The good=Always clean, bulbs seem fresh and service is good. The bad= a package of tans ( which are expensive) only lasts 1 year from purchase. I recently went in to get a quick tan and found out 2 of those tans expired. That is $90 down the drain simply because I waited to use them when I actually needed. I was 6 weeks past the 1 year mark. If you are an infrequent user make sure and keep a note on your calendar and a "use by date" like you would a carton of milk. ‍ I've been coming here for years but will now let mother nature and the weather do my color boost. read more

Wow! The tanning beds here are powerful, resulting in dark, beautiful tans. I especially like the stand up tanning with red light! The salon is very clean and the reception is always friendly. read more

Went in this morning for the first time looking to get in a bed for about 10 minutes. The man at the front desk was so sweet and helpful and I didn't feel upselled like many tanning places! Will be back for sure, tan was amazing and effective too! :) read more

Excellent experience! Derek at the front desk is fantastic- wonderful customer service skills. He made me feel comfortable and explained the process well. I'm looking forward to using my spray tan package this summer and I'm happy to support a local, neighborhood business. This salon is clean, affordable, and most importantly, fantastic customer service. Very refreshing- staff is genuinely helpful, knowledgeable and doesn't have scammy sales practices. Straight forward pricing and packages. Easy to say yes. The other tanning chain in the area literally fails on all levels in comparison to this place. read more

I love this place! I only do sunless tanning, so I can't comment on their UV tanning beds. They have 2 types of sunless tan and they're both great, I think it just depends on what you like. (My BFF loves Mystic, I love Versa.). The people who work there are really nice. They have great hours so it really helps when you're short on time and want to tan last minute. I highly recommend Total Tan! read more

Tanning since 1996 - present. I've always found it clean & welcoming. However, for (I believe) the 1st time in decades, I opened the TotalTan/MDR website & noted a couple of offerings I wasn't aware of ..... See you tomorrow Phil! To Kallie T's response: Kallie, are you certain your were dealing with the owner? I've dealt with him for decades & this has NEVER been behavior I've experienced ... This is the best tanning salon! They made me feel so warm and welcome and my tan was absolutely perfect! Everything was very easy to use and they made it very simple. I will definitely be returning read more

Wish i could give this place 0 stars. Carol is so beyond rude. There was one blonde front desk girl i loved but i think she left or was fired. She was the only redeeming quality this place had. Scam scam scam. Always issues with my card. This owner seemingly treats everyone terribly. read more

5- STAR ALL THE WAY! Total Tan has been my spot for quite some time now. I love their cleanliness, their hours, their quality beds, and their sweet and helpful staff. Bailey is my girl! I love her lotion recommendations and i love referring new clients to her. She is thorough, sweet, patient, and efficient. Everyone is so friendly and they care about their business. The owners are super NICE. Love them! They also handled the pandemic very well. I always feel super safe! I've tried many salons in this town, but TOTAL TAN is where it's at! THE BEST TANNING SALON IN LA! read more

When staff is better than the owner ... lol I have lots of cred. (Pre-purchased). He wasn't checking in to see if I was okay, he was checking on me to get out. Katie, I hope to see you on my next visit. Please keep him at his WeHo location. read more

Horrible place to go!!!!! The owner at the marina location is so rude and awful to her costumers!!! The one girl Natalie who works there is a sweet heart but the owner is the reason I will never support the business! The spray tan turned out HORRIBLE first of all and a employee told me I could redo my session, so when I come back in to redo it. The owner was there telling me I don't believe she said that, your lying. Then lied to me multiple times about asking the other employee and lied right to my face. Cheap businesses and poor customer service will never succeed in the long run. Horrible ownership service and terrible spray tans. read more

Disappointed. Should've come to yelp first, the website lists incorrect hours. I arrived @ the MDR location on Saturday evening 2 minutes before 6pm, they turned me away. Website says 8. I got an "I'm sorry about that" but that's all. read more

Total Tan - Tanning Near Me - Marina Del Rey, California

OK. So I posted this review on Yelp many times and it never posts! I have been going to Total Tan for many years. I try other places with good promotions and always come back to Total Tan. It is the cleanest, most updated tech, no bulbs ever out and it actually has parking and it is free parking in West Hollywood! My favorite reason for going is Bailey (hostess)!!! She is so amazing, friendly, honest and does push and push when you NO to buy something. That alone is relaxing. Bailey has most outgoing personality and her kindness is refreshing. I look forward to going to tan so I can see Bailey and her smile. This country needs a lot more Baileys and we would be ok! Vince R - WeHo/LA read more

One star because everyone was friendly but I now look like an UMPA LOOMPA!!! I purchased a groupon for a custom spray tan and went in on a Friday before a pool party to get my tan on. T The tech went waaayyyyy too dark on me (even though I told her I wanted a light to medium tan) and I have olive skin and already a darkish color. The facility is nice but not sure if the problem lies with the spray itself or the person spraying it. My tan was uneven, orange and smelled awful. I have had spray-tans in the past and loved them, not sure what went wrong this time. The only good thing about the tan is that it began fading 2 days later (thank god!!) and hopefully I won't have to wear long sleeves and pants to hide for long. read more

Total Tan - Worst spray tan ever. This is what most of my body looks like. Very patchy - Tanning Near Me - Marina Del Rey, California

I am embarrassed to say that I let my membership here laps when I moved temporarily out of town. This salon is one of the best that I had ever been to. Caring staff; great owners; and CLEAN, modern facilities, as well as great prices kept me coming back. I always enjoyed going to Total Tan especially because I could make an easy stop on my way back from the gym, or could use the Total Tan in West Hollywood. Again, I'm embarrassed that I let my membership lapse here, and I hope to return soon. read more

