The good=Always clean, bulbs seem fresh and service is good. The bad= a package of tans ( which are expensive) only lasts 1 year from purchase. I recently went in to get a quick tan and found out 2 of those tans expired. That is $90 down the drain simply because I waited to use them when I actually needed. I was 6 weeks past the 1 year mark. If you are an infrequent user make sure and keep a note on your calendar and a "use by date" like you would a carton of milk. ‍ I've been coming here for years but will now let mother nature and the weather do my color boost. read more

I love this place! I only do sunless tanning, so I can't comment on their UV tanning beds. They have 2 types of sunless tan and they're both great, I think it just depends on what you like. (My BFF loves Mystic, I love Versa.). The people who work there are really nice. They have great hours so it really helps when you're short on time and want to tan last minute. Horrible place to go!!!!! The owner at the marina location is so rude and awful to her costumers!!! The one girl Natalie who works there is a sweet heart but the owner is the reason I will never support the business! The spray tan turned out HORRIBLE first of all and a employee told me I could redo my session, so when I come back in to redo it. The owner was there telling me I don't believe she said that, your lying. Then lied to me multiple times about asking the other employee and lied right to my face. OK. So I posted this review on Yelp many times and it never posts! I have been going to Total Tan for many years. I try other places with good promotions and always come back to Total Tan. It is the cleanest, most updated tech, no bulbs ever out and it actually has parking and it is free parking in West Hollywood! My favorite reason for going is Bailey (hostess)!!! She is so amazing, friendly, honest and does push and push when you NO to buy something. That alone is relaxing. Bailey has most outgoing personality and her kindness is refreshing. I am embarrassed to say that I let my membership here laps when I moved temporarily out of town. This salon is one of the best that I had ever been to. Caring staff; great owners; and CLEAN, modern facilities, as well as great prices kept me coming back. Not only are they always getting the top of the line/new beds in but they always make sure lightbulbs are changed regularly so you're getting the most for your money. If that weren't enough, the daily and monthly deals have yet to be beat anywhere else! One star because everyone was friendly but I now look like an UMPA LOOMPA!!! I purchased a groupon for a custom spray tan and went in on a Friday before a pool party to get my tan on. T The tech went waaayyyyy too dark on me (even though I told her I wanted a light to medium tan) and I have olive skin and already a darkish color. The facility is nice but not sure if the problem lies with the spray itself or the person spraying it. My tan was uneven, orange and smelled awful. I have had spray-tans in the past and loved them, not sure what went wrong this time. The only good thing about the tan is that it began fading 2 days later (thank god!!) and hopefully I won't have to wear long sleeves and pants to hide for long. read more

The owner is awful. He has terrible customer service and treated me horribly. I paid my monthly fee for unlimited tanning and he messed up and charged my card twice. I took a screenshot of all the transactions that went through and his response was "I'll figure it out Monday". There was no apology on his part and even wanted to charge my card AGAIN because he was disorganized and didn't see the transaction on his end. And now because of him my bank account is overdrawn and I now have to go deal with it at the bank which I don't have time for. I left in tears and he clearly could care less. All the other staff are so lovely and treat me like family so I don't know what to do because I don't deserve to be treated the way the owner treated me. I have been a loyal customer for a long time because of how sweet the other staff is but I don't even know if I'm going to go back at this point after what happened. read more

First time I've ever gotten a spray tan. I don't go to tanning salons since I actually do tan very easily. But I needed to be photo-ready so went here with a Groupon with no expectation. Natalie was the person who did my custom air spray tan. She was very sweet and gave me exactly what I wanted. I asked to only be about 2 shades darker than what I currently was. I wanted to look as if I was out in the sun and got a nice glow-- no super dark like in those body building competition. I didn't have any streaks or blotches nor did I look orange either! I purchased a Groupon a month ago and it has been a wonderful experience since. Every time I visit it is a seamless in and out process. The staff is always extremely helpful and kind. After such a positive one month experience, I purchased a longer membership.
