendations, I had 3-4 items she pointed out I was going to buy. However, since I was looking for some assistance with scotch (an area she mentioned her boss was an expert in) she thought it would be a good idea to grab him to help me. The manager (I believe his name was Jason or something with a J) from the start, looked annoyed that she bothered him to begin with. He came over and spoke as if he'd never had a pleasant conversation before. I understand that many years of experience can lead to certain quirks developing over time when it comes to the subject of one's expertise, but to be dismissive of your customer and what they're asking for and not budging on the matter of opinion versus fact is honestly appalling. I knew I was in trouble when I said I was looking for a scotch that wasn't 'too sweet.' He cut me off and said "No scotch is going to be sweet, it's dry. If you're looking for sweet, try a bourbon." I tried to clarify by saying I was looking for a scotch that didn't have too many sweet notes. He rebutted that with a contradiction in a dismissive tone saying "Almost all scotches have honey notes in their primary or secondary taste profiles, which has a sweet taste." At this point, I'm annoyed, thinking to myself, "Okay, so which one is it pal? Are all scotches dry and not sweet? Or do they have major sweet notes that taste sweet?" I try to level with him by pointing out scotches and brands that I don't like, and every time I mention one, he cuts me off. Eventually he just hands me a japanese whisky and says "You're gonna want this one, it's one of my favorites." I was a little taken aback, since I'd said I was looking for Scottish Scotch only, but at that point I realized I wasn't getting anywhere, put back the scotch he gave me, and kept looking for myself without another word, and he was all too quick to say "Well, guess you don't need any help then," and walked off---considering the 'help' he was giving, I was better off alone. I struggled to make more decisions on the whiskies I hadn't heard of before after that without input from someone who knew the customer reviews, so I ended up browsing for a little while after until I walked out, not wanting to give the manager any business. I wrote down Elise's recommendations in my phone and I'll buy elsewhere. It's a wonder Elise did such a great job considering she has such a rude fella for a manger---she obviously did not get her skills from him. Head to any other location or liquor store but this one unless you want to feel like an inconvenience and get talked down to by a short guy. read more

As with just about any Bevmo here, their inventory is impeccable. But it just seems that service is lacking at this store that I dont get in any other. At the store on Bell road, the staff fall over themselves trying to help me out, and making suggestions on other items that they themselves found to be of similar taste and quality. This store is entirely different. They act sometimes like they are doing me a favor and I should be falling over myself for them, and this last time I was there, not only did they card me, but they insisted on carding my wife as well, who was with me but was not buying anything. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind getting carded. I am a young looking 38 yr old man, but the idiot behind the counter insisted it was the law, which of course it isnt. If I had brought my 15 yr old daughter in with me, would they card her, or would I not be able to purchase alcohol? Some people just get stupid ideas in their head, I swear. Anyways in summary, I will continue to go there for things I know that I want just because they are right up the street. But for service, go to the one on Bell. read more