Clean facility with the newest machines. I found the new Versa pro spray booth to be so much better than the old Versa spray tan. I wasn't freezing my butt off like usual during the spray and I did not smell afterwards either. Happy I found a groupon that brought me to this place. Will be back. read more

Best tanning salon on the west side! Not only are they always getting the top of the line/new beds in but they always make sure lightbulbs are changed regularly so you're getting the most for your money. If that weren't enough, the daily and monthly deals have yet to be beat anywhere else! Theres something to be said about a tanning salon where every person that works here is super helpful and kind, not to mention the owner is a super sweet guy as well! read more

First time I've ever gotten a spray tan. I don't go to tanning salons since I actually do tan very easily. But I needed to be photo-ready so went here with a Groupon with no expectation. Natalie was the person who did my custom air spray tan. She was very sweet and gave me exactly what I wanted. I asked to only be about 2 shades darker than what I currently was. I wanted to look as if I was out in the sun and got a nice glow-- no super dark like in those body building competition. I didn't have any streaks or blotches nor did I look orange either! It was very comfortable to be around Natalie as she explained everything. Other than that, the facility was also very clean from what I saw :) read more

The owner is awful. He has terrible customer service and treated me horribly. I paid my monthly fee for unlimited tanning and he messed up and charged my card twice. I took a screenshot of all the transactions that went through and his response was "I'll figure it out Monday". There was no apology on his part and even wanted to charge my card AGAIN because he was disorganized and didn't see the transaction on his end. And now because of him my bank account is overdrawn and I now have to go deal with it at the bank which I don't have time for. I left in tears and he clearly could care less. All the other staff are so lovely and treat me like family so I don't know what to do because I don't deserve to be treated the way the owner treated me. I have been a loyal customer for a long time because of how sweet the other staff is but I don't even know if I'm going to go back at this point after what happened. read more

Finally! A great tanning salon with awesome team members! Being born and raised in New Jersey, I have high expectations for tanning salons here on the west coast! Kate is the best! Super friendly, accommodating, and just a first class person! She's welcomes me by name, thanks me on my way out the door. It makes the experience so much better! I'm a firm believer that your employees are the backbone of your business. Thanks for always being great Kate! read more

Very clean salon!! Versa spa is my go to. Employees are knowledgeable and sweet...never a long wait.

I absolutely love this place!! The staff are all friendly and super helpful when it comes to knowing the services and pricing!!! Every time I come in or others they are very quick to acknowledge with a happy and friendly smile!! I definitely refer my family and my friends to this tanning salon not only because of the deals and products they have, but because the staff make me feel welcomed, every time and all the time. They know what customer service is, and how to make their customers happy!! When it comes to the safety of employees and the customers with Covid19, they all are wearing masks the proper way every time I have came in, and always cleaning with disinfectant!! So thank you all! read more

I purchased a Groupon a month ago and it has been a wonderful experience since. Every time I visit it is a seamless in and out process. The staff is always extremely helpful and kind. After such a positive one month experience, I purchased a longer membership. I regret that I do not know her name, but a younger brunette has greeted me with kindness since the beginning and was extremely helpful with my selection of membership. More staff is needed like her across any business. Excited to continue. Thanks! read more

Total Tan - From bright light to sun kissed n a NY Minute! Thanks Morgan - Tanning Near Me - Marina Del Rey, California

I came here for the Mystic Tan. Let me preface this by saying I've done a lot of spray tans and self tans for years and have had ups and downs. Mystic is a quick cheap tan and in the past hasn't turned me orange and I was looking for cheaper option close to home in the winter months in lieu of a custom spray. The first time I came on on the yelp deal and used the light color bc I am very fair. Barely changed color. Tried again with medium and it was a little dark but doable for the $30 price. Went for my third tan doing medium again, and barely changed color. What this says to me is that the nozzles on the booth are clogged/need cleaning due to uneven spray and huge discrepancy in results. Overall, it's clean, and staff is friendly/helpful. For me I'll try again but might stick to home tanner on the off season. Worth it if you go Mondays too at the $20 price! Update: after posting this the owner, Phil, contacted me for a do-over tan. That one was good like the 2nd one I had done. The customer service here is great and I will be back. read more

Best place for spray tans!! They have the best pro-level machines, don't charge you extra for the darker levels, and monthly membership price is $30 cheaper than what I was paying at previous places in Santa Monica & Manhattan Beach. Overall great deal & never have to wait for a machine! read more

Total Tan - I love spray tanning here! It always looks so good! - Tanning Near Me - Marina Del Rey, California

I come here for mystic spray tanning and airbrush. I usually do the "glow" or "light", and both give me nice tanned look. The machine is almost as great as the airbrush. I've tried spray tan machine at other salons, but I did not like them. The one here is the best. I like doing the mystic tanning 1~2 days prior to my event / occasion. I scrub my body in the shower and wear no lotion before I go get spray tanning. I usually put an old sheet on the bed as the color can be transferred to the sheets. I use dark color towels as the color comes off when I take a shower next morning. I think I look more natural on the second day. Try the "glow" if it is your first time. read more

AHHH-MAZING!!!! Had such a wonderful experience here! I was early for a flight at LAX so I yelped a tanning salon nearby. This one had a coupon so I headed here blindly. It was very close to the airport. SOOOO CLEAN!!!! If there were 10 stars, I'd give it! Super nice girls at the front. State of the art Mystic shower! I could not have had a better experience nor tan! Their formula was not orange nor did it smell bad for the 6 hour flight I had after! Thanks for making my Pro Bowl tan in Hawaii awesome! read more
